A hooded male with blood stain encrusted boots and pants would enter the sewers from the surface of Bauldur’s Gate city. To fade out from the city itself, not seen again, at least in the same context, if at all.

Later...

Propaganda would be sighted would litter the sewers and under city of Bauldur’s Gate by way of an individual, it states;
Are you tired of being stepped on by those fed by silver spoons? Are you tired of living in a ditch because claimed higher society tells you to do so? My brothers and sisters, it is time to show the rest that no longer will you allow being displaced within our beloved city because society tells you to do so, rise up. Become the warriors of purpose, do not feed on the table scraps from those so-called high borns. Take back what is yours rightfully. Show that tyranny is not to be tolerated. Show that you are just as important as they are, and prove to them they can’t function without you.

Show the rest what you deserve, and prove to them, not through words, but actions. Walls may crumble. Towers may burn, loved ones may die, but in the end, it is us, the common citizen, who shall prevail. It is time we rally up and fight for what one believes in. No longer talks will be tolerated. The time to act is now.

Rise and be the warrior in what you believe in. Fight for yourselves, fight for your brothers and sisters, fight to take it all back.
After years of trying to give others a chance to prove to me they can shape up here, I have run out of patience. The numbers of nwn2 overall dropping in the past few years have told me the path others truly want to take. Actions speak louder than words.

It's not worth the investment.

Radiant Scout

Unread post by mastajabba »

The Radiant Scout can be seen out there patrolling the Ducal Lands and lending aid to Flaming Fists Patrols when encountered. Along the way he’d Tally-Ho the people make short chat and continue to carry on his watch over the good gods fearing people of Baldur’s Gate. Keeping them save from the wicked and vile.

Always his deep rich green cloak with a rich embroidered Order of the Radiant Heart symbol on his back a small wooden carved gold horned unicorn head looking to the left hangs from his neck.

Over the past few days, that lanky, fidgety elf that was seen pacing around the fountains in the Northern Farmlands can be seen visiting the Elfsong frequently. He doesn't seem to really order anything, just seems to be there to people watch and jot down notes while muttering to himself.

Others in the homes dotting the Farmlands would also note this very same elf has been making rounds and asking questions about some fellows who had died some months back rather unexpectedly or if any neighbors have been acting oddly.

Following a pattern of introducing themselves to various locals and groups, Dreadmaster Vadim Morozov and his wife Yadira Morozov were seen boarding the Siren's Song last night, seeking to speak with the Captain of the ship, Fenix Wandersoul.

Upon returning from patrols along the Sword Coast, the Radiant Scout receives orders from the Grand Knight and he saluted and goes to his assigned tasks. A slight frown as he would not spend the afternoon getting drinks at the Lyre. But at the table in the Barracks getting copies of reports together for the request…

“Bleh… I’m a man of action… not some quill necked scribe at some Wizard’s tower…

The Ivory Herald Writer's Showcase Competition

Anyone new to the Sword Coast can find plenty of ways to entertain themselves. Some might go for a pint at one of the many local taverns or listen to a song at one of Baldur’s Gate’s many stages. This is all good and well; but those amongst the scattered campsites of the region do not need to go far to find a great storyteller or minstrel. Some of our most talented writers, musicians, and poets grace our company more often than we could imagine. One of such talented individuals is the subject of our Interview, Cyrah Ro’thuro. Known for his dark clothes and striking appearance; this minstrel was selected by the Ivory Herald as our winner for the Writers Showcase Competition. Director Torvald Goodmane can be quoted as stating:

“Writer Cyrah Ru'othro demonstrates an excellent knowledge of poetry and composition. He maintains an impressive anapestic tetrameter while telling a cohesive story.”

So where did our writer get his start on the Sword Coast? What inspired him to write poetry? I was fortunate enough for the bard to grant me an interview to bring you the tale.

I started our interview here in Baldur’s gate at the home of the minstrel. It was a simple home found in the East Gate Distdistrict. Mundane at first glance, I knocked on the door and was greeted by the raven visage of the dark poet. His home was welcoming and decorated with paintings he’s gathered and created over the years. Each of them is visually intriguing, if not weighted by the vulgarity of the subject.

The two of us sat down to discuss his most recent work and the history of his art. Originally from Neverwinter, Cyrah began his journey like many adventurers finding work here and there. He spent some time around the city before joining together with a troupe of adventurers.

The group was made of an array of misfits from different walks of life. A druid, slinger, and wizard; each of them as full of character as the last. The bard went on to weave a tale about each of them. Their slinger, a man as sharp as the precision of his glass eye. Morgrog Stonejaw; “Slaughter” for short, to name a few. Then, there was their druid, Linnia; a feral woman and dear friend of Cyrah.

