BTW, I am all up for not allowing "Oakenshield" or "Eleminster" or whatever as either prefixes or suffix... Just saying don't go crazy over blanketly shutting names down due to "Computer Logic" reasons.

After convincing my brother to play NWN2 with me after the longest time, he made a character with the last name Awsem. After we made these new characters together and got to about level 8, a DM made him change it. My brother then tells me "screw this, I'm going back to Amia". I'm not really a fan of the name-Nazi thing... especially when there are plenty of people logged on and seen by the DMs who have names that are just as much "in violation of the rules".

My original name was simple "Heart-Eater". I would be glad to just add a surname, like "Grug" or similar. Hargar Heart-Eater would be perfect for me. Or even, Hargar Hearteater.

I put the topic here because I thought it would be a good public thing to see, and it helped me alot with the dwarven reminder. Otherwise, I fear I might have been named "steve" forever. In the future, I'll PM a DM.

Regards,

Heart-Eater=Rohahn-Ohanoh

Okay, that's a bad one for the orcish translation.
Roh'noh? Yeah.. I wouldn't name my orc that.

Long live the good Lord Stephen Urkull
Wirg to Pug: "Iz lat dun?"
Pugratix to a snarky militia man: "Mmmm. Not yet. I will live for hundreds of years and be heralded as one of the greatest forces of destruction on the face of the world. The only thing you can destroy is the outhouse."

it should have 3 sounding verbal component and changed to two verbal right now?

is there any problem with my PC name before that it was changed?

I would see a problem with that capitalised Z in the middle of your first name, but whoever made the change left that untouched.

It's been discussed, and Grug Heart-Eater would be acceptable, ask a DM in game to help out with the name change.

I was browsing through the DM journal and was pissed off when I saw that there was guy named Char Aznable. I really hope his name was changed. And sometimes people name PCs after some relatively unknown character from the media industrial media.

The point is that naming is a very careful thing you must do with caution. I prefer to use the basic name of the game and change it a little in unique fashion. By the way, what veterans of the servers do with guys who have similar names with them? I saw girl named Velve.

Just chiming in, but something like "Velve", what about it? A minor derivate from Velvet, which is found e.g. in baby names database.

I believe, Rainbow was referring to the fact that there is already a character with such name.

And, I don't see what's wrong with it. It's not like there is no namesakes (?) IRL.

Velve, drowish word for 'blade' or 'sword'. Well, yes, I hope the players did not count on their namesake IG, which sometimes can give players in depression and ruin the whole history they made.

So? If one's called "Bill", it doesn't make them related to Bill Gates...
