*A formal letter is sent to the Dukes of Baldur’s Gate with a guard who will not let it go to anyone other than one of the assistants of the Dukes. The letter is in a sealed scroll case that the Priest has to open with his holy symbol for the Assistant*

To; the Right Honourable Dukes of Baldur’s Gate.

With reference to the change of the Tolerance is Treason law by Father K Tenith. Changed by The Right Honourable Dukes of Baldur’s Gate as follows.

'Hence forth no live Drow is to be treated as the father requests, until the sprit has been confirmed by a priest of Tyr to have left the body to monitor the executions and be doubly sure they are done as humanely as possible

As said allowed by His Grace the Duke Silvershield.

After the meeting this was scribed into a letter and carried the seal of all three of the Honourable Dukes of Baldur’s Gate.

I Father K Tenith am writing to request a rewritten and sealed document for the following reason. On approaching Sir Dallenthel Wyndsoul within the Ducal Palace of Baldur’s Gate the Knight was handed the document and while being told about it he did rip it up and throw it on the floor.

It is not the place for the servants or the Temple of Tyr to hold a trial for a Noble of Baldur’s Gate. At the current time only a complaint can be made to its Honourable Dukes.

A Humble Servant of Tyr Father K Tenith.

*a letter returns to Father Tenith bearing the seal of the Dukes*

Father Tenith,

Tearing up a letter and tossing it upon the ground are not a crime.

Sir Wyndsoul does not have to agree, merely obey and he has done nothing to demonstrate otherwise.

He deeds in service to the City of Baldur's Gate and that of his family is not to be questioned for expressing his displeasure with a law.

This is why the Priests of Tyr were ordered to see to what We stated.

Sir Wyndsoul keeps the Drow meance at bay, it you and yours job to ensure they are dealt with humanely upon capture.

That is all and you'd be wise to tread lighter in matters of politics as it pertains to those who have served in honor and those of you who have just begun.

Wrong this isn't any thing I told you to write! Cody says yelling at a dwarf, before punching him in the back of his head. Dwarf stands up punches Cody in the belly then starts to punch him in the side until Cody falls down.

"Told ye iffin ya touched me again I'd not hold back. An te letter needs te be believable. Coltastic ain't even a word. Tis why ye hired me." The Dwarf says annoyed as he sits back down on a wooden table. Picking up the quill he continues to write.

"Don't need to be so mean." Cody says whimpering and tearing up.

Later that day Cody delivers a letter disguised as a messenger from Beregost.

"To our Lords and Protectors the Dukes of Baldur's Gate.

I'm a simple farmer in Beregost. While we have our Lathander guards, we enjoy the protection the Fist patrols extend to us out of your mercy. There is one member of the Fist who abuses the title of the Fist. Beren Cross.

It is well known amongst those of us in Beregost that Beren Cross often pretends to go on patrol. Instead he spends his time with a women named Selah Sharess. Only wearing the mantle of the Fist when it suits him.

Even as I write this letter Beren Cross has been spotted going into mountain areas well known for Drow activities. While we do our best to fend off their occasional attacks. Its alarming that a few Drow attacks have occured in Beren Cross wake.

I bring this to your attention only because he tarnishes the Fist and the Dukes names with his actions. Please ask that his actions be investigated so that we may have peace of mind.

Loyal subject Yoddy Branson."

Colt delivers another letter disguised as a messenger from Candle Keep.

To our protectors the Dukes.

My name is Colt, I used to be a criminal stealing every thing I could. Until one day a turn of events turned horribly wrong for me, after a night in a Fist prison I've been trying to stay out of trouble. One man constantly has it out for me Beren Cross.

If you check your records on me I was accused of murdering Kara, which Beren Cross spread rumors of me doing well after Fist and Candle Keep found me not guilty. I believe he is purposely trying to ruin my life and so now I must ask for your help.

