After the tournament, the notorious ex-pirate (captain) Alistair the Red, can be seen with a large bag over his shoulders walking towards the house were the Mayor resides. He doesn't seem to hide his presence or where he is heading at all. The inhabitants and sailors of Roaringshore begin to wonder a few things.

What is in the bag?

Why is he meeting with the mayor?

Nobody knows... but it can't mean anything good to the Seawolf's crew, that's for sure.

Word has reached the ears of a few within the small port, of a southbound ship purchased in the southern ports. It's said to have made it's way from Calimport up to Waterdavian shores, and now travels due south once more toward Roaringshore- it's true destination... Many now glance toward the Trackless, curiously awaiting first glimpse of what is to be the next cutter to call the shore her home.. The DragonWing

---------------------------------

Will take place at 1900 GMT on Saturday August 30th.

"Below Deck" = Slang for the Broken Goblet Arena

// Some OOC info

These are more guidelines than rules(except for the spells and scrolls as the Arena has spell failure). Break them at your own peril.

-No spells or scrolls. Its a small basement, and IC-ly there wards were put in place to prevent magic from engulfing the room. Due to mechanical limitations of the game, we ask you to respect this rule above all others.

-Everyone is allowed the use of 3 potions per match, provided they do not heal HP in anyway. Haste, Aid, Barkskin are fine. Cure Moderate Wounds, Heal, Greater Restoration would not be.

-Up to 3 uses of HiPS. This is to encourage tactical use of the feat rather than just spamming it every 6 second.

-No ranged weapons, such as crossbows and longbows. You might miss and hit the crowd!!!

Other fun stuff

-We're going to try and have 3 tiers of competitors, based on the "+" tiers the scry uses, and 3 different rewards. Hence, the three different buy-ins.

-Betting limit for each fight to start is 1000 gold. This may change over the course of the event, even before it starts. The goal of the limit is to prevent the absurd 1,000,000 gold bet that we are aware a few characters might be able to put down.

-Death happens in these events. Combatants can mutually agree if the loser dies as a result of the fight.

-The crowd decides whether the loser rides the chute. Dead characters always ride the chute. Characters that did not die may be allowed to return to the arena covered in what is ever at the bottom of the chute.
--------------------------------------

More info may be added. Any questions feel free to PM.

A rumour spreads that Alistair the Red will be issuing a public challenge to Kalma Hellstorm at the night of the tournament. Whether it's true or not, only those gathered will find out.

A band of well-known heroes can be seen appearing out of a portal outside the Sword Arm Inn. They all seemed exhausted but mostly in mellow spirits as they lingered round the collective merchants and shared idle banter and one elf in particular sang a sombre song as the rain pattered down.

Oh my dark Argent Lady
I have held to you dearly
I had asked you to steer me
'Til one cloud-scattered night...
Lost in self righteous anger,
I stumbled as a dancer
Pride blinding understanding
To my sister's troubled plight.

There's the Sword...
And the Song...
And the contempt of The People,
Who say in their pride
They know what's right.
There's the light...
And the dark...
And sad stories with few answers
And a sister I should have helped tonight

In ancient times The People
In imposing hosts they banded
And as Vyshann commanded
Killing storms scorched bare the ground.
And by the dark disaster
The People's kindness was shattered
And swore eternal hatred
So in darkness were they bound

There's the Sword...
And the Song...
And the vengeance of the Fallen
Who say in bitter hate
Don't trust the light.
There's the light...
And the dark...
And a famine of forgiveness
And a wrong that desp'rately needs set a' right

If your sister or your brother
Held deceived by the Weaver
Could you leave him or leave her
In that tangled web of lies?
In humble prayer I ask forgiveness
And hope for a fresh chance
To learn love and a new dance
To see things through different eyes

There's the Sword...
And the Song...
And the Mercy of the Maiden
Who says, "Come live in peace in lands of light!"
There's the Dance...
And the Song...
Of The Silver Light in Darkness,
Showing a path through the darkest night

There's the Sword...
And the Song...
And the Dance of Maiden
Who says, "Come live in peace in lands of light!"
There's the Dance...
And the Song...
And redemption for the fallen
Just open your heart to her guiding light

A note lay forgotten on the counter at the Sword Arm Inn.

The sentences is readable but inkspots and splotches abound from what looks like a rather unsteady hand.

Hey luv, I got that thing you lost when the High Captain smashed your face into the wall at the pit fights. You know where to find me, honest company, your tooth and good rum.

PS. I would avoid calling a beastborn High Captain a hampster again myself but thats me.

PPS. Really.

First Mate Viper could be seen outside the Goblet after the fights, introducing herself to the High Captain and telling him of the DragonWing before it makes port. The conversation seemed to have gone well.

The note that was left at the Inn disappears without a trace, a few gold coins left on the counter in it's place.

From the docks at Roaringshore, one could on the Sea Wolf see a quick flash on the rigging. This instantly brings the ship to attention for those on the dock, and thus the very sudden appearance of green clad people on board is very noticable. Not least, because they seem to disapear just as suddenly as they appeared.

One moment there, and gone the next. Whatever information can be gathered about it from the deckhands, boils down to 'crazy cave witch'.

There lies a rather fine looking mirror in the privy at the tavern in Roaringshore. It looks nice and well made, but since it is placed such that it makes a good target for any pirate wanting to relieve themselves, it isn't quickly taken away.

*On this eve a number of adventurers are seen speaking with the boat man. After some discussion a bag is passed to the boat man from one of the adventurers in a white robe. He seems to dance, and the one adventurer seems to deflated a bit and look a bit silly.

At that point a man in armor with the adventures assaults the boat man, and appears to choke him for some time. The women in white finally finishes her discourse after.

The adventures seem to move off into one of the nearby caves for a bit, and then emerge ward up with magic, making themselves invisible, and taking a path into the center of the island.

Sometime later, some children swear a giant skeleton of a dragon flew over the town, but others say they are all making it up.

The adventures who went into the center of the island are seen some time later, and look less then happy, even defeated.*

Like fog rolling in the grip of a southern wind, rumours from Ulgoth's Beard wash over the 'Shore; tales of death and brutal slayings in the pirate caves below the Beard.

The locals tell that southerners had moved north and taken possession of parts of the pirates cave, some dark-skinned, some speaking strange exotic tongues or wearing bright colours in flashy silks and satins, but clearly all privateers or pirates.

Seems in the past few days a group from the 'Shore, or some as were recognised from those parts, raided the caves, laying waste to the southerners, slaying, beating and slicing them into the rock of the caverns. Few of the local lads were attacked, but the southerners were slain to a man.

The raiders from the 'Shore were also seen to rip the ensigns and colours from the corpses before they liberated one of the southerners ships and made sail back to the 'Shore.
