Ledger and Journal of R'ju

Unread post by adobongmanok »

//Just a reminder not to metagame me by reading my journal + ledger unless I rped it that you have it in my possession. Lastly, the ledger entries are encrypted. You would need me to disclose as to how you would decrypt it if you ever have my ledger in your possession.

R'ju possess a ledger which contains all of his trade histories as well as some important information to serve as leverage during a diplomacy or negotiations. It also contains some journal entries to keep himself informed of his past actions with individuals. The ledger entries are encrypted that seem to require a password in order to decrypt the information.

I have recently arrived in Sshamath, the City of Dark Weavings. I was greeted by an individual named Sssiks who served me as a guide around the city. I was taken aback, looking at the city from above. She introduced me to many individuals that provided me work to earn some coin to get by. So far, it seems that it was a right choice to visit Sshamath.

Journal Entry: Hammer 16, 1354

I have been in Sshamath for quite awhile now. It seems I have figured out my ways around the tunnels here and I have accumulated a pretty good amount of wealth to begin my plans. As I am about to head out Sshamath, I unfortunately run onto a member of one of the noble Lolthite houses. She aims quite well with her magical bow, and it seems that she has quite the ill-personality.

She asked for my reason in coming to Sshamath. I deflected the question by telling her that I am looking for a lost brother. She seemed to buy the story and offered me an opportunity to introduce myself to one of the noble Lolthite houses to aid me in my plight. She also disclosed that she is a Szarkai, a white drow. It seems that she is in conflict with an individual named "Dev'lin". I agreed to her offer, let us hope that I won't be sacrificed to the matron.

Lastly, it seems that I have found a very rare sword. Quite the series of fortunate events for me. Let's hope that this streak would not end for awhile.

Journal Entry: Hammer 18, 1354

A few days ago, I encountered a few individuals in Gloura's Wings talking about politics between Lolthite Houses. They seem not to notice my presence and decided to eavesdrop for awhile to gather some information. It seems there has been an infighting between the noble houses. This female drow, which possess a very unique magical aura, threatened to crush his house. She offered him to join her house if he conspires with her. Also, it seems that Bregan D'aerthe involved in some way. I decided to leave before they notice my presence. Also, I have not heard anything yet from the Szarkai so it might be for the best for me not to be involved with their politics any further.

Today has been another interesting day. I met an individual named Elvithruldur who decimated his enemies with his crossbow. We fought some duergars in the Illithid Mines and eventually ran onto another individual who is heavily armored, face-covered, and wields a greatsword. She introduced herself as Trish and asked us to join our company. Elvi demanded that Trish would reveal her face but it ended up into a fight.

Elvi drew the first blow with his crossbow, but Trish was able to come close to him and strike Elvi with her greatsword. Elvi was hit by her first blow but he manages to avoid the succeeding blows and created distance between them. Trish recovered her form and charges towards Elvi as he shoots arrows at her. Trish was able to deflect all vital shots and came close once more. Elvi was struck down after a few consecutive hits.

While the fighting was happening, a long-haired male drow arrived and was observing the fight. After the fight ended, he introduced himself as Keeshe. He continued to observe as I tended to Elvi's wounds and settled the conflict peacefully. After taking a few moments of rest, Elvi and Trish accompanied me to the Illithid Hive while Keeshe tailed us until we reached the entrance to the Hive. The three of us raided the place and rested at Gloura's after. When we arrived at Gloura's, Trish removed her helmet, revealing her Orcish features. Elvi bought her a few rounds of drinks as an apology.

Journal Entry: Hammer 20, 1354

There has been so many things happening lately. It seems that my journal entry might be a little long. Let's start with the events yesterday.

While venturing at Illithid Mines, I run onto a monk of Lolth named Kane. He moves pretty quick for his stature and I could barely keep up. He showed me the ways through the Tunnels in the Underdark as I map it out for my future reference. It was my first time seeing a drider up close. I must say, it has reaffirmed some of my beliefs...

We eventually went back to Sshamath and Kane had to part ways with me. I took a brief reprieve from slaying driders and went to Rockrun to visit the City of Svirfneblins. I ran onto an interesting individual named Krackit Cragborn. I called him a halfling by mistake, but he forgave me instantly. We roamed around the areas near his village and wrecked havoc on the terrorizing groups that lives nearby. It seems that he can shape shift to other types of creatures, making him a formidable ally for a certain amount of time.

After a finishing our rounds in the Upperdark, Krackit and I decided to head to the Illithid mines to lessen the Duergar population. There, we ran onto a noble, a summoner, and a stalker...

The noble introduced himself as Xan from House of Sshamath. He wears a full clad of armor and gives off an intimidating aura. The summoner called herself "A caged one". It seems the other two calls her Valji. Lastly, the stalker who loves to hide in shadow introduced himself as Sinji from the Citadel of Ice and Steel on the Elemental Plane of Air. Interestingly enough, I could feel the air swirling around him when I approached him.