A few days ago I was in Beregost and a Elf showed up covered in a spider skin spell. Midian and Boro talked to the elf, as the elf had been asking for help finding Beren Cross claiming he was his friend. I said I would help the elf but first I went to the local smithey Thunderhammer. When I came out me and the elf left the city. As we left Midian and Boro made no attempt to tell me about their suspicion about the elf being a Drow. They simply shouted hault each time we stopped they did not even attempt to warn me. So we kept walking.

If they had doubts I ask why they didn't bother informing the Lathander guards rather then keep the knowledge to them selves. Needless to say I lost the elf in the wood, so I'am unable to find him to confirm if he was a drow or not.

Soon Midian, Boro, and Cross posted a bounty of two thousand on my head. They did not attempt to find my side of the story, when I explained my side to Boro and Midian they just dismissed me.

Once again Beren Cross takes the law into his own hands. There is no checking with his superiors or giving me a chance to prove my innocence. Bounty he posted has been attached to the scroll.

It would also be worth telling you that if it was indeed a drow it knew Beren Cross by name and when I asked how it knew him. It called him a friend. I beg the Dukes to dispatch people to investigate the matter. If it was the elf was indeed a Drow, Beren Cross could potentially be a drow spy.

Sincerely,
Colt.

*Faerynn drafts a letter to the Dukes of Baldur's Gate and sends a messenger to deliver it*

To the Grand Dukes of Baldur's Gate:

The Elven Nation grows and with this growth will come power. This power will manifest itself in many ways. Economically, diplomatically, politically, through it's military might, through the charity of the elves, their poetry, song, magic, and lore. The elves of the Sword Coast offer much to its people and it's land. Baldur's Gate will prosper even more through the increased commerce of the elves and the newly built elven city will provide you a powerful ally.

This elven city will come at a cost. Baldur's Gate will profit from the construction of this new city and retreat the elves will build. The elves will need materials for their new city. Craftsmen will be elven, but that is only one aspect of building a fair city. The benefits to Baldur's Gate of this new retreat will certainly out weigh any costs.

As a founding member of the White Council and as Ambassador of the Council to Baldur's Gate, I speak on their behalf. All areas of the world have elves and the Sword Coast is no different. The elves of this area desire a city of their own, and they have decided to build this retreat near your fair city. In return of your good will and desire to aid the elves, we offer you our military might in the event of war. Though we do not have our elven army yet, it will come. The might of elves in battle is well known and their skills in archery and magic is second to none. This we offer to Baldur's Gate, conditionally of course.

I propose a meeting with the Dukes to diplomatically discuss the benefits of a mutual friendship and alliance between the new elven nation and Baldur's Gate.

Grace and honor to you and your people, and may you prosper in these dark times.

*a message arrives by an out of breathe courier*

Dukes of Baldur’s Gate

*taking a deep breath* Maximus Angrius sends word of the utmost urgencies.
On routine patrols of the southern borders in the outskirts of Naskel, they came across a very large group of Hill Giants. The soldiers were many lead by at least a dozen chiefs. In the insanity of their fight, Red Wizards appeared. He says that after a battle with a few Red Wizards and their legion of giants; *taking another deep breath leaning forward from his long run from Beregost.* That they demanded they leave those lands, and that the Wizards claimed it as their lands now.
He wishes you have this warning immediately and request a meeting to offer his assistance in preparation and or defense of the region.

He sends his deepest regrets he could not come in person; but felt that he would be more valuable there to help protect Beregost from an invasion, until you Honorable Dukes, decide what is best.

~A document, sealed with the emblem of the N.T.E. and Ambassador Shartess arrives to the Ducal Palace.

~The manila colored parcel is firm, rigidly protecting the contents within.

~As the seal is broken the light fragrance of vanilla and nutmeg caress the senses.

~As the letter is removed and unfurls the personal script of Selah Shartess greats the eyes.

