Selengil, Thistle, Hallowdant, Micar'Mizzrym, Arena.

Details of Urfindir's fate told, resurrection by a Yathrin confirmed, sightings expected, caution warned. Discussion of Aunrae, Selengil knew of ailment, never pressed for time previously, unconvinced of truth of it; drowess in hunt of a quill, Rhaeg knowledgable of it. Aunrae unwelcomed by Blackrose, Zhents. Liberal use of the word Aught. Practiced terseness of Owlspur. Condemnation of something random delayed.

I made research about body of thayan mage founded in last battle in mountains (cloudpeaks).
Tatto on dead body dont have any arcane properties . It would seem the tattoos on this Thayan were more for show. Further investigation would reveal the family it belonged to. The family to note would be House Weslir. They are responsible for slave training for other houses.

The spell book founded on body, contain several spells of necromancy and have no listed spells prepared for divination. The spellbook itself seems to be created of mundane circumstances. It is comprised of parchment and leather.

- Arcanist, Archmage, Magi, Maraav from house Deinir.

Edit : added small note
Its possible this mage with some other "friends" its also responsible for animate undeads who atack us.

Fewer people are believing the story of a soul in the object Nyxis has claim to, the Radiant equally have cited lessened belief of it. Perpetrator includes Adrien. Nyxis states that River isn't reliable and has left out most of the story to everyone she tells it to.

As we start coming to a close on the Amn campaigns, I'm setting off toward the East to ready our return in its region. I'll be available by sending and missive, though not always by presence. Matters of requesting immediate decisions regarding the arcane are left to the discretion of Maraav and ???? in my absence. Immediate martial decisions through Traegan and Doan in my stead.

Tristan. He was in charge of having each Vanguard member make a living will at some point. If I find them they'll be documented later.

Elena has sent her will, and it has been filed with the others. Hilarious.

Akram, an old ally, has pledged his aid to the Vanguard. Though he'll remain separate and not a part of it. He is a skilled conjurist and transmutationist. If I remember rightly, he's also a bit of an information gatherer.

Trust him to take in just as much as he lets out, becareful what is shared or revealed til loyalty is proven.

He is, self admittedly, soft on drow.

It is becoming more apparent that there are individuals invested, if not supportive, of the matters regarding the drowess Aunrae. Depth of involvement potentially extends into those that frequent House Darius. On discussion with Destin regarding his involvement and hint of the things to come where banishment of Drow supporters are in Duchal lands, I've presented opportunity for him to reconcile the fault of his involvement by measure of yielding the name of others, and whilst his former behaviors were his departures to distant lands with dismissive swagger, today, after a mark elapsed, I witnessed his entrance into the foyer of House Darius, prompting concern of Carah, and urging both to a side room for private discussion. Another half mark and his departure was silent but assured that I would be visible on his departure from House Darius' compound. Carah departed the room shortly after, flustered. She gave evening embrace to Teris and remarked on the words that "we are leaving in the morning."

"Your words are weightless" Destin told me twice. How burdened he seems to be now by it.

Simon from Beregost showed up at the Arena full of bile, all but ready to duel Jonah of our company right there and then. Both Sergeants Amon intervened to defend him, and eventually Ophelia showed up. The man claimed Jonah slept with his sister and ruined her future prospects, something Jonah vehemently denies. The situation was ultimately defused by Sabel who made Simon realise he should go help his sister, who may or may not have ridden most of the city and Beregost twice over. The fifteen thousand coins she offered Simon likely helped.

Included is a description of the man, seemingly human, red eyes, black hair, fair skin, works for Jonah's family

Thirtieth of Hammer in the Year 1358,

My personal findings pertaining to the Golden Hawk Brooch with use of Scry has given no information on the previous owner. To be more precise when I scried the item, it was neither blocked or prevented in any way. The casting went without issue but what I found was simply myself holding it. the previous bearer could be deceased. I intend to speak with the other Arcanists of the Vanguard, as some have been around this Coast longer than I. Perhaps they are aware of something I am not, that happens here versus elsewhere. I will update accordingly of any findings.

I propably try to scry or greater scry targeting blood on amulet, with some luck this can be blood of still living person who put this amulet. Or just person who put amulet put this as "gift" so it no longer belong to this person, thats why resoult of scry...its what it is.

The following names are known supporters of the drow Aunrae. As discussed in today's meeting. Assume that where they are concerned, they will likely actively aid her against us, or even fight in her defense.
Kethelis
Destin
Carah
Emrys
Rhaeg

A brief summary concerning the day's meeting with various members of the Vanguard.

Promotions/Reassignments
Theadric is promoted to Ranger
Fenia is promoted to Ranger
Ril'tyrr is promoted to Sergeant
Tristan is reassigned to Ranger
Elena is promoted to Ranger

There is a meeting in two days with the mayor of Nashkel, Ghastkill. It will determine how much longer the Vanguard will remain in Nashkel, but our days here are numbered. Based on the contents of that meeting any follow up concerning the Hawk sigil, we've three potential targets left in this area:
1) The Salamander Cultists behind the trolls
2) The remaining troll horde
3) The yet unnamed hawk mercenary company

After the culmination of the work in Nashkel, we as a company will be relocating to either Greenest, or Triel. See accompanying notes in 📩ic-messages concerning the company's vote.

