That's a shame.

Back before the polyskins got fixed and it gave me +2 to my main casting stat after shifting I was contemplating if it was worth two level 9 slots for every shfit. Now I'm 100% sure it aint :)

There is a “fix” for 1 type of spontaneous caster: the Sporit Shaman. Because an SS can cast Owl’s Insight and gain a bunch of spell slots, when shifting, those unused spellslots are lost, NOT the real slots for when you go back to the real form of the PC.

Essentially, a temporary “Eagle’s Insight” should apply to a Sorcerer when the shift, but somehow also not apply Skill points from high CHA nor if the have Divine Grace, stack to Saves.

why not just drop an item on the skin that gives 4 spell slots to all 9 levels?

Because that will still only prevent wiz/cler/druid from losing slots. It wont prevent sorc/fs/ss from losing spells per day.

That stinks. Made this concept on the idea that it was being fixed. Oh well

Yeah I made a post somewhere about it, not sure. It was pretty annoying when I tried to make a successful sorcerer using shapeshift/polymorph.

it is still possible, but you dont get any bonus spells, which makes a wizard shapeshifter a little more versatile. If it could be fixed, that would be epic-sauce.

even if that item was equip-able by the changed creature?

IDK just want to see this work. i can adjust my play style and/or equipment to optimize inside the restriction.

maybe even giving the creatures themselves a certain set of spell slots like 9 spell at every level.

How it is working for a Spirit Shaman::

My SS is lvl 19, thus it has a base of 6 / 6 / 6 / 6 / 6 / 6 / 6 / 6 / 4 spells per day.

Because the toon has 19 WIS at Rest, the Spells per Day are 7 / 7 / 7 / 6 / 6 / 6 / 6 / 6 / 4

When I cast Owl's Insight, I gain the 28 WIS, but I do not gain any extra Spells per Day. However, if I manually dismiss Owl's Insight, I lose 1 spell per spell Level !!! Taking into account casting a level 5 spell, my new amounts are now: 5 / 6 / 6 / 6 / 3 / 5 / 5 / 5 / 5 / 3. Is that supposed to happen?!?

Never dismiss Owl's Insight I guess?!?

As for bonus slots: with high CHA or WIS, a SS or Sorcerer should have more than enough spells per Rest Timer. Don't forget that scrolls/elixirs are your Friends!!! Save your own spells for later!

does the bonus spell slots not work on spont caters because a tiny time-gap between changing form and getting the bonus spell slot item?

or is it more a product of how the bonus spells are achieved with relation to the cha bonus?

or is it something that is currently unknown?

Ok, now I am finding that the Shapeshift doesn't take into account weapon properties, it seems.

Haven't tried polymorph yet.

It seems Polymorph shapes do carry weapon properties over. Even minotaur.

As per the Wiki:

"Permanent weapon enchantments carries over to creatures who use weapons. Temporary ones are removed to avoid an exploit."

It does not differentiate between Polymorph or Shapechange spells, so why are weapon enchantments not applying to Shapechange at the moment?