After they introduced themselves, they asked us to introduced ourselves and I told them that I am just a traveling adventurer who is looking for wealth and treasures in the mines. Krackit on the other hand revealed that he is part of the Bregan D'aerthe. The three eventually joined us for a brief company to slay the Pit Fiend that lies below us.

It was my first time to encounter such creature up close. I must say, the battle was long and grueling. Valji and Krackit took the frontlines while Sinji and I stood behind them. Xan Sshamath covered our rear during the fight. I must say, I am very impressed with Valji who did most of the work in slaying it. After the battle, the five of us decided to part ways.

Today, I ran onto the Szarkai on my way out of Sshamath. We both went to Illithid Mines to slay some more duergars and we eventually ran onto an Earth Genasi named Thalos. I must admit, he is very well-trained in fighting. Though, the Szarkai seems to look down upon him due to his bloodline. Seems like I finally have a full picture of the Szarkai's personality. We parted ways with Thalos after killing a few dozens of Duergars and Illithids. We headed back one more to town for a brief rest.

There, I ran onto Keeshe who seemed to be bored of his mind. He decided to join us to slay some more Duergars in the Illithid Mines. Judging by his form, it seems that he prefers to slay his enemies in quick succession and quickly remove himself from sight. We ran onto some trouble when 12 duergars suddenly ambushed us and took down the Szarkai. Keeshe and I were only left to deal with the remaining 10 duergars. Suddenly, a golden-armored individual unexpectedly charged towards us and slayed the 10 duergars by herself. She introduced herself as Yath Zese. She quickly left the scene as soon as we recovered from the ambush. The Szarkai parted ways with us to rest up after the ordeal we just encountered.

Shaken by the ambush, Keeshe and I decided to head to the Labyrinth of Kro to train ourselves. There, we met Thalos, the Earth Genasi from previous encounter. The two chatted about their past while we slayed some arachnids. Apparently, Thalos was born somewhere North of Neverwinter. He called it "A land of ice, snow, and darkness". Keeshe came from the well-known drow city "Menzoberranzan". Seems like I am getting a good grasp as to the personality of the two. I eventually parted ways with them, calling it a day at Gloura's.

Journal Entry: Hammer 23, 1354

I have been forgetting to update my journal lately. I suppose I should start off two days ago.

After conducting my usual trade to earn some coin, I decided to head to the Labyrinth of Kro to slay some spiders. Lo and behold, I spotted a curious surfacer slaying the spiders ahead of my path. I must admit, it has been quite awhile since I saw a visage from someone above. I cautiously approached the surfacer who has conjured allies along side her.

After a few tensed dialogue, I decided not to start a conflict with the surfacer. She offered to join me and serve as her guide, in which I warned her that she is a foolish to easily trust my kind. Though, I complimented her for having the courage to do so and foolishly agreed to her offer. She called herself "Callia".

I suggested Callia that if we ran onto another drow, that she would pretend to be my slave. It seems that she laughed at the remark, though she agreed that it would be wiser to do so. She began to talk about her past, mainly her birthplace "Luiren". I've read books about the home of the halflings, but I decided to entertain her by asking questions about it. After a long series of dialogues, we made our way to Sshamath and I parted ways with her.

Yesterday, I spent most of the day conducting trade. I unexpectedly made a hefty amount of gold that I would usually take weeks to earn. During one of my trade dealings, the merchant spoke of a rumor regarding an infamous drow has been taken captive by the pirates in Roaringshore. The merchant also added that the drow is being auctioned for an enormous starting amount of 1 million gold coins. As much as I would like to spend an enormous portion of my wealth to save a kin, it would not further my current ambitions. I thanked the merchant for the information and ended my business for that day.

Today, I saw Kane and Elvithruldur on my way out of Sshamath. Along the way, we spotted a young female drow that seems to be looking for a mentor in arcane ways. As much as we would like to help her, the three of us are not wizard of sorts. We decided to take our leave and continued with our usual business. The three of us fought the Pit Fiend and...honestly with the amount of time took us to slay it down...it felt like days. We parted ways after the grueling battle with the fiend.

Later on, while I was on my way to find those annoying mushrooms, I ran onto Keeshe, Byron, and a young priestess of Lolth. Byron claims that he is a brother of Keeshe and yet such a huge disparity in personalities between them makes me think otherwise. Oddly enough, Byron tried to intimidate me with his pointy stick and called me a "Cucumber". I suppose he has some odd obsession with the surface vegetable. The young priestess unexpectedly read my mind and asked Keeshe if Byron is a brother from another mother. I bursted a huge laugh, leaving me speechless. I decided to take my leave and continue on my mushroom hunting for that filthy wizard.

After finishing my errands, I spent a good amount of time in Sshamath, reflecting on some foolish decisions that I have made in the past few days. Perhaps, I would see the day that my ambition will come to its fruition or perhaps that my naivete personality will be my downfall. Nevertheless, there are things that needs to be done.
