An immaculately prepared scroll arrives at the Song of the Morning Temple, addressed to the Most Radiant Kelddath Ormlyr and sealed with blue wax with the eight-pointed star of Mystra. The courier also delivers a small jewellery case with the scroll and waits to see if the Song of the Morning wish to post a reply before jumping back on his horse and departing again towards the north.

A few Lathanderites and the Most Radiant can be seen moving upstairs in the middle of the day.

Quiet words echo throughout the closed room for a few hours as various topics are discussed.

After the room empties and silence huddles in the deepest corners, a heavy burden falls on the Knight-Commander's shoulders.

He eyes the mural of Lathander and stands from his seat as the light of the sun's rays beckon him outside.

With the return of activity in the temple, Eleanore returns to her duties and is seen once more around the temple, offering warm smiles and freshly baked treats to guests.

A dwarf by the name of "Voltmar" or perhaps "Nain Rouge of clan Dungeondelver" informs the paladins in front of the temple of a masked woman in all black and a human with a bow summoning a devil near the gates just outside of town. He claims to have killed the devil before fleeing to find help. He then procededs to berate the paladins for being "typical long leggas" and accused them of being related to the human as to him they all look the same.

Eldarian can be seen outside the Song of the Morning carrying separate conversations with Templar Brian and Templar Ross.

They can each be seen pointing to the north end of town for a time before gesticulations flow toward the temple doorstep.

"Right outside of town?" The Dawnknight states with a crinkled brow and flared nostrils. “Did you get descriptions of those who did such? The names of those who righteously brought us such information?”

A shake of the man’s head is seen as the Templars both look at each other with a shrug and then murmur a few words to Eldarian.

“This cannot stand,” Eldarian grumbles with some conviction. His gaze grows sharp as it moves back to the northern end of town and he stalks off, armor clanking heavily with each movement he makes.

Eldarian’s golden brows crinkled as he stared at the letter left on the front pew. His eyes pulled over the mysterious seal time and again and then the words brazenly placed on the front.

"For Al'maire."

His gloved fingers pulled toward it, hesitated, and then danced back. He had been playing a dangerous game lately; the news within could tip the scales either toward a better victory or bitter loss.

He exhaled through his nose to even his thoughts and in the blink of an eye the letter had been scooped into the man’s fingers.

Heavy footsteps sounded throughout the temple as Eldarian made his way into the stairwell for privacy as he tore open the letter.

His eyes flowed over the writing, quickly; almost too quickly as he held his breath.

“I trust you'll recognize the significance of the missives enclosed.”

He exhaled and placed his forehead against the cool stone wall.

Another piece to the puzzle. . .

A roll of sealed parchment is delivered to the Song of the Morning Temple, addressed to Lady Berea Merriman. Without clear knowledge of Berea's living conditions or location, the courier asks that it be passed it on to the druidess as he was assured her presence passes through said location often. The letter itself is scribed in elegantly fluid calligraphy, marked with the maroon wax seal of a thorned rose.

After today's morning sermon, Morninglord Neschera brings the attention to a letter that has gone out to various goodly organisations along the Sword Coast this day, in the hope that her fellow Lathanderites, affiliated or not with the Song of the Morning, will take a moment to read it.

Righteous of the Coast

A new undead menace to all the goodly folk has revealed itself within the Vaults in the Field of the Dead, a skeletal champion warded in golden metal. Instead of outright killing its foes and reanimating them, it uses dark magic to turn them into its unwitting agents that might spy on the land and other righteous organisations. Its exact motives are unknown, but we worry that they will affect the Sword Coast at large.

We had hoped to write this letter with a mind to call the righteous together into a host, composed of many orders and faiths, but one intent - to come together to crusade in fervour, and render holy judgement on this one of the myriad threats that plague the lands.

To remind us all that we are not alone in our service. And to come together not as a series of isolated candles. But as a great, purifying flame.

Whatever lays within the depths, whether lich born of man or draconic, or the golden revenant itself, must be met head on. The evil within the vault must be subjected to righteous judgement. It must be put down for the good of the innocents under threat. It must be illuminated by the unfettered dawn.

It is our hope that you will join together with us under the banners of your Orders and Faiths, so that we may march together to end this menace.

And we pray such holy resolve will spill over into further joint efforts of this nature.

Knight-Commander Eldarian Al'Maire
Morninglord Neschera
Brother Ameris Santraeger

////Hi! We are hoping to run an RP event whereby we get a bunch of holy types together to do some faith RP and, as well, put some hapless undead to the sword!

While we are going to run the RP by the DM team it is likely to be a player driven event only, but the aim is for the various goodly characters on the coast to get together and do something fun.

