Server is laggy. After lagging more and more for a while, it just dropped connection and timed out. Currently it is displaying 66/75 in server list and I can't connect to it.

About these outages, something occurred to me just now and I'm wondering if a certain phenomenon is related to them:
I previously posted an issue with bigbys(or perhaps other spells are doing it too) and how it seems to spawn an invisible hostile clone of the caster. I'm sure more than a few players know what I'm referring to, but the phenomenon I'm speaking of looks like this...
Now, I've noticed in my wanderings that I can hear these clones quite clearly on my headphones as they roam about in numerous zones. This is not something I hear rarely, I might add. I'd estimate that I hear them two or three times per log-in. In the past few days I've also seen half a dozen monsters attacking something invisible, and so I deduced that they must be attacking some of these invisible clones. I actually witnessed this twice right before the most recent crash, one in the sharpteeth woods and one in the upper caves, with one orc in particular even depleting his entire repertoire of spells at a clone.
A significant thing that I've noted about these mystery invisible clones is that they seem to be persistent, as in: one of them lingered in a particular room in the 1st level of the Sharpteeth caves and, after I had been in the lower caves for 5+ minutes, I returned to find it still there with more mobs attacking it. As far as I understand it, when something persistent stays on a map, such as player characters, monsters do not despawn.
My thought here is: if these things are truly persistent, is it possible that their presence is causing so many monsters to spawn that it is causing a drain on the servers resources? Perhaps even to the point of helping these crashes along?
I may be grasping at straws here, but perhaps someone more knowledgeable with the engine will be able to determine if this is the case.
**Edit** - Although, given the frequency of the crashes in relation to how few clones must get spawned in such a short time... maybe I'm way off base here.

Thank you for pointing this out. QC has been made aware of the possible issue.

I had made mention of this similarly as well. Tabbing a bunch showed many of them.

They do not hinder NPC respawns as the script relative to players leaving and entering an area isn't determined by them as they, despite having player names, are not players themselves. When perceiving other players and not NPCs, they roam and encircle the player, not much else there calculatively.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the info. Just out of curiosity, and since I haven't tested this, because of them being hostile do they prevent players from resting when they're close?

I should be home within the next hour and will try to get us going again if one of the lead devs or HDMs isn't able to get us running first.

Are those strange things triggering spot checks, and listen rolls. constantly detecting or other things constantly trying to detect them in the background of everything?
