I've brought it to the attention of the lead developer and programmer. Hopefully we can troubleshoot it, or, failing that, rollback the last update if the crashing continues.
does it appear that a rollback will be nessasary?

Should be up and running?

Also, not clear on rollback yet. Still waiting for the experts to chime in on our staff forum.

Something is. Up again and immediately into superlag.

And down again.

Hm. I think Duster restarted it the first time (they're working on update material). But not sure on the second. I still think it might have something to do with Friday's update, as nothing's changed server hardware side.

Other servers are crashing at the same time.

Something in the last update really screwed things up. Crashes have been more frequent and lag spikes/downtimes far more lengthy (taking around 30 minutes of straight lag before finally crashing last night, and being down for just as long before restarting today).

There weren't even that many people on right now, and there wasn't a merry festival of casting, so I reckon you're right.

Well Tales of the Moonsea went down at the same time, but I don't see BGTSCC 2 going down. So I'm a bit confused.

BGTSCC 2 is our Quality Control test server. The two don't really communicate with each other, and share different file sets much of the time (since 2 has content that hasn't yet been released for testing).

I've pinged Dust and Ras for a review of Friday's update. If we can't work out what's causing the issues, we'll roll it back to the last stable server save. Your characters shouldn't be affected, I don't think.

I just assumed they both ran on the same physical server, and thus if something affecting the server caused one to go down, like during the DDoS attacks, they both would.

They are, but I don't think it's an attack that's causing the issues on server 1. I think it's a snag in the update. Rasael thinks it might have something to do with the Bigby summons, so we're working on deploying a fix for that. But no ETD just yet on when we'll be online and stable.

For the next little while, I'd recommend forum catch-up RP work or finding something else to do! We will update you all once things appear to be running smoothly again.
