Re: Candlekeep Role-Play
After meeting Teo, he provides the lovely feyling a series of scrolls. They move to the Scribes and Readers quarters and can be heard going over a series of meditative exercises.

A angry looking dwarf named dolinar came up to the gate of candlekeep, I be need a damn book transcribe by ye finger wagers, and I need a couple copies made for dey keep, We aint got dey damn for damn quill wagin,

Chronicles of Kraak Helzak
1347 DR
* Sighting of a massive Duergar Army was made by an expedition from the Nashkel Trade Emporium, but no warnings given to the Ironfaar clan.
* The Ironfaar Stronghold south of Candlekeep is assaulted by the large Duergar army while negotiations are had between visiting Candlekeep mages and Chieftain Khorgoth Ironfaar. After many hours of fierce battle, the Chieftain is slain among other notable warriors and the Stronghold is made a ruin by the invading army. Many dwarves blame the Candlekeep mages for collapsing the ceiling, cutting off the body of the chieftain from a proper burial as well as denying the dwarves a chance to retake their stronghold. Others claim the mages saved what was left of the clan. Regardless, the Ironfaar clan is scattered, divided and leaderless.
* The survivors, under brief leadership of the Slayer Starkad and guided by outsiders Mealir Ostirel and Minerva Esse, seeks refuge under the hospitality of the elves at Doron Amar. Their plea is granted by the council representative Aearion Cuanwaithon, allowing the dwarves to mourn their dead.
* The grand meeting takes place, outside the smoking ruins of the Ironfaar Stronghold, its destruction casting a large shadow over the meeting. The meeting aimed to proclaim a successor to the clan, but internal bickering caused a standstill in the negotiations. Wise elder Dakor Ironfaar proposed a solution; finding the lost Dovkin Battlehammer who had some legitimate claims to the leadership over many clans but now lives in exile. Scepticism abounded, but a search was to begin.
* Against all odds, Dovkin Battlehammer is found by a dwarven expedition going far north. To everyone's surprise, Dovkin has taken a Slayer oath and is currently tracking down the last remnants of an Orcish tribe, the rest fallen under his axe. The expedition takes up arms with him and dispatch the tribal leaders, and while Dovkin is reluctant about their suggestions, he agrees to at least visit the dwarven council.
* The second grand meeting takes place, with Dovkin Battlehammer as a key figure. Arguments begin anew, criticizing both Dovkin's right to rule as well as others proclaiming their right to the same. The negotiations are leading nowhere until Dovkin himself steps into the discussion, and with a rallying speech convinces many of the dwarves of his right, however reluctant that is to Dovkin himself. It is for the greater good that he accepts this crown even though he does not want too, Dovkin argues.
* The coronation of Dovkin Battlehammer as King takes place. He rallies dwarves from all corners of the Sword Coast to his banner, under the new name Kraak Helzak, meaning fortress of the Holy Anvil from the name of a magical anvil the dwarves had procured and saved from the Stronghold. The Ironfaars and the Slayers are among the first to swear loyalty. The ceremony is conducted in the wild. Henceforth, his titles are the Slayer King, Supreme Leader of Kraak Helzak and Protector of the People.
* The Ironfaar survivors leave Doron Amar, thankful for the elves hospitality, and begin a journey north together with the masses of dwarves following the new King. Their goal is set on the troll claw hills, where sightings by the scouts Nich Raivo Ironfaar and Cordell Ironfaar have proved particularly favorable for the building of a new fortress.
* The Amnian-Gate war happens, and with some diplomatic correspondence with the Lords of Baldurs Gate, Kraak Helzak sends many groups of warriors south to aid in their defence as the lords promise Dovkin Battlehammer adequate compensation in their building endeavours would they aid their weakened military. The dwarven warriors are recalled before they arrive, as peaceterms are negotiated between Amn and Baldurs Gate.
* Dovkin Battlehammer blesses the warrior Hargim the Unyielding as his highest General, issuing to him the task of building an elite order of warriors for Kraak Helzak. The King's Guard is born.
* Dovkin Battlehammer arrives at the Troll Claw Hills with many refugees, warriors and machines with the aim of securing part of the area.
* The King holds a meeting in the Troll Claw Hills, where he decrees the creation of four different dwarven councils to oversee the dwarven affairs. These are the councils of trade, hunting, mining and brewing.
1348 DR
* The Black Orc War happens. Initially, the dwarves are too busy with the building efforts to intervene, but finally they respond to the elven pleas and gathers a sizeable warhost led by General Hargim the Unyielding. The warhost are recalled before they arrive in Baldurs Gate, as the elves triumph over the orcs.
* Outer fortifications are built to prevent scavenging trolls from entering the caves, and giving the workers peace. The work is initiated and overseen by Durin Bargen Ironfaar. Meanwhile, excavations and expansions are ever in motion.
* Construction of a keep continues within the year, the new keep is nearly finished. Most of the slayers have died off on their never ending glorious struggle to clear the troll hills, the kings guards ranks swell. Dovkin Battle Issues a degree encouraging any dwarves to join the kraak helzak nation and offering them safety and protection within the keep

