Also, it's not a "blanket" immunity. You need to take FIVE lvl 7 spells. With my 34 intel Red Wizards, that left me with 2 spells of that level. Not to mention the stupid all dispelling chests you randomly stumble upon.
I'm all for it if archers cannot have more than 1 stack of 99 arrows in their inventory. I mean, they can switch between all sort of elemental damage in the same fight.

Wizards barely have any slots left if they want to survive.
If they fight, they'll run out what little they have left over.
Why don't we implement stamina?
In case this goes through: you can open the chests with your familiar, or order your summons to do so.
Wizards never need to take traps. Ever.
I swear to god if this stupid change comes in, I'm out.
I think you are overestimating the impact of this. Regardless, I would not change this at the price of a player leaving...it doesn't do much, tbh.

That's actually a good idea man.
- Familiar: facetank the trap with Evasion.
- Summons: V (quick chat) -> D (tasks) -> W (open lock)

I'm pretty sure summoning a poor creature just to facetank a trap for you is an evil action at worst, morally ambiguous at best.
And let's not consider wizards with forbidden school: conjuration.
And evasion doesn't save you. My char has a high reflex save, has evasion, passes almost all saves..
Cue acid trap dealing 100+ damage with a reflex save that you can't evade from.

You're right.
Instead, looting the same 2 chests every reset is perfectly IC.
If your familiar with Evasion dies, you'll likely get over it. If you can't, call your grief consultants: they'll come to hug.

You can also pop in and out of troll form with it's high Con and regen when opening chests. Or various shapechange forms.
Overall I don't really see the need to change this though, since the immunity is breachable. If someone really wants to spend their spell slots this way I don't think it's a huge problem.
The effect of this spell does not stack with similar effects, such as resist energy and protection from energy, that protect against the same energy type.
If a character is warded with energy immunity (fire) and is also receiving resistance to fire from one or more of the other spells, the energy immunity makes the other spells irrelevant.
However, it is possible to be simultaneously under the effect of energy immunity (fire) and resist energy (electricity), or any other two such spells that protect against different types of energy.
The spell IS supposed to stack, as long as different types are cast. There are PLENTY of other “unbalanced” aspects to this game and mechanics that should be changed before THIS even gets considered, imho.
For information after discussion in QC energy immunity will remain unchanged as the consequences in PvE or PvP were considered insignificant, changing it wouldn't have made anything better.

Random wagglers cant afford my rogue. Plus, I'd have to actually log in and... like, RP and stuff (As for any others playing trap disarmers, I'd wager there aren't too many around... not much point being one in a party when a tank can just smash a chest open without fear of dying to the trap, or breaking any goodies inside)
