The planned sermon does not go ahead. Instead, at about the time of the sermon, an unarmoured Thayan Knight is led into the temple of Ilmater for treatment, accompanied by Ameris Santraeger, two individuals bearing Candlekeep insignia and a finely dressed woman.
A commotion occurs within the temple, with raised voices and the sounds of battle being heard...
A half hour afterwards, those who had entered the temple, depart - including the priest Ameris Santraeger, whose face is a blank mask, and whose eyes are rimmed with red, as if tears had been shed. But not many.
He only returns some hours later.
Within the Temple of Ilmater, at the altar of the Broken God, Sister Adolina of Ilmater lies dead. a stab wound in her chest hidden by a blanket and the tender preparations of her Brothers in the temple.
And a notice is placed in public display.
In the Name of Ilmater the Wise, Ilmater the Merciful, Ilmater the Enduring, let it be known:
Sister Adolina of Ilmater has fallen at the hands of an assassin devil in the service of Bhaal.
Her soul lies with the Broken God and her service is done. Let our tears flow for the cruelty she suffered, but let us smile, as her soul is within his holy embrace.
The Ilmatari fear not danger or suffering; and there is no shame in a meaningful death. Let our continued struggle against fear, hunger, disease and pain, on behalf of the weak and needy, stand as the meaning to Adolina's sacrifice.
For she died because of the Broken God's opposition to Bhaal, and my opposition to one of Bhaal's servants. This crime was vengeance for the death of the Barber half a year ago. And the Barber's goal, all along, was to make all in this city too afraid to show compassion that the work of the Ilmatari would wither on the vine. It does not. It endures.
The daggers of the Lord of Murder can slay our bodies, but our beliefs endure through all those whose lives we change. Sister Adolina touched so very many lives, including my own. Let my service to the Broken God honour her, whether it is discharged here, or elsewhere.
And let it be known that the foul fiend that did this deed had its spirit bound in place by the wrath of the Broken God, and its body trapped by Protector Michael Dunn of Candlekeep, and thus met with a final justice at the hands of the Ilmatari.

On Monday there is at first a patrol for the halls of inner light at almost the same time.....and second i have a family visit and it's a holiday here....that way noone of us can take part...please, is not another day possible?
