Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
Trebuchets, catapults, wagons, and even a war tower are seen rolling down the Trade Way between batallions of Fist soldiers. The Fist march with determination down towards Beregost as the camp at the Friendly Arm Inn is slowly taken down and transported further south. Lastly, a wagon escorted by a handful of Fist soldiers is the last to leave Baldur's Gate and make its way south towards Beregost. The contents of the wagon is rather unknown, though some could guess what, or who, is inside.
Beregost soon becomes a center of activity as the Flaming Fist begin to prepare themselves defensively. Trenches are dug, the war machines set-up, and the troops prepare for the upcoming battles.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
Word quickly spreads the length of the Sword Coast of the death of Dean Sonlite. The Lathanderite Dawnmaster was seen being carried into the Song of the Morning temple of Beregost, his corpse ridden with arrows. The Flaming Fist vocally declared what they had seen; an Amnian force standing near two corpses, both of which filled with arrows, before the Flaming Fist courageously combatted their foes and managed to defeat them. They then returned the two bodies, along with a third they had found, to the Song of the Morning temple.
While two of the three were able to be returned, the lifeless body of the Lathanderite lay cold on the stone floor, despite the attempts of the Lathanderite priest within the temple to return the spirit of Dean to his body. Several looked on in disbelief at what was happening before their eyes. Shortly after, when it was clear the spirit of the Lathanderite Dawnmaster was not going to return to his body, those gathered bowed their heads silently in prayer.
The preparations for the funeral of Dean Sonlite then began, as the clergy of the Morning Lord greaved the loss of one of their own.
The funeral is to be held in a days time at dusk, as is custom for Lathanderite funerals.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
The funeral for the Lathanderite Dawnmaster, Dean Sonline, commensed at dusk. The sun settled low on the horizon as friends and family gathered to mourn the loss of the man. Many stood up to give a last account of their relationship with Dean, such people including Aearion Caunwaithon, Louise De La'Valliere, Lance Renslin, Rand Quartermaster, and finally Thedran Rock, who played a song for the heroic deed that Dean Sonlite represented: defending and protecting the innocent in war.
As the sun settled, and final words were said, the coffin of the Lathanderite was then returned to the temple where they would proceed with the burial arrangements. It was a depressing day in Beregost, as the Lathanderite church had lost one of their own.

[Rumors of the Sword Coast and Baldur's Gate]
Commander Scar

Rumors spreads around the sword coast that Commander Scar himself, second in command to Duke Eltan of the flaming fist mercenaries, led -alone- a group of known criminals out of Baldur's Gate prison. The bald leader, bearing a scar over the right eye, seemingly quite confident, stoped at the Friendly Arms Inn for a night along with the criminals before continuing south the next day.
A few adventurer have been heard speaking with the nefarious criminals. The most known by villagers and travelers were;
Harry the Butcher, known to have butchered a dozen civilian or more, in Baldur's Gate, and to have resisted to his arrestation by injuring a few flaming fists.
Pito Lastcoin, a rather short and fragile hafling, known to have sold weapons to the Bhaalists during the Bhaal Temple war.
Angelica the Cruel, known to have infiltred noble houses during the night and slitted throats before stealing costly jewelry.
And finally, Frankie. A known Bhaalist, fed by rats in prison since the Bhaal Temple war. Known for countless murders and poison traffics.
During the night, it is said that the criminals were always under the eyes of the flaming fist champions patrolling the Friendly Arms Inn area, but were let lose. Somes have heard that they were escorted to Beregost, to fight along with the flaming fists. Some others said that they'd be used as baits or human walls during a few of the fists strategies. Another've heard that some spell had been used on these dangerous criminals by the flaming fists to ensure they wouldn't flee.
The next day, more criminals have been seen leaving the prison in Baldur's Gate, and being escorted by a few more fists members, unlike Scar who did it alone. The prisoners were all escorted south.
The general population grows weary of the situation, even though most civilians of Baldur's Gate keep hope, given that Eltan is a tactical genious. Though, one thing comes to every lips.
In desperate times, desperate means.
Go home and be a familly cat!

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
A rather introverted Elven sorceress: Ellivanna Ni’alo, known as Echo went missing, though the details of her demise seem to be known to few…
It was said that the rangers of Doron Amar saw her depart in her usual manner, heading toward the Friendly Arm Inn seeking the Headmaster… Just after dawn.
Very few can say what happened after that as she only spoke to two when she arrived at the Friendly Arm Inn… though perhaps someone is fortunate to remember that she was seeking Rhys Feivra, or Wendel Ashby … as well as some information on Wish spells. In any case, she left the Friendly Arm and headed toward Candlekeep.
It was a destination she would never make, however. The only clue to her disappearance seems to be a highly frantic familiar. The cat, was seen trying to get aid, and hoping no one killed the messenger… but it is highly odd for the gray feline to be without her mistress.
What has happened since her disappearance is yet a mystery… but recent happenings bode ill, and the Elven woman… if alive at all… is likely to be in dire straits.

