Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate

Rumors of the regular occurring dreams have changed in the past few days. While those who dared sleep in the city with celestial or fiendish blood have been restless for the last few months, they find themselves remembering the haunting of the night before. Many reports circulate of nightmares that include a vicious black hackle with many eyes. The details are unclear at this time as several of the dreams seem to conflict with one another. There is no set reoccurring dream at this time.

A fire is reported in Baldur's gate as Fist soldiers rush to put it out. Local citizens help by dumping water buckets on the blazing flames. Just as citizens thought this was the worst for the night. Their attention was drawn to a smeared writing on the wall, "False Angel" stood dripping down the wall of the small home in the east gate district.

Everwatch Cadet Heinrich Von Rittermark was seen escorting a man through the city. Rumors circulate that the mans friends had just been killed in a bar brawl. He safely makes it out of town and the Everwatch Guard returns to his post at the temple in the palace district.

There is some buzz about the docks district that the well-known bardess, Iris Sorin, was seen entertaining a small group at the Twilight Rose; lifting spirits of both kinds with her mandolin and sweet voice. There were announcements of two engagements with dancing and drinking. Details of whom else attended were scarce, as those employed of the Twilight Rose are tight-lipped about their patrons.

A group of adventurers is rumored to have been seen leaving the graveyard, heavily wounded and battered but with steely determination on their faces. Despite their injuries they seem in generally good spirits about whatever minor victory they have achieved. A blonde man among the group seems particularly delighted, and was overheard joyfully proclaiming to a knight in the group that he will send over the finest fresh fish as a prize for him, but specifics of this remain unclear.

A Stonesinger of the Kingdom of Kraak Helzak continues his temporary residence within the City of Baldur's Gate—it would seem his "business" unfinished. It may be seen by others in the Eastern District that this Stout was engaging the Commercial Exchange representative in the public space, speaking in the Dwarven tongue...though any with ears tuned to that language would overhear him question the female Dwarf of her Clan lineage, and to what of any connection to the great Kingdom of Kraak Helzak she may have.

One may have even overheard a hint of flirtatiousness in his tone of voice....

Later...the same Stout wearing a cloak of sturdy weave displaying the emblem of the Kingdom of Kraak Helzak, shining bright with reflections from the street lamps sparkling off the gold-weave fibers embedded within, was seen retiring to the Elfsong Tavern. And therein, taking a respectful note of the periodic and subtle melody sung in a beautiful but mournful voice.

As the Stonesinger's ear did eagerly catch the melody that floated lightly upon the air, his gaze often turned to the faces within the establishment, as if expecting to recognize one or another person...of a certain patronage.

A lone horseman on a black stallion rides out from the farmlands towards the Fields of the Dead. To the keen eyed individual, well versed in horse breeding, it would be clear that the stallion is an Amphailan charger. Mixed sightings of the one-eyed rider claim that the man rode up to the Winding Water, then east along its southern bank. At long last he crossed where the river turns north, and continued in the same direction towards the Troll Hills. Not even a day later he was crossing the river once more, galloping southward, through the fields, toward the city.

That same evening, he was sitting in the Mermaid, a bottle of Wyvern at his table, back to the wall, eye fixed on the entrance.

Zhentarim propaganda has begun appearing throughout the districts of Baldur's Gate city-state. Apparently a recruitment drive is underway;

Five black-painted nails scraped gently across the Zhentarim symbol upon the notice as shadow-cloaked eyes scanned the content. The woman's head merely tilted slightly, mind ticking over thoughtfully as her invisible form turned, concealed by the still shadows of midnight's empty gloom.

The Northern Watch Commander picks up one of the flyers that seems to be making their way around the city. No stranger to smear campaigns, she lets eyes scan over it before rolling them upward and shaking her head in exasperation. A quick trip to Sorcerous sundries then sees her at the Elfsong Tavern, flyer, quill, and bottle of red ink in hand.

With the sudden onset of winter snow within Baldur’s Gate, Netanya would be seen excitingly crafting a snowman in the front yard of her estate in the Palace District. She would take the time to meticulously sculpt the spherical base, torso, and head of the snowman. A selection rare gemstones would be used to shape its eyes, nose, and mouth. She would adorn it with fashionable garments obtained from her personal holdings that she no longer had utility for. After completing the snowman she stand back to admire it and declare it the most fabulous snowman to have ever been erected.

A few nights later, a figure in a dark cloak can be seen nicking shiny gems from the snowman in Netanya’s front yard. Witnesses say the figure was giggling wildly.

Sometime later in the evening a man wearing a cloak with the symbol of the Radiant Heart and similar in bearing to that of the Grand Master of the nearby Chapterhouse can be seen delivering two fish to the Ilmater Orphanage along with some butter.
