A bug eyed man is acting strangely near the Friendly Arm Inn. Weird gets weirder as he starts speaking in tongues, etching a circle with strange runes into the ground, breaking into hysterical laughter, then proceeding to snap his own neck and fall over the circle. Resident eccentric Teris hastily scrawls a copy of the man's drawing before it is removed by Paladin Arkaine HalfOrken. Priest of Illmater James White takes the body to the local guards and prepares it for buriel. ... A familiar scent is caught lingering in the air.... something... quite... puzzling....

A mysterious lantern archon appeared in the FAI. Several adventurers attempted to communicate with it. It seemed to speak past them... of cold and darkness... under great frozen mountains... deeper into the dark, where cold gave way to heat... and pain... The archon struggled to maintain its form... it then faded, unable to maintain it...

The party headed south, to seek out this cold dark deep place which yielded to heat and fire after the descent.

Oog Cack Mepoots, Part 12

Word is abuzz as Nashkel Trade Emporium's James White, Triston Ebonhawk and the unlikely Rai come limping out, bloody and beaten, of a Nashkel cottage. The story told the guards is as follows:

"We were investigating the deaths of our miners, the cult that has been turning men insane. We found a cottage and entered to find men in hoods. We tried to find the root of the cult, but instead found demons.. everyone a demon. And in the basement a ritual circle.. Ilmater have mercy. We did our best, but everyone died. Maybe if I'd not been so brash... maybe if I'd known more... god..."

James is nearly in tears by the end of his recount and hobbles away in shame and horror.

Sweet Den of Iniquity

An exotic dancer was found dead with a shiv in her side in an inn room in Beregost. The inn room had seemed to have been converted into some sort of gambling den. Several patrons were found within the room beaten unconscious.

One of the patrons - being picked up the following morning by an angry wife - spun a tale of a well armored warrior arguing with a stunningly beautiful comely woman in blue. Shortly after, the warrior, with an armored and a robed companion proceeded to pummel the inn's patrons. When they awoke. There was no sign of the warrior and his two companions, or the lovely comely woman in blue.

Patrons downstairs at the time attest to seeing no one by any of the descriptions given come downstairs.

A lovely young woman enjoying herself in the Belching Dragon Tavern in Nashkel was abducted by a brazen wizard. A local guard and an adventurer clad in furs attempted to stop the mad wizard, who teleported away with the maiden. Several cowled wizards appeared to investigate, vanishing again after a brief investigation.
