On this day, Awakened Djion, Novice of Lathander, and Sir Arledge Arnemeiger, Paladin of the Triad addressed the people of Tyrmount at the East Gate refugee camp. Though the one spoke eloquently of hope and rebirth, and the other of courage and strength of heart, the townsfolk were not greatly cheered by the efforts of the pair.

Sharp eyed residents of Baldur's Gate may have noticed a flash of light in the late afternoon, as three Dwarves and a Red Wizard arrived atop the tallest tower of the Thayan enclave, before heading inside. A couple of hours later, the same Dwarves emerged from the front door, their clothing appearing somewhat worse for wear.

A young woman, clad in the scarlet, orange, and white of a Lathandrian novice spent last night in an unusual venture, travelling from inn to inn and tavern to tavern, speaking with mercenaries, merchants and men-at-arms. In each location, she asked questions concerning the whereabouts of the Company of the Gray Blade, who bear a sigil matching their name. This Company, it seems, was ambushed North of Baldur's Gate in the Fields of the Dead some days past, with terrible losses. Some few survivors remain, and it is said that a core of the company was last seen heading south, towards Bereghost.

And yet, stragglers and strays have reported being unable to locate and re-join their company. And in this time of war, all swords are needed for the defence of the Western Realms.

This Novice can be contacted through the auspices of the Temple of Ilmater, or word left with the people of Tyrmount in the camp at Eastgate.

He says his name is Eth.

A young, blue-haired moon elf clad in white-and-green armor can be seen frequenting the temples in the East Gate District, aiding the wounded in the wake of the attack on Baldur's Gate. He identifies himself as "Siril Alenor of Suldanessellar, champion of the fallen kingdom of Illefarn".

Meanwhile, another, significantly more fragile moon elf in scholarly robes is attempting to determine the specifics of what happened the night of the attack. He introduces himself as "Ollandor Ilvanthis, mage and cleric of Azuth; seeker, keeper and interpreter of lore".

MYRTUL 25th - SERMON OF RECONCILIATION UPON THE SQUARE

At High-Sun, on the very day after her immolation and revitalisation, the recently risen priestess Djion of Lathander, climbed to the dais in the square of Baldur's Gate's East District to deliver a sermon a bare hundred pace from where she faced death and immolation a mere day before. Many present took not of the fervour in her voice, and the golden glow imparted upon her complexion by the growth of new-healed flesh.

"People of the Gate, we are beset by terrible tragedy. Many scores lie dead. Scores upon scores more grieve and suffer as I speak.
Yet as this dawn rose so to did our city rouse. Our watchmen guard our walls. Our priests tend our wounds. Out townsfolk -brave and generous souls all- open their markets stalls, go about their day and rally to give aid.

I myself died here yesterday, on this very ground. My flesh was torn and blackened. My eyes blistered and burned. But by the grace of Lathander and by the strength and generosity our people I was raised to live again.

Alas, it is true that I am one among a fortunate few. For so many the damage that rent body and limb asunder was too great, their frail mortal flesh too grievously assailed by the fruits of villainy which struck us done. Yet it is in their name that we shall rebuild. In their name that we shall look to the future with hope.

People of Baldur's Gate , we have been sore tested in the forge of hellfire and we have been tempered by the kindness and mercy of our souls.

We have shown that we are INDOMITABLE. INDEFEATABLE. UNBOWED.

Image

There are some among us, mislead souls, who would use this tragedy to divide us. To align us against one another, against those whom they would say are different and uncanny. Yet we are a people united by one goal. Elf and dwarf, human and hin, gnome and half-orc, plane-touched and tiefling. This last day all have suffered, and we are all of us brought together in grief.

People of the Gate, we must as ever set aside that which makes us different and grasp for that which makes us the same. We. All of us, must unite against the true enemy that besets us from the North.

Yet there are those here among us who would turn their gazes inward in dismay. Turn neighbour against neighbour with whispered rumours and suspicion. To turn neighbour against neighbour and leave us a house divided. Weakened. Ready to fall. But I say to you here and now, in the light of a new dawn that WE WILL NOT BE DEFEATED.

We shall stand united. One community. One people. A single city-state to lead the way to victory over the devils that assail us. To lead the Sword-Coast out of the darkness of devilry and once more venture towards the glories of the next dawn.

LATHANDER, under your sacred light, let out voices be heard. Let those who would strike us down know we stand ready. That we cannot be defeated by evil. That we shall stride ever onwards unto a better, brighter day.

LATHANDER, HEAR OUR PRAYER!"

A young aasimar can be seen outside the Darius Estate located in the Wide. She welcomes people to come in and have a drink at The Lewd Lyre! She plays her lute and smiles to those that pass. When people approach she hands them a wooden coin that offers them their first drink free!

"Please come in and enjoy yourself! We are happy to have you!"

A strange-looking elven figure can be seen frequenting the bulletin board in front of the Elfsong almost obsessively. It would seem he's desperately awaiting some sort of reply. The hushed profanities that come from him every time he checks suggest that he feels this to be a very urgent matter. There have also been rumors that he is looking for anyone who might have some more specialized knowledge of planar lore and travel, and someone who is skilled with locating persons through magical or other means.

A man with antlers, white hair and a fancy captain's coat, known by many as Captain Fenix Wandersoul, could be seen frequenting the more noble establishments within the Gate, drinking, relaxing and conversing with the more high-class residents of the Gate (those that would speak to him at least, given his heritage). If any were to listen in, he'd be speaking much about his ship, the Siren's Song, it's rebranding, remodelling and the upcoming opening party, seemingly in an attempt to drum up interest in his establishment.

It is said the Whistling Wanderess had seen unprecedented activity these last few days, even coming into the docks proper to employ cranes for loading with a great number of provisions. And suddenly, in the middle of the night of the tenth of Kython, she set sail, her destination not logged. However, it is said her First Officer, Lafali'Atria-Hoihe Dacino, has been asking about the waters between the Gate and Waterdeep.

Rumor has it that late in the evening Kordren Ivatrix and Astere Laroux can be seen with their belongings headed into the Blade and Stars.
Both can be heard asking about a wand to cast the spell Death Ward.

Late in the evenings within Baldur's Gate, the Blade and Stars might get a few noise complaints as one of its rooms is met with the sounds of a man apparently arguing with himself. No other voice emits from behind the locked wooden door to Room 1. Curiously, the one that does speak continues to address someone - or something - as simply, "Dagger." Whether that is someone's nickname, handle for subterfuge, or something else, one can only guess.

Predominantly, the man's voice can be heard pleading for this silent "Dagger's" aid and assistance deep into the night.

Word spreads in the Harbor district of an unknown man roughing up a street merchant after a short exchange. The man was seen destroying the merchant stall, and helping himself to some of the goods that were sold. Before he left, some swore they had heard the man state that he would be back for the rest of his payment.

Witnesses describe the man as slightly above average height, wearing a long dark overcoat, with dark hair fashioned in a pony-tail.

Azymandeus posts a missive.
BEWARE OF PICKPOCKETS IN EASTERN FARMLANDS! I was recently robbed of all my gold. It was a small amount, as I had just creating Elixirs, less than 5 bags. But it was stolen, none-the-less. Surrounded by Guards, no less. This will be taken up with the Fist, to be more diligent in the Future."

--Azymandeus
(( OOC: I have no idea who it was. But somebody with pretty decent Hide/move Silently has been skulking around the Eastern Farmlands, and is using Sleight of Hand to pick people's pockets. Despite being surrounded by Fist, Guards, etc. So whoever did this...please stop. ))
