May I suggest that tavern music plays in taverns? At least the Elf Song has a very gloomy ambient song.

I don't know what played in that tavern before because I always had the game music off. I just can't stand most of the nwn OST. Even the few good tunes tire me after a few listens.

Yea, actually this seems to be server side. While working on this i noticed some times certain areas stopped playing music all together for a while for no apparent reason. Maybe some bug in the delay schedule or night/day change or something, I don't know. But the song for that area is working perfectly in the toolset which means it should work fine in there. Either that or a DM turned the music off in there?
maybe someone who doesn't have this installed can confirm? Either that or wait a bit and see til reset.

I've just remembered that the gnoll area changed tune for no apparent reason to. Yesterday it had a BG song and today it had one from nwn2.

Ya the song in the elfsong is working fine now, it was server side...
Here's a replacement fir that area http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BNSNJI9Y Install it in Music_X1
Also, something more catered to the Elfsong directly, the tune from Dark Alliance.
The elfsong plays the same music in the inn with the basil mushroom quest, so be warned this will be in there as well and wont fit. But, if you can get past that it's pretty sweet.
Wups dont install that last one, i named the file wrong
ill get the right one up. If you installed it already ill put a different one up to replace it. That one shouldn't be played anywhere but the elfsong...
That would be the night tune for that area. Sometimes the server starts to get the day and night music switched up, or it'll change halfway through the day or something. I think this is a lag issue *shrugs*AlphaCentaur wrote:I've just remembered that the gnoll area changed tune for no apparent reason to. Yesterday it had a BG song and today it had one from nwn2.

DeathComeForThee.. have you tried putting the music in /overrides/music?
I'm not sure if it will override the default game music or not from there?

I just made a backup of the three music folders and put it in a folder called BACKUP. That way I can always put thing back to how they were.
Can someone sticky this thread?

Braith.. in the override it would go here.
There will already be some music in there from this PW.. and if you play on other PW's there might be music from them.
Again though we aren't sure it will override the OC music?
I think wait for DeathComesForThee to test it?

Re: Introducing the BG, BG2, ToB, IWD1&2 music pack for BGTS
Sorry no I tried the override folder and it doesn't work with just these files. In order for the music to work in the override you'd need the edited ambientmusic.2da file in there as well, then on top of that each area would have to have their song name physically changed in the toolkit to pull it from the override, requiring everyone to download the files.
The way I'm doing it here has the names for all the music in the areas the same, just the file itelf under the name is changed to a new song. Same name, new file. Looks like the only way it'll work without actually changing things up in the module.
Braith, when you open the downloaded file you will see three music folders: Music, Music_X1 and Music_X2
Install the contents of each of them into their corresponding files in here:
(It will ask you if you want to copy over the existing files, make sure you click yes and you'll be set!)

You don't need to replace original files, you know. I tried using this pack in the My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2 folders, and the music works all quite fine. The music folders in My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2 already override music from the game folder, so long as you use the same names as the files from the game folder.
Very nice work though, these music pieces are great.
