What is the cap at on BG? 8 levels? For when you cannot party with another character that is.
Or is there some sort of penalty starting from a certain level?

Re: Level difference in Group Xp
Last I remember is to stay within 5 Levels, within the Group, for maximum XP gain.

Re: Level difference in Group Xp
It's 10 levels.
XP is not affected by summons so far as I can tell.
Average group level might play a part in XP gain.
XP seems to drop by half if the group has 7 people, and drops to practically 0 if 8 or more are in a group.

I'm fine with the group size having an XP cap. I was just providing information for the OP in case they were curious.

Re: Level difference in Group Xp
It's a scaling formula.
It takes the average level of the party (adding everyone's levels together and dividing by # of party members).
If you are more than 7 levels away in either direction from the "APL" (average party level) then you will no longer receive experience for kills. You also get reduced experience the further you are from the APL up to 7.
So it's possible, if just barely, for a level 8 to group with a level 21 and both of them to still receive experience. Not much, mind you.
There's also some other factors involved in experience calculation that I won't go into too much detail about (as I don't want people trying to 'powergame' the system for maximum efficiency), but I'm willing to divulge this much for the sake of knowing whether or not you can even gain experience at all when choosing to join a party.

This is very useful information for new players. Maybe this should be a "sticker" somewhere? Or added to the community information forum?Endelyon wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 10:17 am It's a scaling formula.
