Longbow Compendium
I started this list to capture all the better longbows (+3 EB min) that can be purchased from various merchants. The list does not include any randomly generated or any epic bows other than those available from an NPC.
Costs listed below are based on my archer’s low Appraise skill, so no doubt a skilled broker can get a much lower price. And as the title says, this is only for longbows.
Bonecrusher Longbow +3 (48,500g from Beregost – Thunderhammer Smithy)
+3 EB
+4 Mighty
Extra Ranged Damage: Bludgeoning (not extra damage dice, but rather damage type — effective versus undead)
Great Longbow of Nocking (83,000g from Beregost – Thunderhammer Smithy)
+3 EB
+4 Mighty
Unlimited Ammo: Basic Arrow
Bow of the Wintermoon (402,500g from Baldur’s Gate – The Wide)
+4 EB
+1 Cold Damage
+5 Mighty
+1d6 Damage vs. Elves
Skill Bonuses: +4 Listen, +4 Spot, +4 Survival
Swordbow (70,000g from Baldur’s Gate – The Wide)
+3 EB
+1d4 Fire Damage
+10 Hit Points
Extra Ranged Damage: Slashing (not extra damage dice, but rather damage type)
Bow of the Great Hunt (50,700g from Baldur’s Gate – The Wide)
+4 EB
Massive Crits: 1d6
Skill Bonuses: +2 Listen, +4 Survival
Elven Longbow (55,000g from Doron Amar)
+3 EB
+3 Mighty
+3 AC (Deflection)
Usable by: Elf, Half-Elf, UMD
Blood Oath (381,500g from Doron Amar)
+4 EB
+5 Mighty
+1d6 Damage vs. Orcs/Gray Orcs
40% of Weight
Usable by: Arcane Archer, Fighter, Ranger, Elf/Half-Elf, Good Alignment
Please chime in if I'm missing any others. Again, this is focused only on longbows with +3 EB min that can be purchased from an NPC merchant.

Re: Longbow Compendium
Great thread. As much as I already like the current ones, I wish there would be more options for bows...

Interesting idea.
Would this not be better off in the Gameplay Guides section of our forum?

Sure, I'd move this thread if I knew how.

Moved to "Gameplay Guides" forum as it seems to better fit there as suggested by several posters.

Re: Longbow Compendium
I saw in the update notes that EDE shop has been added. Are there any nice longbows there, or even better, an actual list of buyable items?

No longbows.

I don't mean to attack you here but I do want to shed some insight on the other side of this debate.Theodore01 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 10:29 am No longbows.

While I understand this mentality, the lack of documentation of available weapons serves as another way the server implicitly favors more experienced players who are able to design characters from level 1 knowing what store bought items they can use.
They are using OOC knowledge that their level 1 character wouldn't have, not that I take issue with it as the entire character creation process is ooc knowledge (e.g. building towards Spring Attack on your frenzied weapon master who never runs between mobs in combat)
I don't think you are wrong that exploring the server should be encouraged but this is a privileged outlook. If I wanted to make an Archer, understanding what levels of Mighty bow I might expect to plan my Strength accordingly would make a big difference.
Right now, I believe the experienced players on the server are relatively aware of the available top tier bows / longsword / belts (of growth) / stealth gear whereas a less experienced player is not. Since some of these weapons have feats attached and can be very important to a players final build performance (take the power attack gloves or toughness ring as examples) it's sort of like if the less experienced players did not have read access to all the PRCs or feats or spells in the wiki and would be encouraged to play them to learn who they work.
I am not saying that the admins absolutely positively need to publish a "buyable weapons list" on the wiki, although I would support it, but instead that perhaps there is more here than just someone being too lazy to explore the BGT server

Perhaps this lack of silver platter knowledge, can be considered a personal development opportunity for players on the server.

That's rich.
Anyway here's something people might find useful, just linking someone else's work and the associated forum post I had nothing to do with this
