The Neverwintan man by the name of Osric can be seen spending time in the Palace District of Baldur's Gate in recent days, cozying up to local lords and ladies alike whenever an opportunity arises. Honeyed words and local gossip are offered in introduction, but he soon bends the conversation toward a name and an alias: Lord Engar Hemmington, Lord Trembling and the Tormentor. If any had information on these names, Osric would tactfully make it clear that he wishes to hear it and that he would be willing to trade coin or aid to secure the knowledge.

A tiefling can be seen in a grey tunic digging through the trash looking for scraps of equipment and salvageable scrolls. She takes a bite of a half eaten apple and scurries away.

The elven priestess known as Dove has been seen less by the caravan campfire of late. Those who have seen her moving about can tell she's heavily warded and, when she doesn't think anyone is looking, appears tired. Most seem to lose track of her shortly after she leaves the city, but farmers have mentioned seeing a strange silvery-white rabbit glistening with magic and heading southward a lot of late.

DM Rosette wrote:Despite dark tidings from the north, and the cities own recent troubles, trade in Baldur's Gate seems to be flourishing, with several prominent merchant houses expanding their business. Those paying attention to such matters would notice the following:
Fountain of Gold, a well standing house within the city seems to be aggressively expanding its shares in raw silver and silver-work.
House Pirelle, having already a strong background in grain trade began expanding its business into pottery, laying down a network and pouring investments all over the city.
House Madamas, hailing originally from Tethyr, this merchant house has operated within Baldur's Gate for decades, moving majority of its business to the city once the Tethyrian civil war started. They have been expanding into jewelry over the years, however recently their rise in that market began to climb exponentially.
What prompted this "boom" is anyone's guess.
Those with such connections might hear of a socially awkward blond man asking around town about the three businesses that seem to have very suddenly risen to prosperity. His questions are detailed and numerous but seem benign in nature rather than accusational.
Those with
extremely keen eyes and memories might notice a hooded figure in dark colors skulking around the establishments, one after the other, on alternating days. The first day, he shows up outside around lunchtime, and simply watches all the comings and goings, making notes on them and extra notes of anything unusual. Oddly, after business is closed for the day, he remains and continues this, all night and until mid afternoon the following day. Then, tiredly, he wanders off towards the harbor. A day passes (presumably for rest) and then the long vigil repeats at the second, and after another rest day, the third establishment.
His behavior indicates he is looking for something specific but whatever it is is known only to him.

Finneaus Du'Veil, gem merchant and member of the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange would make a point to reach out to each of these costers/houses through appropriate channels requesting an appointment to discuss business opportunities and make the services of the exchange available to them. The correspondence would include the return contact information at the Exchange building near the Eastern Gate. Finn would notify the employee's at the front reception counters to be on the lookout for any correspondence coming from the three costers the rumor mill discusses. He would also put out feelers for any other interesting opportunities with merchant companies on the rise that may be looking to procure the multitude services of the Exchange, be it in storage of funds or acquisition of goods such as building materials, labor force or any other logistical assistance.

An elf named Cylissa Tanyathor, a tiefling named Dasha and a human named Mill could be seen asking questions regarding Elspeth Siverleaf, Eowiel and the
black ooze incident that happened outside the Temple of Illmater.
As it was getting dark, they decided to give up for the night and continue the search for information the next day.

A peach-blonde dame is seen asking about and then buying no less than 20 casks of water.
After purchasing the water the peach-blonde makes her way to the dry-docks where final documents are written up, payment is exchanged and a ship is released.
The ship is seen sailing out of the docks slowly, testing the waters as it makes its way back Ulgoth's Beard.

Malign Ashmeddai is seen at the Temple of Ilmater. The tiefling looks slightly uncomfortable to be there, but he is seen talking to priests there about two things. First, Malign asks about the black oozes. (For reference, see:
viewtopic.php?p=814879#p814879 .)
"I was told about the oozes by another adventurer. And I am nay an expert on the behavior of oozes... but it does seem odd that such an event would occur. It can nay be coincidence, aye? 'What power is behind this?' is what I want to know."
The 'magi' also asks about the orphanage near the Temple. He donates 1,000 gold to the orphan's care, in what seems like an uncharacteristic display of charity.
"My childhood in Thay was quite harsh. I would nay see these children's lives be so."
After giving his donation, the tiefling leaves the Temple. He looks both relieved and intrigued. Malign heads towards the Shelf of Many Books, to continue his research...

A man steps into the Temple of Ilmater, the Symbol of the Radiant Heart seen upon his cloak, and helm tucked under arm. He gave a lopsided smile to the Priestess and inquired if an amount of money had recently been donated to this Temple in the past few days by a Brondan? He describes the man to have an eye patch, beard, humble clothing, and he had a ring of hair like some older priests. He gives the reason that he wanted to know if the amount he had given made it to a Tomas and Julie, two Orphans who take residence here.

The silver-haired half elf known as Wren Di'Corvi-Blackthorne would be seen arriving at the city. She'd stride with a grim purpose, her boot heels cracking against the cobblestones as she walked. Any that greeted her would be given a nod, or a wave, but she would not pause in step. Her path first carried her to the Flaming Fist Citadel, and from there, to the Duchal Palace.
Once her task was complete, she'd be seen making her way north once more.

On Tarsakh 15, during Shaundakul's holy day of
Windride, people in the eastern farmlands of Baldur's Gate might see an old woman in worn-out robes turn into a gaseous form and drift north with the wind.