A young woman in a lovely purple dress arrives at the Candlekeep Inn, boasting rather loudly to all that will listen that a tome has come into her possession which she is certain the keep's library does not have.
All that she will say is that she inherited it from her father, with something of a smirk.

Hoihe and Elvina were seen entering the Spellflicker spire. Hoihe came from the tower, holding a bundle within his hands covered by his silver cape.
A hour or so later.. they emerged. Elvina looked very sick and strained, while Hoihe held the same bundle with worry and clear dread. He gave his quarterstaff to Elvina for walking support and led her to Kivas.
Afterwards, Elvina seemed slightly better but still worn. Hoihe had Withrop give her his best room, and took his staff back. Later in the night, he spoke with Captain Hull, ordering Guard Rico and Stanley, friends of Hoihe, with Stanley having a special interest in this case, to escort Elvina back to the Silver Rose Keep once she wishes to leave. In the meanwhile, Hoihe fills in as gate guard for Rico.
But first he stored the shard away in the necromancy room, with even more locks and even larger sign saying in addition to the old one. It is clear it is very dangerous:
P.S: Hoihe Dacino, and those who are given information of what is happening are allowed to tamper, but once more than Reader Hoihe Dacino is involved in the research, notes must be left for the fellow researchers.

Hoihe can be seen ordering Avowed to the examination room of the infirmary to clean up the blood, with a severed hand in his free hand, covered in a burned crystaline gauntlet. He then later can be seen in his office trying to get the hand out of the gauntlet with some success..

A letter arrives to Candlekeep addressed to the guide
Esteemed guide
I write to you on behalf of the Silver Shield. Today we have been "ambushed" so to say by one of your readers accusing us of cowardice, murder and vigilantism among other things, based solely on false rumors and backed by no evidence whatsoever. Is this how you treat your gracious donors? Are your readers not required to stay impartial and objective? Our company has donated a vast number of books to your library including a very valuable copy. We were under the assumption that we had earned enough respect and faith with your order not to believe in such vicious lies let alone take part in actively spreading them. I hope our good relations can continue, however we do not take kindly to our name being dragged through the mud.
With regards
Isaac Digard of the Silver Shield

Some acolytes grumble about how the reader, Hoihe Dacino, commanded them to constantly water a set of mountain flowers and put them in a put and lay them beside his bed. They would say the Reader seems quite.. attached to the flowers, despite his usual self when it comes to vegetation. Some of them gossip it was brought by a moon elf.

*A sealed package arrives for Teo with a letter and a tome*
Esteemed Guide Teo,
My name is Lucy Heartfilia, a former Council member of the Silver Shield. I will make this letter short and to the point. About half a year ago Silver Shields as a whole were banned from Candlekeep, unable to set foot on the grounds under a maximum penalty of death.
Recently for a number of reasons I resigned as a Councilor and member of the company. I was a bit curious to the nature of the ban: As a former member of the Silver Shield, is my ban permanent or could my right to entry be reinstated? I do not wish entry to the Library, just the Keep itself.
I am a writer myself and can appreciate the Keep's feelings on the subject of knowledge. Though I could not stop Valkrun from destroying the knowledge he did day, I have made my best effort to record the knowledge and research that that the creature possessed. Included is "Herbert North," a tome I have penned on the subject. You will find parts of the research in the back pages of this book.
While this is hardly recompense for what was lost, nor am I presenting it as such, I do think it shows my good faith effort to preserve the existence of the knowledge I could. I cannot wind back the clock and change the past, but hopefully this does a little to atone for it. To reiterate, I am no longer affiliated with the Shield and would petition to gain access to the Keep.
