The White Mask Theater & Performers Guild - RP Thread

This past tenday, the White Mask Theatre performed an Open Stage Night outside of Doron Amar in the Wood of Sharp Teeth. It was there, in the clearing of the wood, that a splendid performance was had, with the theme of Heroes, in honor of the dwarves of the Ironfaar clan and Slayers currently taking refuge in Doron Amar.

The Theatre Director, Mia Desdemona introduced the night with a poem of solidarity for the dwarves.

Next, Zachariah Delmar then spoke briefly about the dwarves as well.

For the next performance, Ralston Dash, Louise, and Aqel performed a Krich Bigsword romance piece.

Elycia then sang a song of the dwarven quest for the Great Anvil.

After Elycia, the half-elf Mealir sang a piece of the renowned Taark Shanat.

Mia Desdemona then sang a lovely song of battle and victory.

Vanira then performed a tale of Codey Lightfoot, a halfling that tricked a dragon.

Valqis, the Assistant Director of the White Mask Theatre, then sang a song of soldier named Seqmek.


In the end, votes were cast from the audience for the best piece, and Ralston, Louise, and Aqel won the prize gold. Patrons of the White Mask Theatre look forward to the next Open Stage Night!

[Mia Desdemona]

The damage in the Palace District is severe; the Hall of Wonders lays in ruin and various surrounding buildings are seen with their roofs caved in and ash and smoke rising from the still smouldering rubble lying within these few days later. The three figures walk slowly though the district stopping at each destroyed and damaged building along their route. They shake their heads in shock and disbelief, their emotions circling through confusion and then anger at the sight of it. They express sorrow and loss at some sights, but muted relief when they find others still intact.

They move through the Theatre's gates and Mia places a hand on the base of the ruined statue in the front and looks past it up to the broken windows. Valqis looks up to the building with a mixed expression of sorrow and hope.
"tlhe windows are breaked, but we are very luky."
She looks past the Theatre to a manor less fortunate and sighs deeply. "we must Help tlhe peoples, this Sity"
Mia nods in agreement and follows her gaze to the manse.
They talk back and forth of plans to open the Theatre to the citizens who had lost their homes; they talk of bringing in blankets, providing food, putting up signs and bringing people in out of the rain and cold.
They survey the benches in the hall and greet Karl with great relief. With plans set Valqis goes to organise the sign for the doors, Mia leaves to ask the inns for spare blankets and Karl sets about sweeping up the broken glass.

Herran goes to the theater as he often does, but this time he is in search of Mia.

"Miss Mia" he bows deeply with a wave of his hand " I have heard of the nobles fund raiser and would like to suggest we aid them as we can."

"By means of entertainment. I know i am not a member of the theater, as of yet, though i look forward to that day. But, who better to draw a crowd and raise spirits then a troupe from the theater to provide music and song?"

"I do of course in this express my own desire to be a part ... as an .. uhm ... future member?"

He continues the conversation for a bit more, complimenting her attire and the wonderful way in which she has used the theater to aid those of the district.

Herran has been seen nightly now for some time in the theater, practicing his lines and singing a song that goes from one of dominating command to near total desperation.

He occasionally bows to any who my applaud, but is always asking those willing to stay and listen what they think. With honest effort he tries to change slightly to their suggestions, but always talks and laughs with them afterwards.

With the opening of the theater to the public after Tiamats rise, there never seems a lack of critiques.

[Moonlit_Axe]

A young man, with his beard carefully trimmed, enters the building of a White Mask Theater and looks around in complete awe.

He studies Theater's interior and after awhile, asks Karl if anyone is around to who he could speak. Not getting a definite answer, he accidently sets off the magic bell and almost runs off, scared by a loud noise.

Moments later, he composes himself, puffs his chest and awaits patiently for anyone to come around so he could talk to them.

((Is it possible to set up a meeting? Who should I contact?))

