Rumors spread of a construction project to build a military watch tower and a caravan way station near and on the mountain pass through the Cloud Peak Mountains; to be financed by Lady Narasida Zakine-Albrongardo of Calimshan and Amn -- for the time being privately, without official backing from her family. Some say that the project is to assist Amn in fortifying and protecting its northern borders with less men and resources, to aid in its pivot to the south along its border with civil-war-torn Tethyr, others say that it is to pump the name of Lady Narasida Zakine and to profit her noble house in the City of Coin of Athkatla, by increasing and securing trade along the mountain pass, others still say that it is to empower the Helmite mission in the region, but only time will tell which reason(s) hold(s) truth.

Rumor's spread of eight people in Naskel dieing to a horrific plague. Some of the locals from Beregost and Gullykin start the avoid the town, although normal traffic on the trade route remains ignorant and continues to flow.

When asked about the matter, the townspeople of Naskel are quick to point out six people who were saved, through the use of powerful divine magic from the local temple. They insist the plague has been stopped.

The priests of the temple can be seen around town spending gold frivolously, as if it suddenly it is plentiful.

Travelleres and pilgrims, passing by at the Temple of Auril, speak of a solid frozen corpse lying inside the centre of the temple. The remains seemed to belong to a once goodlooking woman with red hair, the scent of exquisite perfume still hanging around her.

Some would say that the priestesses looked satisfied with the modality of the execution.

The Paladin Wai Li is seen by local Nashkel residents as sprinting out of the Temple of the Guardian with a sack containing something, something akin to a stone sized item, making great haste to the north. She appears to briefly stop in the Northern Lights Inn, asking for a cup of condensed water before she heads further north. When asked about her business, she replies "transporting temple property to the north." After taking her leave from the inn, the paladin is again seen by locals in Beregost and, finally, in Candlekeep, where it is rumored that she leaves with the bag no longer containing anything in it.

Hunters and adventurers report corpses of monsters strangely mutilated. In the Frost Keep, a recently slain King and his retinue have been found all with empty eye-sockets, their eyes mysteriously removed. Some also lost hair and skin sections. Just as well, In the secluded caves along the Amnian side of the Cloud Peaks, lizard warriors were found missing scales, hands, or their bodies fully drained of blood. Along the route, trackers even observed traces of plantlife harvested.

Some merchants reported seeing the ghost of a woman on the road just North of Beregost. The ghost did not communicate in any way, instead attacking anything and anyone which crossed its path. Caution is advised when crossing the area north of Beregost.

Rumor has it that two hooded elves, Mendel and Rai were sitting by the gate in Nashkel and talking for hours. Many approached, amongst them two dwarves, but were quickly driven away by Rais' insults. Rumor has it that oddly enough, Rai was heard complimanting Mendel, but those that know Rai, quickly dismiss it as a lie.

The patrons of the FAI speak of a handsome Moon Elf, with a melodious voice and immaculate clothing and armor, asking for a human named Aelcar and the Lady Marigold Winters. The people at the bar, though drunk, noticed an excited manner in which this Elf asked for them.

A young stable boy tugs the Moon Elf's sleeve until he lowers his hear so that he can speak to him privately. Right after delivering the message, he runs away, back to his daily work.

Off at a table, a hooded waif lifts a mug to soft lips, watching and listening with idle interest. Staring straight ahead, it does not register the would-be paige. But should the handsome Elf lad have a conversation aside, the figure orders a drink at the counter a bit closer. Just one of the crowd. Idle words to the barkeep and patrons at the side.

The NTE has set up a stand in Nashkel near the temple of Helm to serve the incoming Helmite pilgrims from all over the Realms that are beginning to visit the site where the avatar of Helm was rumored to have appeared.

Amongs the wares you can find many religious items like small Helm avatar figures and prayer books that the pilgrims can buy.