Over the years, the troupe took jobs that many others would avoid. They traveled through the heartlands of orc infested woods, slaying the beasts, and reclaiming the region from the savages and bandits. They were successful in their efforts, but the townsfolk in the local settlements found their methods unsavory; Cyrah explained. This would bring the eventual and brutal end to the troupe. In the tragic loss of his friends, I asked him about the days after. How did this change him? How did he carry on? The answer may surprise some, but the elf never held on to the event. Rather, he held on to the good and joy his friends brought him over the years. Truthfully, he could only look back fondly of his companions. He left the Neverwinter region and traveled to Baldur’s Gate where he resides as a citizen today.

His most recent work includes his contribution to the Ivory Herald: “Op’s Adventures in Another Land - Through his Red Rimmed Glasses”. I asked Cyrah about his work and where he draws his creative inspiration. The minstrel explained he enjoys stories of misfortune, death, and mockery. While some find his writings unorthodox, he genuinely enjoys sharing stories and music with those happy to listen.

“Poetry is an expression of art, skill, and pleasure. Feel free to ask for a performance any time. I am friendly”

He explained as he told me about his performances around the Sword Coast. Cyrah can be seen everywhere from celebrations to campfires. So what’s to come next for the minstrel? Cyrah didn’t mention anything specific, but stated he would like to begin a book series. So we’ll look forward to its publication until then.

I asked the bard to leave us with a quote. He responded in kind:

“You can only be fully happy as your true self, and any who seek to take away what you are for their own sake, shall take more as long as you give it.”

I want to thank Cyrah for her participation in the Ivory Herald’s Showcase Competition and the opportunity to interview him. The last fen days of research have proven interesting to say the least. For further reviews, interviews, and perspectives of the Sword Coast, please look forward to the Ivory Herald’s future publications.

Fliers go up in and around Baldur's Gate, its surrounding lands, and at the Friendly Arm Inn.

Summer Games

Midsummer 1357

Baldur's Gate

The church of Tymora, and the city of Baldur's Gate invites you all!

People are what make any city or land come alive. Nobles may rule, adventurers might defeat great evils, and heroes may be remembered for their sacrifices. But it is the people, who make all these things possible, and worth the effort. Ordinary people and commoners, who, despite the trials of these contested lands, continue to make a living here. Stable hands, millers, carpenters, shipwrights, soldiers. The list is long, and all have suffered in recent years. Yet they remain. They persevere, and are the unsung heroes of society.

It is time that we honor them.

The Summer GaMes aim to do just that.

Days of festivities and merriment during the Midsummer weekend of 1357 to honor the common man and woman, whom have endured so much.

Performances, carnival rides, game booths, and tournaments will be the order of the day for the entire weekend. With enough food and drink to ensure that no one goes hungry or thirsty!

The Summer Games are proposed and organised by the church of Tymora, her allies, and the dukes of Baldur's Gate. With all proceeds from the fair given to charity for the benefit of the common people.

Should you or your organisation wish to participate in the fair, please contact either Freya Evans, or Adrian Baker at the church of Tymora in Baldur's Gate.

(( July 30th to August 1st, maybe shorter, depending on how many helpers we find ))

=The Broken Hand=

Ser Holgart can be seen at the northern arena quite regularly, training and excercising.

Despite his experience there seems to be something wrong with his right hand, his blows are somewhat amateurish, his edge alignment poor.

Sometimes he looses the grip on his sword and the weapon can be seen flying onto the ground.

Whatever problem his hand has, he does not seem to lose the determination in training using it.

After each session of training he goes back to the Temple of Torm to pray.

Two familiar? shapes were seen back on the Coast, this time, however, the two ex-Dreadlords seemed to be carrying banners of Sharess. When questionned, the woman would confirm that they are, while the man would be evasive, claiming to be in need of a law abidding banner. They would go on to offer their services as charmers to a few onlookers, with words to meet them at a later date around the Friendly Arm Inn.

*In the darkest of the night, a poor woman in rag is often seen near the fields. The frail silhouette prays in the darkness, holding the locket hanging around her neck. She seems to whisper hushed words while she meditates. It seems she comes back each night at Moondark's heart hour.

Someone dumped a sack full of coffee beans by the door of an unremakrable Baldur's Gate building.
Some rumors say this is an abandoned house, others that it's inhabited by a glooming hermit elf.
Nobody knows who did it anyway.
