Re: The White Mask Theater & Performers Guild - RP Thread
Herran spends a good deal of the morning making sure all the flyers are in good shape and seen by all, he sings and dances as he goes attempting to draw crowds in his travels. " Come to the White Mask Theater for the grand opening of Thistle ... an original play written, directed and performed by the members of our very own troupe right here in Baldur's Gate."

Herran hurries back to the theater to talk to the ladies of the troupe as soon as he hears about the killing.
"Amberly! ... Telia! ... Nea!" he shouts out as he enters the theater. "I want -none- of you to be outside the theater alone!"
"A lady has been brutally killed between here and Tymoras Temple .. so please! .. go out together .. or ask Amear, Tom, Dominic or myself to escort you .... at least until we know who killed this lady and why!" His look is grim and quite serious.
He then heads out to talk to the fist to try and inquire as to what happened, declaring he -must- know so that he can determine if the ladies of his troupe are safe to be about.

"... What? But-!" says Nëa, then goes out, staying in the shadows behind Herran to find out what's going on.

Herran comes back with a big sigh after talking to the Fist "All they would tell me ... is the woman was -not- robbed ... and that it was the work of an amateur ... so -please!- ... stay together and keep eyes and ears open for any news or rumors."

Nëa pouts and huffs. "So I'll have to stay in here all the time now? Can I at least climb up on the roof and look at Selûne?"

"The roof is fine" Herran chuckles "And you are -not- stuck ... I am asking , however, that you do not wander around the city alone ... travel in pairs .. or more. At least until I can get further information on this killer ... maybe it was a lovers quarrel that got out of hand?"
"Just give it a little time ..." He smiles "Might even give us all a chance to get to know each other a little better ehh?"

Amaer Kellen looked alarmed "Oh, oh dear! Was there blood? I hope there wasn't blood!"
He then turned to the ladies of the troupe, rather pale, "Of course, er... I shall ensure no wickedness befalls you!"
He paused. "Though it may be wise to allow another gentleman to accompany you as well, as it would be unsporting for one so dashing and artful as myself to engage a common thug."
((There's a Bluff roll attached to that last comment, naturally))

In the mean time Herran goes door to door talking to the Tymorans, merchants, neighbors, and those he frequently sees along the streets to ask if any of them heard or saw anything out of the ordinary that might help in identifying/ apprehending the one who killed the lady.
He also tries to find the identity of the lady so that he may go talk to her family to express condolences and seek as to whether they might have any idea of why this happened.

Re: The White Mask Theater & Performers Guild - RP Thread
The weekend had been a busy one for the performers in the White Mask Theater.
A Dwarven Celebration
First they had a performance to make for the king of the dwarves during a celebratory brawl held in a large arena with a big audience. Director Herran and Telia met a fellow performer by the name of Tamara who also performed a piece for the king and accompanied them with music on their other performances. Herran and Telia had chosen a song entitled "The Marching of the Dwarves", a poem of the famous dwarven forging skills and lastly a humorous drinking song where the audience were encouraged to sing along - which they did happily. The audience and the king were most pleased with the trio's work and awarded them handsomely.

The trio left to right Tamara, Herran and Telia, being awarded by the King (golden glow). Blue-ish glow is the winner of the brawl and a million gold pieces, Xaros, whom Telia awarded with a kiss.
The Gala
Their second performance was held at the noble Elias Keller's house for a gala, in the Palace District of Baldur's Gate. The Theater's recent production "Thistle" was a big success and the noble was adamant in only having the best perform for his guests who would be from very respected houses in the city. Elias Keller underlined that his guests had well-distinguished tastes and that he expected a mixture in performances. Director Herran and Telia knew that this was their chance to offset the past rumours and happenings surrounding the Theater and were eager to put on a good show.
Only hours before the gala, during their rehearsals at the Theater with Tamara as an audience, a drunk man stumbled inside. He disrupted them and commanded them off the stage, Herran and Telia had little choice to obey as the man held a fire bomb in his hand which he threatened to drop. The drunk man then proceeded to yell at them from the stage, shouting what they had done for the people in the Gate and what made the Theater think they were special. Herran offered to mention what they had done but the man would hear nothing of it. Herran quickly warded them all from fire as it became apparent that the man couldn't be talked to his senses. The drunk man dropped the bomb and put himself on fire. Herran, Telia and Tamara were unharmed although Tamara went into a shock state at the scene. Herran quickly warded the drunk man from the fire so it would not kill him. The Theater's custodian Karl ran to fetch the guard. The Fist guard sighed at the scene and told them the drunk man, John, was a war hero who hadn't recovered from what he'd been through and began drinking. Herran took pity on John and insisted that he would serve in the Theater as a helper to Karl instead of suffering punishment. Telia didn't fully agree although respected the Director's decision and hoped that Karl would keep a close eye on John. After the Fist guard took away John in a cell to sober up overnight, Herran and Telia attended to Tamara and helped her out of her shocked state and offered her a room at the Theater. Despite the scene caused earlier the duo went ahead with the gala performance.
When they arrived at Elias Keller's house they quickly gathered that his words in the letter had been true, the nobles tastes varied greatly and they had no qualms to express what they loved and hated loudly. Every noble looked at them with expectations of hearing their favourites.
Herran started with a emotional love song "Starry Night" which Telia danced to. Next was a mystic and slightly frightening poem "The Knights of Dragon Down" recited by Telia and accompanied by music from Herran. To put the mood back to suit the festive, they performed a duet of a catchy song by the name of "Favorite Things". Lastly they performed a musical piece whilst the guests dined, Herran with the flute and Telia the drum. It seemed that their sense for variety had paid off, the audience were pleased and especially the host, Elias Keller, was glad as it turned out that duets were his very favourite. Several of the nobles said that they would be sure to attend future plays at the Theater and were eager for tidbits of the plays still in production. The noble George Musket made a donation to the Theater.

Oh...the humanity.
Shortly afterwards, Artimee noticed the mini-tavern on the mezzanine...and ordered an ale.

///Bear in mind that while investing ranks in the Perform skill is good, it is not essential, and you do not need to be a bard to act in the Theater. A positive charisma modifier would be appreciated, though, in the spirit of playing your character sheet.

// Honestly, perform points seem more appropriate than charisma... Nëa isn't a bard, but she has full ranks of perform (also 14 charisma, but that's beside the point). The point of the theatre is performers, after all.CrimsonMist wrote:///Bear in mind that while investing ranks in the Perform skill is good, it is not essential, and you do not need to be a bard to act in the Theater.
