Though of contested territory of Amn or not...the populace of Beregost may further a rumor that unusual activity...movement and march...east of the village and near the township of Gullykin, toward the known mount inferno bathed in the Blessed Flame of Kossuth, was witnessed in the nowadays.

An air of divine discipline descended along the edge that separated the distinct boundaries...bound to faith...so it could be said felt.

A red robed man stands openly in the public space, proselytizing to the crowd on the nature of "pure light,"...that which is present in the dogma of the Morninglord...but equally-if-not-more-so in the dogma of the Firelord, that being Kossuth.

He speaks as eloquently as his skills allow (base DC 11 Diplomacy) to the people, of "higher stature," the "true vision" and how the pure light that is share between the faith of Lathander and the faith of Kossuth will "complete order...and harmony will follow."

He ends his words to any that listen with: "...that they only need to offer themselves to a purification...and the truth will reveal itself."

It is also rumored that a hulking figure in black did offer to the proselytizer a large fire agate...though one may wonder if that was a true offering in recognition of the Faith...or simply in order to gift the red robed man an object to offset his possible mistaken identity as a beggar or madman.

The red robed man is joined by another in orange silks embossed with fiery gouts woven from golden thread. He preaches to a modest congregation of seven souls who huddle around the bonfire he has lit, seeking shelter from the late Marpenoth cold.

"The township of Beregost is independent once more, like the phoenix of Kossuthan legend reborn from its ashes. "

The gaunt foreigner has a viperous cast to his features. His skin is sallow and bears upon it numerous tattoos and burns.

"The simpler men among you will celebrate. For they are as cattle before the butcher, incognizant of their peril."

He makes a pause as two of his flock stand up and leave, spitting profanities.

"The practical will carry on with their business and keep their heads down. For to them one regime is no better or worse than the next as long as it doesn't hurt their profits."

Pacing, he finally draws to a still before the fire that had begun to wither from the biting cold.

"Lastly, the wise among you will prepare. For they know that the hardest times still lay ahead. That independence must not only be won, but also kept."

Palms are pressed together, steepled under a jutting chin. A ghost of a smile touching his pair of thin lips.

"The Morninglord's light sends the shadows scurrying at dawn. But what keeps the wolves at bay during the night when the amnian garrison is gone ?

As though sympathetic to his inflamed words, the fire roars anew with a sentience that seems all its own.

"I'll tell you what; fire ! Wolves fear fire. Kossuth's fire, the crucible that forges nations and the steel that they need to protect themselves. The wolves of the black network and the shadow thieves slaver at the prospect of carving up your fledgling nation and dividing it between themselves. Accept Kossuth's pure light into your hearts as you have Lathander's and reject their darkness ! Our faiths combined will light a beacon of progress and truth that will warm the faithful and burn their enemies. Beregost's enemies."

Firewalker Sekhron, as he lets himself be known to the populace holds service twice every fortnight and can be reached at the temple of Firelord in Gullykin.

DM Golem wrote:With the ceremony being held in the evening... a large bonfire being created and several dancing around it ...
As the fire growths with the will and willingness of the townspeople, a champion of faith, a Disciple of the Flame, appears among the revelers.

He circles the bonfire, nodding his head in approval as he cheers on the revelers, as they gain from the moment of revering the pure light of the flame.

At as many moments as possible, he speaks aloud to those near:

"Embrace the moment, embrace the warmth, the pure light...all that is a gift from Kossuth, the Firelord himself! When the sun sets and darkness sets in...what protects you, gives you sight in the darkness, keeps your and your house warm and secure...yes, it is the pureness of flame, the richness of the fires that burn, from lamp to hearth...yes, it is always there, this, the most powerful element, the greatest force, that here, in this moment, you may worship for giving you all that you seek in the night..."

As the dancing of feet continue, the dance of words falls into equal step:

"Reach out for the higher stature...follow the path of the pure light that is shared both by Lathandar and Kossuth...see how reliance and acceptance of the Firelord will complete order...and harmony will follow.

Offer yourselves to the purification...and the truth will reveal itself."

The Preceptor of the Temple of the Fire Lord returns again to the township of Beregost...showing the way as proposed, that when Sun fades and the night comes and darkness holds sway over the town, the divine pureness and light, gift of the Lord of Flames, will give guidance to all...and purification.
