can some one tell me if the france football team in the OL 2016

And yeah Nyl that finale was so boring, if I had not company I would have fallen asleep or turned it off.

Italy and Germany was most likely the best game aye, but I enjoyed Wales and England as well now that I think of it.

This was most likely the most boring Euro's in a long time and I hope the defensive approach wont become a trend amongst the national teams.

For me Germany vs. Italy was the best game so far. And Germany is for me the deserving champion. Even if they were eliminated thanks to bad luck and very poor use of the chances.

What a deception France and Portugal are! Neither deserves to be called Champion of the Euros for the next 4 years. But then again, they wouldn't be the first to not deserve the crown...

I will not argue the talent displayed on the pitch (where was Pogba all game!?!) but I will have to say this, regarding teamwork and discipline, Portugal deserved to win that specific game without a doubt. Coach Santos had to completely throw out his playbook, retool, analyze and then made the right decisions. His subbing Santiago out for Eder had me completely perplexed until Eder's outside shot.

Also, yes he had his guys playing concrete box for 90% of the game but he did have his backs press up in the last few minutes of the regular time, the last few minutes of the first OT and up until, perhaps even after, the first goal of the second OT. He knew France couldn't keep up there pace and wanted to wait them out, but he wasn't playing for penalties, he was playing to steal the game once France got tired and it worked!

Pepe, Nani and Santiago all played their roles perfectly. Congrats to Portugal for doing what no one thought they could.

Meh, as if Santos had to change a lot because he lost Ronaldo. Portugal has been better usually when Ronaldo isn't on the field.
And it isn't even his own fault, well not only. It is his team mates too who think he is the best and can do anything, which he isn't and cannot. (Ok, he is certainly one of the best players atm, but that doesn't have to be a good thing for the teamwork, which I'm concluding with).
So, no, it wasn't such an effort to write books about. Sure, Portugal defended quite well. The Portuguese defense did have timing and positioning. But the French offense was just a joke sometimes. So again not that great a job.

They won. That's it. It is the same like 2004 in Portugal with the winner Greece. Did they deserve it? Hardly.

Another example? 1994 in the US: what a disappointing finale that game had been as well. And both teams were not playing especially well throughout the tournament either. Brazil and Italy for those who don't remember. Decision in penalty shots and Brazil won.


I will only remember a few things from this Euro of too many bad matches:

Iceland and Wales, the revolution of the "small" teams.

Spain got eliminated early on, yay.

And a few series were ended in this tournament. Italy lost to Germany, Germany lost to France, and France didn't win in a home tournament like in 1938.

Rui Patricio. Nuff said. France lost because of one man!

But that's not the whole picture, really: Raphael played strong. Cavalho was always there saving arses when needed. Eder struck the winning goal hard and shamed Lloris.

It was France's title to loose the whole time, and you know what? They did, to the better strategy employed by an actual Portuguese team.

At least 1994 was a good tournament. This has been the absolutely worst tournament I've ever seen (of Euros or world cup). Poor pacing, poor quality. Looking on it feels like players are getting worse than the ones before them. The World cup of 2006 was a blast in comparison.

Also, don't forget, Portugal winning against France (last 10 games was French victories, since the 1970's or something like that)

True I forgot about that.

There is one explanation for the poor performance. Football players don't get enough mental rest. Many are burned out.

They can do it physically but the constant need of playing at a high level without being able to recover must be tough.

Add to that the constant surveillance by media and fans and it can get very demanding.

Sure they get a lot of money, but money doesn't motivate enough after a certain amount.
