A man in a farmer's hat and chainmail could be heard talking to the church of Lathander in Beregost. A listener might overhear a conversation about a potential undead infestation in the abandoned church on the tradeway just north of the town. The farmer seemed to be looking for a priest to purify the abandoned church.

A man in a hooded brown cloak posts flyers across the city of Beregost:
BEWARE!

A necromancer who calls himself LAORIC dressed in a black cloak with red trim has been spotted summoning the undead in the vicinity of HIGH HEDGE. He should be considered extremely dangerous.

A younger man in Beregost casually warns anyone entering the town. He tells people to be careful along the Trade way just north of the town. For anyone that would ask further details, he begins to tell a story.

One day, the road looked to be relatively free of goblins, and having yearned for adventure at his age, he decided to go and take a look around nearby. As he was strolling alongside the water, he noticed an apple floating. Strange he thought, as there weren't any apple trees around. A little further up, he started to see many different bottles of ale and wine (still full!) floating at the top of the water. He decided to walk deeper into the water and eventually dive in a little, to search for more clues; and much to his surprise and demise he found a corpse. He dragged the corpse from the water and quickly rushed back to Beregost, dragging the body back to the temple. It looked to be the body of a young man, short and thin, dressed in strange shiny clothes with a bright red hood. Apart from minor injuries he seemed to be unharmed, until a more thorough inspection revealed that he was cut open and had much of his blood drained from him.

After a long and strenuous number of rites and prayers, the priest slowly began to breathe life back into him. It was his luck that the young man found him so recently, before his body decomposed. Eventually the man in the red hood gasped as life jolted back into his body. Confused and bewildered, the young man explained to him what had happened. Without as much as a "thank you", or even a single word, the hooded man immediately flew into a rage, and stormed out of the temple.

Travellers should beware, as yet again the Trade Way has proved to be dangerous. Perhaps vampires or worse pray on lone adventurers.

A colorfully dressed foreigner [Gajpati Dhananjay] was recently restored to life at the temple of Lathander in Beregost. Where his body was found was not disclosed.

His unlikely saviour, Zor Boris Vyacheslav of Surthay, arrived at the temple carrying the man during the night. In what seemed at first a selfless generosity Boris paid a sizable donation in gold to the church to see the dead man raised in his presence.

As the foreigner showed the first signs of life returning, Boris wasted no time in demanding thus;

"You were dead. Now, you live.

Your new life begins in debt to the Thayan Enclave of Baldur's Gate. Meet with the Khazark Kahanak Habdilof or Zor Zhar Quantoul at their next convenience to discuss the recompense.

Should you refuse to oblige, know this; I will find you, and I am prepared to take back exactly what I have given you tonight."

The threat hung in the stillness of the temple for a moment before Boris continued.

"However, I am confident that your ... conscience ... would forbid such gross disregard of your generous benefactors. Just like all good people.

Until our next meeting."

Boris Vyacheslav leaves the temple and is seen travelling north alone.

Trickles of sunlight filter through the town of Beregost one merry afternoon as three Templars of Lathander sit on horseback near the edge of the settlement.

Knight-Commander Al'maire can be seen talking to each in a warm, amiable manner as he passes them each a rolled up scroll tied with yellow ribbon. The words Pathfinder's Hall can be heard muttered by him a few times before their conversation comes to an end.

One last command is uttered by the paladin as he brings gloved fingertips to the leading horse’s hindquarters to jolt it into a soft gallop in a northerly direction.

"Ride, my brothers!”

Observers on the Tradeway might observe Michael, Wren, and Rain Dog packing up his camp and walking north. Tent and camp supplies secured to their backs (even Rain Dog is toting a few things strapped to her back as she pads along). Where ever the trio are heading, its apparently for more than just a short while.

Vultures begin to circle the sky near Durlag's Tower. Anyone passing close would be met with a grisly sight: the body of a young human girl lying on a pool of blood, stabbed through the heart. Apparently, she hasn't been dead long.

//anyone familiar with the druid Kaleigh Mac An Deoir will recognize the corpse to be her. Anyone interested in interacting with the body, be it to raise it, defile it, or break the PG13 rule with it (kidding!), send me a pm.

*Whilst conversing with the blacksmith in Beregost the young Lathanderite Kellan saw what he believed to be an orc wandering within the town proper. He called to the orc to leave the town and hesitantly took up his stave, yelling for the guards as he did so. The greenskin ran off but not without threatening the young clergyman.*

Working from what seems to be a list written out for him, Ameris is seen passing through Beregost and its surrounds, moving between various specified houses and farms to provide medical care.

He would invite Amanda to come with him if the weather was good, so she could watch a priest at work; if she came he would explain to her he was doing the kind of thing Dawnpriestess Alesea does in the town, to give Amanda an idea of who Alesea was and what she was like. Ameris would be sure to drop her back at the temple if she got tired or the weather turned. And certainly she would be returned by lunchtime so she could have a meal and rest before the afternoon.

Its clear the Ilmatari does not know Beregost spectacularly well, and there would no doubt be a number of incidences of knocking on the wrong door or getting lost between visits. He would diligently attempt to find all on the list however.

At each house he would present a letter given to him by Alesea, to vouch for his identity and role before asking if he could assist. He would provide a range of treatment based on the list provided, although given it was the first time he had spoken to each, he would spend a little longer than would be usual on each consultation, to put the patient at ease and perhaps see if there is anything that they had not yet reported to the temple.

No doubt the process is quite time consuming!

*As he performs his duties about the church and town proper, the young priest casts a curious look on the new arrival(s). His face is flat, giving away nothing of his thoughts as he spies the Ilmateri (and the young female if she is present) in their tasks about Beregost. He remains silent, however, neither approaching the pair nor asking after them at the temple, apparently content to lose himself in his own works. An astute observer would notice that the lean junior cleric appears to be a touch emaciated, his cheeks hollow and his normally dark skin a bit sallow.*

It also includes two women close to the time of birth. In all, a short list. With it is a note written in her own hand detailing that a visiting priest of Ilmater's clergy who is a friend of the temple's will be seeing to them. Her signature is affixed and the seal of the temple resides at the bottom of the note.

She remains in the background throughout the whole ordeal. Either curiously observing or nervously fidgeting and looking around.

The toll of church bells marked a solemn truth in declaration that audibly weaved throughout the township in the early hours of the morning. That which had been voiced as no more than speculative whisper upon Amnian streets over recent days was today solidified and backed by the formalities of public statement delivered within the walls of the Lathanderite temple shortly after dawn's prayer.

Ser Eldarian Al'maire, Knight-Commander of Templar and Honorary Knight of the Order of the Aster, a man known for his key role in the liberation of Beregost's oppressed, has perished in the line of duty.
