I bet the orc tribes could do something cool like this. They might not be able to blow a whistle though...

I'm currently digging this Korean historical drama, but none of my friends will watch it with me. So I'll share it with you folks instead!:

I think its Korean name translates to Mirror of the Witch, as shown in the trailer here, but it's available on Netflix right now with English subtitles under the much cornier name of Secret Healer if anyone wants to check it out!

It reminds me of another Korean drama I watched called Moon Embracing the Sun, if that name means anything to any of you, and I think that one had a lot of the same actors too. Though I honestly don't know one Korean actor from another, so I could be mis-remembering that or conflating it with similarities in costume, and that one was more of a romance story than the one I'm suggesting here. This one's more "something for everyone," in that it has action, comedy, romance, magic, political intrigue, ghosts. I suppose there's not been much military action yet, so that is left out in terms of genre. All in all, though, I'll rate it an 8 or 9 out of 10. :P We'll see how it ends before I give it a final rating.

I saw this and now I'm thinking about buying an old house and going antique shopping:

Straight from the description (with corrections to spelling because that's just how I roll):
This video, made by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Testing) shows the danger of "modern" fires compared to the danger of fires occurring 40 years ago. Keep your eye on the clock!

The room on the left is furnished with old-fashioned furnishings, made mostly with natural materials (wood, cotton, wool, silk, etc).

The room on the right is furnished with stuff made largely with synthetic material. Most synthetics are petroleum based. Think of them as frozen gasoline.

The legacy room fire is just beginning to really spread at the time the modern room is burning from floor to ceiling. Even the air is burning!

I dare say it now, before you all here,
That Lovecraft and Seuss are a pairing most dear!
For the video linked below in my post,
Is a good one indeed (if I may gently boast);
And I hope you'll enjoy it, as I did myself,
While counting my blessings for sound mental health.

I was excited when I first saw it pop up on Netflix, movies and tv shows starring Mads Mikkelsen rarely if ever disappoint. Unfortunately the entire movie felt like I was watching two different ones at the same time. One, a slapstick trash comedy filled with killers and assassins who are just screwing around, and the other a tragic slow drama about an old retired assassin who is finally facing the sins of his past. Seems like the director himself couldn't decide which movie he wanted to shoot. Too bad, Polar seemed highly promising :(