It was well explained that Aunrae, the drow, is both a threat by being a drow, and a Zhentarim asset. The entity that was protecting her from being hunted has been dealt with, and so, our hunt continues. There is an impending ceremony for Aunrae, in Doron Amar, where she may be changed from a drow into gods-only-know what. But for now, she is our quarry.

See above report on Aunrae's potential allies. Plans are in the works for dealing with both her, and them, details yet with held while things are put in order. (Namely, waiting on a response from our DM request)

After all the work is done in Nashkel, we'll be moving out east. Fairly soon scout work will resume in the location for where we build our own hold, and stop living like gypsies. Stay alert for future assignments.

On the subject of Doron Amar, Alarielle, their current leader, has levied several accusations at Captain Dunn, and a few at our Sergeant Mizzrym. Dunn went into detail about these accusations which include:
1) That he trades and or has ties to Soubar. Unfounded, just about everyone trades in Soubar and Dunn has no ties or is outright hostile to the Zhentarim there, Mag's the community leader, the Ebon Blade Mercenaries, or the Blackrose.

2) Ties to the Blackrose. Unfounded. We're extremely likely to be openly hostile with them soon as they may have taken up work for the Zhentarim.

3) That he changes allegiances often - somewhat founded, but immaterial to anything of Doron Amar. Dunn has been in the region going on nine years and has worked for several groups.

4) That he tried to sow civil unreset in the Gate. Unfounded, we actively worked to provide stability to the Gate but this was largely resolved on its own by the allocation of food and resources.

Our current plan for handling Doron Amar is supporting all those peoples who are in opposition to the little tyrant, Alarielle. The future hope is that we'll one day be allies against the drow and Zhentarim.

Met a magi named Krynnus in Nashkel. Said he's fairly recently arrived and has spent some time further north, but made his way south. Keep an eye out for him and see if he's a good fit for our Vanguard.

Midwinter 1 of Alturiak, 1358

Research on the Hawk amulet/brooch from Bekkreguard done at Candlekeep, together with Scribe Edelgarde has revealed the following:

The amulet has a tiny opening mechanism and inside it is a signet/mark.
Two stars with the numeral III right below it.

Edelgarde has found that the mark is that of the Remenidi Family.
A clan of tinkeres who specialises in rather mundane and cheap jewelry and are not know for using actual gold and proper gems in their work.
They reside in Athkathla, Amn.
Seeing as the amulet we have, is neither cheap nor poorly made, it stands to reason that either;
- The Remenidi made this as a one-off, which they would properly remember. or;
- The amulet is crafted with the signia of the Remenidis to throw us off course.

For my part, I recall that Two Stars also happens to be a Crossroads-town in the lands of Thesk, beyound the Sea of Fallen Stars. A town that holds a Thayian enclave, known for its remarkable cheap goods.
Thesk sits just west of Thay.
This last bits are far streched and I believe that Edlegardes lead is the most likely.

Anyone fancy going with me on a trip to Athkathla?

It could also be a hoax to blind us, Edelgarde suggested that a search of the dead assasians and even possible the Mayor, could cast more light on the matter. (Personal I am not keen on the last option, as the dead should be left in peace)

While several of the Vanguard were outside the Belching Dragon, a home less looking fella approached the group asking for us, and then wanted to know my name. After we were identified he said that the lich, Arkvallas, sent him with a message, and he then proceeded to burn himself alive. His body continued to burn long after death and normal means of putting out the flames had no effect. He was later tossed into the freezing cold river and it briefly began to boil the water. After he died, before he was tossed, a melted symbol of Auril was seen on his person.

We traced his path back to his lean-to behind the Outfitters shop, found a message in red which said 'Come and See.' There was also a burnt and bloodied hand mark left within the camp, as well as a poorly made duergar helm. We proceeded from there toward the duergar mines. Once there, we spotted smoke up the path toward the crystal cavern and approached. We came across an erected shrine to Kossuth wreathed in flame and smoke. Upon this altar was the body of a human bearing a melted symbol of Auril. Plunged into their body was a sacrificial dagger of Auril's clergy. Sergeant Ril retrieved this dagger and currently bears it.

We then moved as a group to investigate the temple of Auril in the Cloudpeaks, as between the observed faithful of Auril being killed, along with rumors of undeath in the mountains, it was the next step to take. High in the Cloudpeaks we encountered a massive horde of undeath and fiery shadows and battle commenced. The culmination of the battle was with a very large undead and rotting dragon placing down on the mountain and approaching us.

Ophelia and Ril were able to understand the dragon, who spoke in draconic. Ophelia will write a report on the conversation, as it may contain more details about the lich. Eventually the conversation reached an end and battle resumed, with the Vanguard and allies coming out the victor. Salvage was rounded up amongst the dispatched dead. We checked on the temple of Auril but there was no apparent change there.