Karl hands the man a flyer for the upcoming Karsus' Folly show and comments that the theatre has been looking for extra's. He says Mia has just stepped out but if he leaves her a note with a name she will contact him, otherwise he should attend the next rehearsal.

Herran, having received a key to the theater after rehearsal and getting a quick tour from Mia, spends long hours exploring every door, every cupboard, checking and testing every chair and sofa within the back rooms.

He then goes down to the basement and enjoys a long hot bath, after which seeks out an empty bunk with a chest at the foot. He places his extra instruments and set of clothes in one and settles down finally to sleep in a bottom bunk, the excitement of the day and rehearsal finally subsiding enough to let him fall asleep.

No sooner has he fallen into a deep sleep then he hears magic bells going off. Startled he reaches for his sword and leaps up to his feet.

Having never slept in a bunk before, either top or bottom, he comes up under the side rail of the bunk above him nearly splitting his skull open and knocking himself out.

Minutes? Hours? Days? later he awakes, head aching horribly and dried blood covering his bed covers and one side of his face.

Looking around, still half dazed, he stands and with a bit of help from the furniture wanders out to greet another day with an aching smile.

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Katir Irian, a traveler of the area, and i have a special request if you are able to do it. I have a very old flute, made from an elven friend of mine. The flute has been greatly damaged and i was wondering if there would be any way you'd be able to repair the flute. I do not want to just replace it because of its value to myself. If you can help in any way, please let me know, thank you very much for your time.

Herran reads the letter as he always does while at the theater and smirks to himself as he shakes his head "I would like to look at this flute, to see if it is yet repairable, but, it would seem the one who left the letter, left no forwarding address."

He writes a short reply on the back of the letter and pins it up above the droop box.

Dear Katir,

I would love to help you in the repair of this flute, but, would need to look at it first to see just how badly damaged it is. If you would like to leave me an address as to where I can find you, I would be happy to take a look.

After the rehearsal of the upcoming play, Telia Navra went to ponder for a moment at one of the White Mask Theater's statues. Much to her surprise she wasn't alone. While the others had been backstage and chatting a stranger had found her way in. And what a barbarian it was! Unwashed and dressed as if she lived off what the wilds had to offer. If the Theater ever needed a model for a barbarian woman, this one would be excellent. Telia managed to maintain her composure even if it took some effort to not noticeable breath through her mouth instead of her nose. At first Telia had thought to call for guards and have the barbarian thrown out but she proved to be a tad more intelligent than Telia first would have given her credit for. Nerys Battlesong was what she introduced herself as and at first thought she had walked in to one of the local temples. Nerys seemed quite curious of the large building and the purpose it served and expressed an interest in sharing songs and stories for anyone willing to listen. Telia replied they didn't have any Open Stage Nights scheduled at the moment, when they did, they would be advertised in town. Telia might not approve of the way the barbarian dressed but knew people were always eager to hear heroic tales and depictions of battle.

YES !! Herran nearly shouts as he sees a special package had been delivered to the theater.

Now we are ready to put on the show. He grins as he looks at it with great satisfaction.

He then tells any within range. Alright everyone ... the final dress rehearsal will be //// This Wednesday 3/20/13 at 6 PM EDT/// followed by our opening night on /// Sunday 3/24/13 4 PM EDT///

He then goes to Mila and Telia. What say you both put out posters, each slightly different from the other announcing the date of our opening night ... don't forget to put our sponsors name on them too ! He chuckles.

Several boxes of prints arrive at The White Mask Theater. Telia soon begins to hand these out and make sure that they stay visible on bulletin boards and distributed in stores and taverns.

Mealir delivers a letter to the White Mask Theater, it reads:

Greetings performers of the White Mask theater,

A festival to celebrate the spring will be organized the 31 Ches. , in the eastern farmlands. Any bard or performer is more than welcome to participate, and the most talented shall also be rewarded for their performances !

If you want to organize something more important and need me send a word to Mealir Ostirel in the harbour.
