Is camouflage better than getting an additional 1d6 death attack then?
Yes. It's great outdoors.
Is the fighter feats for longbow better than the additional feats and enhancements from arcane archer?
Yes: Fighter: +2 AB and dmg Ranged Mastery +2 Weapon Spec. +1 free feat vs. AA: +2 AB and dmg, and a few minor goodies and skillpoints

The build will only have access to level 2 Ranger spells and assassin spells. Would it be better to go all in on one set of spells? If I use Hunter kit I'll lose access to ranger spells, is that worth it or are Ranger level 1 and 2 good compared to assassin 3 and 4?
Consider the spells in this kind of build just a bonus. The build doesn't and cannot rely on them.

But you're not entirely correct. This build gets access to all assassin spells (as the assassin "spell book" is actually mechanically feats rather than spells, the intelligence score is irrelevant) and level 3 ranger spells provided you have a +1 (or higher) wisdom item equipped.

But as I say, spells are bonuses here. Just nice to have, but not something that this build relies on.

It's mainly for the increased duration. If you'd rather not rely on spells here, you might well pick another feat if you want? I suppose you could get blindfight or something (there is a ranger spell granting that feat too, if I recall correctly), but the amount of mobs with concealment is relatively low on the server.

EDIT: I mean, you can also drop Stealthy, Skill Focus (Hide) and Skill Focus (Move Silently), if you have some other feats in mind that you want here. None of them are vital for the build. Just cool to have mainly for RP reasons. And to be honest, I can't really think of anything better to pick for an archer. Steadfast Determination, maybe? Not a lot to gain on it.

Another assassin level instead of ranger level would drop your AB by 1 as well. Camouflage lets you run while outdoors and in stealth. That is pretty cool, and can actually save your life at times. But I suppose it's mainly flavour?

Yes.

Arcane archer 9 gets +5 damage and AB.
Arcane archer 5 / fighter 4 gets +5 AB and +6 damage. And you get some extra feats.

If you went any other kind of elf than wood elf, though, I'd go arcane archer 9 instead, as the ranger/fighter combo will give you XP penalty.

Wonderful thanks for that. That makes great sense. Only other elf race to avoid the xp penalty would be the half elf I suppose but obviously that wouldn't have the dexterity bonus but would get extra skills.
