Subject: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
DM Spartacus wrote: Thu May 09, 2019 5:16 am An unusual outbreak of disease among the refugees outside the Gates is declared contained. A Planetar is blamed.
Henryk the Damaran is most recently seen taking count of the results of the rapidly arriving and rapidly staunched pox that descended upon the Tymount Camp. A contained spread is the best outcome, so far, and Henryk is openly speaking to blessed fortune that application of powers has manifested. Henryk does not hold back pride in stating that his Faith and Action and Ability did service the Tymoutians, once again (Spartacus approved).

Still, Henryk's relief is peppered by another outspoken...feeling...he observes, within, that this pox was unjustly caused. With such concern, Henryk does his best to solicit and further information on the rumor of said Planetar, related to a blame for the pox, and circumstances surrounding such. As would be the case with most goodly aligned Faithful, to hear rumor that a Planetar, a being of celestial goodness, angelic in nature and deed could be bound up in a spread of disease, would be more than odd, but deeply troublesome to any that hold strength in the Triad, especially those reverent to Ilmater.

For now, Henryk remains a vigilant watcher within the Camp, and continues to apply his Powers to the Removing of Disease, when necessary, until it is assured that the pox has transcended from contained, to eradicated.

The Fox lingers at the outskirts of the encampment, doing what he can to coordinate and help fund the relief efforts. On occasion he meanders through but does not linger long, neither wanting to be in the way of the healers, nor wanting to fall victim to the malady himself. In any case he makes it readily apparent that he is available and willing to help however he is able, should anyone approach and ask.

In the recent days, the knight-errant Henryk the Damaran, wayward son of house Urde, Sword of Tyr, champion to the Cause for a New Tymount, liaison to the Duchal Court for the Temple of the Just God, was showing near-complete signs of recovery, two weeks after his near-death experience from travels in the north, and was to be seen walking the Tymount Refugee Camp, conversing with the village citizens that remained there, and, when time would afford it, continuing the training with the Tymount Ten.

More so, and in the last day or so, some may have witnessed Henryk organizing the camp facilities in a particular manner—some may observe enough to say the organization that Henryk led was forming and arrangement within the Camp that would seem to prepare it for more persons to be supported there....

Henryk the Damaran could be seen this daytime within the camp, fully dressed in his shining armor, recently buffed and repaired since his last dressed sighting in the Eastern Farmlands, hastily organizing among the Tymountians present there—his actions depict him in the role of overseeing something, to occur.

Later, as nightfall descended upon the Camp, Henryk left it in care of the Peoples and the active Tymount Ten...though he diverted from his usual path to the Gate, and headed south along the Coast Way, a torch held high lighting his way in the descending dark of night.

A possibly perceived event of some strangeness occurred in the late of night or early of morning—depending on point of view...—as a small yet sizable group of Human-sized figures traversed the Eastern Farmlands, nearly in single final, guided by one dressed in red cape and hood, and reared by a glistening-armored, knightly-appearing figure holding high a single torch light.

The train of beings entered in the Camp, and without much fanfare...save a short blessing and laying on of hands, bythe easily identified knightly figure, still holding the torch, high and with purpose, over the head of each that he touched.

Some may notice the overall Camp population to slightly grow after this night...and for as long as anyone could say, it remains in such a way.

Those visiting the camp would soon come to understand that the newly arrived persons were former slaves, rescued from the Underdark. The Ilmatari clergy who tend to those in the camp pay special attention to them, mindful of the traumas that previous batches of slaves have come to the surface with.

Evidence of those traumas arose when one of the slaves went seemingly mad, and assaulted another of the slaves, an elderly woman. The man was unfortunately slain by the men-at-arms of the Radiant Heart on duty in the camp. The man-at-arms faces no legal repercussions for what was deemed to be action in defence of another.

Early in the following morning, Henryk the Damaran, the Sword of Tyr, returns to the Camp bearing a small handful of supplies.

Hearing the rumor that madness had appeared among the recent arrivals, he shows signs of worry, perhaps inner doubt, as his Faith-based healing to remove disease and lay-on-hands, did not succeed to filter out the Evil that he feared may reside deep within one or more of the ex-slaves...and possibly still does.

For Henryk has heard the rumors of what the Illithid monster must do, to become itself.

The knowledge that an elderly woman was harmed, Henryk immediately searches the Camp for Alma, the old woman who offered knowledge of the origins of so many of the new arrivals, which was to be recorded and used to better bring the ex-slaves to a new, prosperous and free future.

A man of simple attire known to some as Eth frequents the new arrivals of the refugee camp bringing a limited amount of supplies and goodies for them and spending considerable time talking with them, offering them a sympatethic ear to let them digest what they've been through and prepare for the new life that awaits them

A lady in red riding hood came to the camp, she focused her attention on healthier young adults. She spoke to them quietly, nodding her head at times as she listened to their concerns. For some she made mention of a castle in the city where a mighty group of mercenaries where based. That sometimes what people needed most was the power to take back their lives and they should consider talking to the captains there in.

Zolvor visits the refugees and notices the unrest and poor conditions they suffer in. He wonders if some group might be able to exploit this opportunity to create an uprising. If only they had the armor and weapons to equip them, and the correct speech...

If Zolvor is experienced or well versed in refugee camps he would notice that this is a particularly well run and well appointed example, with most of the residents either newly arrived, or young, single people, many of whom seem almost zealously devoted to opposing the Devils. Meals are of a quality that equals that of the average citizen, and there are Ilmatari buzzing here and there tending to health needs.

Even if he is not familiar with refugee camps, he can see well enough the men-at-arms of the Radiant Heart, volunteer guards of the churches of Helm and Tyr, and the Tymount Ten all keeping a close watch on threats to the camp. Including, if he does look suspicious, Zolvor.

The woman's offers of talk would be well received. Those new among the refugees would listen, although most would not seem interested. They had fled for safety (or...for free meals). Those longer in the camp, the young and hardened of Tymount, would explain that several of their number had already joined the Watch and the Fist, and many of them have considered it. They give various reasons for not having done so, based on family, or fears, or past injury, or indeed a desire to support instead their own champions, the Tymount Ten, with their labour. The visitor does seem to make some of them think again, however.

The man is warmly received, and his goods find good homes. One of the Ilmatari thanks him for his aid.

Henryk is thanked for his vigilance. Sister Rachel would find him and speak of how they have checked all the recent arrivals for curses and the like and she does not believe any more are under malign influences. Indeed she does not think this man was, rather being traumatised - and that is a concern always with those who have been through so much. She says that Henryk and the Tymount Ten's presence is, however, reassuring.

A man named Mach arrives in the camp, greeting the refugees with a soft smile and gentle tone, having apparently heard of their plight and begins to see to many, asking some rather basic questions of the group;
"Are you alright? Are you feeling well? Do you need to talk about things?"
The thirty something year old seems to move from individual to individual, asking if they're adjusting alright and if they require anything beyond what's been offered and seems to be assessing the mental state of each of them. One in particular catches his eye; Alma. Approaching her with the same warmth, he asks her similar questions of her thoughts of being above ground, of her new future freedom and her plans, all with that discerning set of eyes.