Lords and Ladies of the Council,

As you have no doubt heard, there was an organized offensive against the rebuilding town of Nashkel. You may wonder why that is any concern for the nobility and peace keepers of Baldur's Gate; I in fact would not bother your busy routine save for the detail that this villainous group is rumored to be comprised of a number of Red Wizards of Thay. Considering Baldur's Gates past with such persons, I feel obligated to inform of the speculation.

However, upon thorough investigation of the battle scene, there was no evidence found to suggest that these were Red Wizards. In fact, no bodies, except for the bodies of a few giants, were found at all. The only evidence that remained were extra-planar footprints and some magical residue.

I know your time is precious and resources can be strained. If at any time in the future such occurrences happen again, you will be notified in the event that the threat could pass into Baldurian lands. Amn respects it's friend to the North and we would not want you to waste your energy and time in what may likely be an isolated instance.

I understand that Maximus Angrious has sent word to you and expects a meeting. I will of course clear my schedule if my presence is required. In light of the lack of positive proof, I'm sure my graces are aware of potential for manipulation for this recent tragic encounter, though I trust in the council's wisdom to see truth.

Cordially,

~Ambassador Selah Shartess

~A well-dressed messenger arrives at the ducal palace in Baldur's Gate delivering a letter sealed in an ornate envelope~

Highly esteemed dukes and duchesses of the splendorous metropolis of Baldur's Gate.

As a grand merchant of Amn who is seeking to maintain his good trading relations on the Sword Coast, I send for you this message about a spreading rumour which is of highly apocryphal nature.

An incident took place on the slopes of the Cloud Peak Mountains recently which seems to have resulted in some misconceptions about what truly transpired. I state thus with utmost confidence because I witnessed what happened with my own eyes.

Our caravan had just started descending the north side of the Cloud Peaks when our scout returned with the message that there was combat in the foothills. We stopped our merchant wagons and advanced under stealth to behold this spectacle with our own eyes.

Surely enough there was fighting on the mountain side, and we watched it from above without being noticed by any of the participants involved. There was a small group of humanoid persons fighting off scores of hill giants when suddenly several magicians appeared in the midst of the fray. They turned the tide of the battle, it seemed, making the humanoid individuals scramble the battleground for their lives. The magicians then disappeared again along with the giants, and we took the caravan to Nashkel.

Upun arriving there, the inhabbitants were talking about red wizards appearing to the south and this rumour had also reached Beregost, my destination, before we arrived there.

Being an Amnish merchant who works closely with the highly regarded Counsil of Six, I can safely say that these alledged red wizards looked more like cowled wizards to me... and rest assure, I have seen my share of cowled wizards in Athkatla. The idea that they should have been red wizards of Thay, I find preposterous knowing what I saw with my own eyes.

Further intelligence obtained suggests that one of the survivors, a so-called Maximus, has a rather sinister past, being known for speaking in demonic tongues, extortion, kidnapping and lies. Not a person which is to be trusted. I cannot tell for certain, but I merely advice you to take this information into consideration as well.

It would cause me much dismay should Baldurian merchants not want to travel to Amn because of these speculative rumours, but I hope your combined wisdom will treat this rumour for what it is - merely a rumour.

Should you desire any confirmation about my integrity, please consult my associates in the renowed N.T.E, and for now, I shall be staying in Beregost for a while, should my assistance become necessary.

Sincerly,
~Grand merchant, Maferath~

Revered Dukes of Baldur's Gate,

As Selis Vhaire apparently does not reside in Baldur's Gate anymore and obviously has left the theatre unattended, a client of mine tasked me to clarify the legal situation of the estate. Said cliently, who wishes to remain unrecognized for the time being, is interested in acquiring ownership of the theatre. If further explanation regarding the goals of my client are needed, I will be happy to provide them or arrange a meeting between your representative and my client.

