RCR bot auto xfer equipment and gold
would it be possible to set the RCR monster to take all equipment and gold from a character and transfer it to the new character who receives the XP

Re: RCR bot auto xfer equipment and gold
I just think it would be far better than going in game to use the storage system and going back to the Nexus to rcr then waiting for a reset before being allowed to play again. Or standing around asking for help to transfer the stuff/gold. Of course I have no clue how hard it would be to make it happen, if anyone else wants it, or if it's not even possible

RCR : Retired character rebuild
It might be misused but the suggestion above should, at the very minimum, merely be an option and not the norm.

Re: RCR bot auto xfer equipment and gold
While I wouldn't classify this as a high priority item since it is convenience OOC'ly more than adding to anything in game/in character, I wouldn't say it's a bad thing to include. The annoyances related to muling gold and items has never been something that deter's people from RCR'ing, it just makes it take far more time than it should. Frankly, if a player is RCR'ing I would rather it not be a multiple reset afair where they login on character X, mule gold to character Y, go in game solely to put items in storage, logoff, go do other stuff or login on an alt until reset, then log back in to character X, RCR, create character Z, mule gold from character Y to Z, go in game and get equipment out of storage, now character Z is actually officially a character that (might) interact with the world and other players...
Again, I would say it's lower priority as it's far more important to me personally to get new/updated area's/enemies to experience, new mechanics to play with (new classes, feats, spells, what-have-you) then to make an OOC mechanic more convenient. However, I suppose this is one of those YMMV situations where some RCR often and therefore would likely classify this as a higher priority...

IF this is going to become a thing, I would advocate making the RCR penalty higher. Otherwise, you'll have even more folks who do things like level their fighter to level 10 and then make their Gish. But then, they'll also find they can more easily move their gear to said Gish.
Maybe change it to be a flat cost, regardless of current level?

Re: RCR bot auto xfer equipment and gold
This is how it was until about a year and a half ago. We made the tiered RCR penalty as a sort of middle ground to the folks that want all free RCR all the time, or free RCR once every 6 months or whatever. The way it currently stands is seen as less of a penalty to new players since we have so many custom classes, feats, skills on BGtSCC.samb123 wrote:Maybe change it to be a flat cost, regardless of current level?
Honestly I don't really see an issue of RCR'ing at 10, any ECL0 character can level from 1-2 in about 15 minutes if they just stand there and RP. In general, for experienced players levels 1-19 takes less than 40 hours to attain either by grinding, using weekly quests or even just by RP'ing with some quests or grinding (will take longer, but not much).
I would be cautious removing the free RCR for low levels because it really only helps new players, I don't know any experienced ones that use it for much other than an alt that's been sitting for a long time now and then. We should always remember that being new to the server can be rather daunting both from an IC and OOC standpoint so having availability of things like free low level RCR's is a nice, helpful option for a player that didn't realize they needed a certain feat or selected a feat instead of spell casting progression for a PRC. New players are good, they keep the server fresh with new ideas and RP angles. We should (where possible) help to make things a bit less overwhelming for them.

Re: RCR bot auto xfer equipment and gold
How does that make any sense? All this suggestion does is replace the "wait in nexus for a friend or risk using a campfire" to transfer gear with a much more sensible system. You can already move gear, the server is tight knit enough that anyone will do it for you. DMs can even copy/paste your inventory and have been known to do it. Under this suggestion, nothing will change except for convinience. The same gear can transfer from character to character as is possible now.samb123 wrote:IF this is going to become a thing, I would advocate making the RCR penalty higher. Yes to the OP. It should be doable, and there is no reason not to have it.

Re: RCR bot auto xfer equipment and gold
It makes perfect sense. Here's why. RCR's shouldn't be commonplace. In fact, frankly, I don't even think we should allow transfer of gear, period.metaquad4 wrote:How does that make any sense?samb123 wrote:IF this is going to become a thing, I would advocate making the RCR penalty higher. Re: RCR bot auto xfer equipment and gold
Unfortunately (as far as I'm concerned anyway) gear transfer cannot even be technically controlled, it would need heavy policing and nobody is up for that so we have to bear with muling wether we like it or not, it's not up for debate.

What is the rationale behind that position?samb123 wrote: It makes perfect sense. Here's why. RCR's shouldn't be commonplace. In fact, frankly, I don't even think we should allow transfer of gear, period.

I think I agree most with Chad when he says
I also really like Valeforts ideaWhile I wouldn't classify this as a high priority item since it is convenience OOC'ly more than adding to anything in game
Making it so it has a seperate dialogue option or something would be cool. Might be a good idea to subtract 1k gp from the characters as a "service fee" as they are already gaining previous treasure and probably do not need a starting equipment fund.the suggestion above should, at the very minimum, merely be an option and not the norm.
