Hello
I spent 66605 gold buying the Iridescent Ioun stone from the Thayan merchant in Sshamath
Reason for it was the immunity to Cloudkill, Stinking cloud and Mind Fog
My character fights by draining everyone nearby (Cloudkill) which ive been casting at the edge of me so i dont get hit
When i saw this item my eyes lit up!
Sadly i am not immune to anything this belt states, i get dazed by Stinking cloud, i lose constitution from cloudkill and i have not tested Mind fog
Is it posible to fix it ? i really want to stand in my cloudkill while surrounded by enemies

Unfortunately immunities to spells that aren't targeted at your PC directly do not work.
It's a known bug and AFAIK impossible to fix.
I'm not sure why that item exists, I think you should ask the DM team for a refund.

Having done some reading
It looks like immunity to Poison would also work to negate the cloudkill effects
https://nwn2.fandom.com/wiki/Cloudkill
There is no descriptor, yet if you have poison immunity you will be immune to this spells effects entirely, and if you are immune to death then the death effects will not apply.
Funnily enough, it explicitly says Undead are immune, but only by virtue of them being immune to poison and ability score penalties. Other creatures have this too, such as Constructs.

Re: Iridescent Ioun Stone
Poison immunity does indeed counter Cloudkill effects entirely
I tested it by making a grey dwarf and casting the spell near me.
I can obtain poison immunity a few ways..
1) Gray dwarf
2) lvl 9 Druid
3) lvl 11 monk
4) Iron body
I want to RP a Drow arcane caster so that rules out 1 - 3
number 4 with Iron body.. well how would i cast cloudkill after that ? it gives spell failure
Are there any items ingame that give Poison immunity ? i want to replace the Iridescent ioun stone since it is utterly useless
If not, i will have to think of another character build

Not entirely sure if it works differently, but the spell Shadow Shield gives immunity to all necromantic spells. Does that immunity function differently than immunity to specific spells?
Also, you can use a Wand of Death Ward to be immune to all the bad stuff for 35 minutes per use.

Not on BG. Deathward was nerfed to not provide protection vs ability drainzhazz wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 1:55 pm Not entirely sure if it works differently, but the spell Shadow Shield gives immunity to all necromantic spells. Does that immunity function differently than immunity to specific spells?

Technically along with the deathward nerf, Neutralize Poison was also updated to make you immune to poison for 10 minutes per caster level, but my understanding is it doesn't work right... Not sure if anyone is working to fix it or not.

It was said to be fixed in the most recent update. I haven't' had a chance to try and confirm it, though.chad878262 wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 2:55 pm Technically along with the deathward nerf, Neutralize Poison was also updated to make you immune to poison for 10 minutes per caster level, but my understanding is it doesn't work right... If that is the case, then the amulet Periapt of Proof Against Poison should cover most needs. It has a one-use-per-day Neutralize Poison (5), which lasts for 50 minutes. Long enough to reset with ever rest.Rhifox wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 3:00 pmIt was said to be fixed in the most recent update.