Once we have an idea of the PCs interested we will set a date. We are thinking a weekend will likely be best, in GMT evening.

Please respond if you can to the forum accounts Miasmata, Considerate_ and Kleomenes

*Morninglord Loriah, exhausted, returns to her room to rest. She refuses to speak to anyone in passing down the halls with heavily armored footsteps. Once in her room, she slams the door, throws her armor to the floor in a fit of anger, then falls to her knees with bowed head, clutching her holy symbol as she faces the East and sobs for a moment to mourn the loss of man she did not even know.

As the first light of the morning drew near, she lifted her head in prayer. The more she recited the words, the more at peace she became....

"From death comes new life.....There is always another morning.... and In the dawn, beauty reigns, and the way is clearer."

Lastly adding... "Rest in peace and light Catam D'Argente"

Finally at peace herself and thoroughly exhausted, she collapses on the bed to sleep.*

Again the warmth of the Morninglord shines down on Loriah, and a musical voice, the notes of it filled with the hope of youth...

"Tell them."

And Loriah awakes to the Dawn's light. A dream?
*As the bright morning sun shines down on her face through the window of her room, she awakens slowly, stretching out in the bed with a content sigh... A bright smile on her lips and as the light of Lathander shines on her face.

She blinks a few times and realizes she's awake... was she really asleep at all?

She jumps from the bed ... " Tell Them... TELL THEM! " She exclaims, running to gather her armor thrown about the room... " I can't Tell Them looking like this! " Ash and soot all over herself and her armor from the crypts the night before...

" Oh screw it ! " She picks up all her armor, boots, throws her cloak over her shoulder and bursts out the door of her room only her underpants on and clutching everything else to her chest. Through the halls of the sleeping quarters, down the stairs and out the door of the chapel praising Lathander. Those seeing her might think she's gone mad with joy as she darts half naked across the street to the Inn.

Everyone in the Inn May turn to watch as she bursts through the door grabbing a handful of gold coins from her pouch and dropping things left and right as she hands it to the bartender. "No time to talk sorry... I have to clean up! By the Light of Lathander I must TELL THEM ! " She rushes up to the baths to clean herself and her armor as fast as she can before sending an urgent sending to Ivan and Berea once again. *

A green-garbed woman makes her way into the Song of the Morning Temple and asks around if any of the local clergy are available. She would converse with them at length about a variety of religious and mundane matters before leaving them with a gift courteousy of the Temple of Mystra in Baldur's Gate.

In the early hours of the morning, as the first rays of dawn glitter across the sky, Eldarian can be seen marching into the temple. His shoulders are tensed and his features are stern.

An order is barked to a templar and then a flicking gesture of the paladin’s wrist is given in dismissal. His footfalls are determined as he walks across the stone and down the steps to huddle in the small war room with a slam of the door. He plants both of his gloved hands across the map on the table and his lips thin.

A sweeping gesture is given and random pieces placed on the map crumble onto the floor. One of the pieces that roll and rattle across the table is caught and is slammed in place over a small hamlet. He then runs his gloved fingers through his hair.

“I made a promise and I shall keep it,” comes the paladin’s murmurs as his pointed ear turns toward the door.

There it was.

The ringing tolls of the bells sounded from the temple; but these were not gentle, easing tolls, no. These tolls were forceful and urgent, beckoning his templars and the clergy of the Morninglord to him.

These were the tolls of war.

A diminutive young woman hefting a deflated oilskin sack over one shoulder stumbles up towards the temple and the knights standing watch. The small messenger looks extremely winded as though she had run miles and miles at the very least, yet she bears the wide-eyed and jittery look of someone who remains standing solely by virtue of restoratives, another of which she downs before doing her assigned task.

The woman hands a sheet of paper and a card towards the templars before the door, and once she's assured they will be read by the occupants, she would turn and run for the southern gate, shoulders heaving from exertion.

During the small hours just before the break of dawn, Neschera and Eldarian are summoned to attend a private meeting within the office of Kelddath Ormlyr, the Most Radiant of Lathander and high priest of the temple of the Song of the Morning. After a quiet pause in the daily routines, the door is reopened and all three return with a smile on their lips. Kelddath's smile is one of relief, Eldarian's is one of exuberance, and Neschera's one of humility.

A pre-prepared written announcement, affixed with the signature of Kelddath Ormlyr, is placed on the notice board, information is spread through the usual channels and at that very same morning mass:

"By the proclamation of the Most Radiant Kelddath Ormlyr of the Song of the Morning, Dawnbringer Neschera of Cormyr is hereby elevated to the status of Vicar within the Church of Lathander in Beregost with all the responsibilities and duties that entails."