*A young messenger dressed in the Griffon marked tunic delivers a letter to the Dukes, with the Angrius Seal.*

Honored Dukes of Baldur's Gate,

It has recently come to my attention the rise of Bhaalites and Banites in our region is increasing, from threats against you dear Dukes, to the murder of children in our cities both Baldur's Gate and Beregost.
I feel that the time has come to punish the evil that threatens our great City.
With your permission I would like to bring Justice to the followers of those evil deities. With the Fist help and those of the Temple of Tyr, I am positive we can eliminate the main threats, and make the punishment for such crimes; Death. We can no longer tolerate such a threat against the citizens you rule and though I am to protect Candlekeep, I offer my Sword to help protect the Gates and your loyal citizens.
I ask for an audience to further discuss my proposal and pray that Tyr watch over and protect you all.
You may find me either in Candlekeep or the Temple of Tyr in Baldur's.

Your Loyal Paladin of Tyr,
Maximus Angrius

Honored Dukes of Baldur's Gate,

I would like to inform you that the threat of Banites is now at a minimum, I gathered a group of fine Men and Women, to put a stop to their harassment of your Citizen's on the Tradeway. Even some of your Mighty Fist joined in this cause to confirm Justice would be done to protect your Crown City.
The Men and Women of our homelands should be commended on their efforts, and should walk proud that Good and Justice was delivered. If it were not for them, I would nay be able to send this letter today.

Humbly,

Honored Dukes of Baldur's Gate,

The City is safe again and the murderer of our children, was dealt with, though one remains in hiding. It is, I am sure no surprise that the citizens of our homelands fought to protect all we know to be good. Some perished in the battle but they will not be forgotten.
I will take my leave and can be found in the Temple of Tyr, where I will await the call if we are needed again.

A messenger arrives at the ducal palace wearing the bronze dragon cloak that marks the symbol of the Weavemasters. He hands a scroll to one of the front guards with instructions that the scroll is for Duke Eltan. The scroll bears the mark of the Weavemasters as well, and is bound in blue and white ribbon.

Honorable Duke Eltan,

It is truly regrettable that our first contact since my return to this wonderful city must be of such a nature. In light of your revelations of our young Captain's actions he and I will speak, and he will learn our place here in the city.

As for our apologies, perhaps yourself or even the Council would have a moment to grant meeting with an old defender of the Baldur's Gate such as myself? I can assure you that my intent in meeting serves our mutual interest in resolving this looming issue.

With All Sincerity,
Weave Exarch Elias Goodmane

The script is written with some elegance, and seems to almost glow a faint blue hue.

Halvor Grizwold: Boisterous and good natured fightin man Dead
Weung Xaiwei: Foreigner

Jonas himself drops off a letter at the ducal palace addressed to the Council of Four. It is written in Jonas' easily identifiable elegant script and sealed with the phoenix crest of house Rokranon.

Honorable Dukes,
I write this letter of a matter of a personal nature, so I understand if it will take some time to look into and decide upon considering your busy schedules. I respectfully request that you consider lifting the banishment from the city of Baldur's Gate currently endured by Valerius of Candlekeep. Although his banishment was to be for a five year period, I petition that his sentence be reduced to the already served portion of over a year due to his lack of any further offenses as well as taking into consideration all that he has done for many adventurers in the areas of both magic and knowledge. Valerius has saved my own life more than once, and has proven a most trustworthy friend; so much so that he has joined my family as a brother to me.

If this reduction of sentence seems too drastic, then I ask you to consider perhaps allowing him to enter under guard from time to time. Valerius has many friends in the city I know he would enjoy visiting, and as I said he has not caused any trouble since the unfortunate indecent with the partial drow over a year ago. Valerius has a much better understanding of the laws now.

I look forward to your response. It has been some time since I have had the honor of speaking with any of you; and even longer since drawing swords together. I hope that Duke Eltan especially has not forgotten standing side by side with me in the siege against Baldur's Gate last year - I know it is something I will never forget.

As always, if I may be of service, please let me know.

Sincerely.

Sir Jonas Rokranon