And though I played the role,
I lost my soul, it's still within your heart.
It took a part of me, the heart of me..
To watch it fade away, It's over now..
Shades of blue and purple haunt me..

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
After many months of intense negotiations -- and many more months spent building -- the construction of the Order of the Radiant Heart's keep outside of Baldur's Gate is complete. Encircling the Mercy Orphanage, this stone keep's brave paladins and priests are contracted to defend the city from incursions of the undead.
According to the town crier in central Beregost and the town criers throughout Baldur's Gate, the Radiant Heart's Prelates in Athkatla (the leaders of the international organization of the goodly-hearted) had this to say about the Baldur's Gate branch:
"We're proud of our brothers and sisters to the north for this tremendous accomplishment. Our fraternity transcends all other loyalties, even those to home and country, and we could not be happier to hear about their successes on the Sword Coast. The prelates there are truly a credit to the Order."

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
Rumor has it that Duke Entar Silvershield plans to host a fund-raising gala next tenday for the sake of rebuilding the Palace District.
Will it be open to the more common folk? It is possible, if Entar hopes to get funding from as many sources as possible.
A formal announcement has yet to be made, but one thing is for sure: everyone who is anyone will likely attend.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
Chaos broke out at the campfire today. A Fist officer swears that he saw an elf throw some sort of poison into the crowd, an earth genasi named Raego struck down the well-known bardess named Julindra, and he suspects a human woman of dabbling in dark powers.
The Fist officer took the genasi and the elf into custody for their part in the pandemonium.
The genasi remains in custody for now, but the elf managed to escape the Fist while they were preparing to brand him.
The Fist are searching for the elven fugitive, and will pay handsomely for a name... or a head.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
The Sword Coast is abuzz with the news:

The nobility pull out their finest attire in anticipation of this event.
Rumor has it that some sort of street fair will be held as well.
//Edit: In the post, I am treating GP as copper, to make things more realistic. So 100 GP = 100 copper = one gold piece. Hope that makes sense!//

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
The Fist were given an anonymous tip. It was pretty shaky evidence, nevertheless the Fist will look into it. They are looking for a man named Thralulith, an elf who has white hair and white robes, to take in for questioning.DM MR wrote:The Fist are searching for the elven fugitive, and will pay handsomely for a name... or a head.

Rumour has it that a man named Hael - described as a pale-skinned aasimar with dark hair and wearing druid clothing - is wanted for questioning by the Flaming Fist. Rumours as to why vary, but most (predictably) paint Hael as a nasty and dangerous individual who should be avoided. As of yet however, there is no bounty of any kind on the man.

[Rumours Around Baldur's Gate and the Sword Coast]
The Friendly Arm Inn was in an uproar today. Apparently, a drow revealed himself directly outside the front gates. He was swiftly met with a volley of arrows from the walls, but managed to flee. The guard reacted by deploying along the Trade Way and immediately calling up the Flaming Fist. An elite Fist unit, with their veteran sniffer dog 'Perfect', gave pursuit and were joined by many adventurers.
They tracked the drow some distance, chasing him all the way to Durlag's Tower, but he evaded capture. The pursuants were slowed by the need to notify Amnian authorities of the chase and avoid any border issues.
Despite the drow's escape, the investigation is not over. It is reported that the drow may have travelled with a possible accomplice - the well-known tiefling ranger named Merrok - who is now wanted by the Fist for questioning.

Thanks to an anonymous tip by someone named "Jack," the previously thought to be dead Tamina Lightstep has been captured by the Fist. She was trying to hide under cover of invisibility, accompiced by a female hin and an old male spellcaster. Her fate is all but decided. My ship plowed through the storm.

[Rumours Around Beregost]
Rumours spread of a Flaming Fist garrison having gathered in Beregost in the early hours of the morning, and assembled in ceremonial formation. Captain Meredith Silvershield commanded the unit as they stood in the town centre, facing south. A large contingent of Amnian soldiers, specially uniformed and led by Golden Legionaire Miraz Castilla, entered the town from the south, coming to a halt in the middle opposite their Baldurian counterparts.
Adventurers and passers-by gathered to watch, an eerie quiet descending over the normally rowdy crowd as the scene played out with apparent gravity. The officers stepped forward, exchanged smart salutes, and words thereafter. The words were few, but formal and obviously scripted. The Fist garrison then turned on their heels and departed from Beregost, marching north. The Amnian contingent remained.
This turn of events was greeted with some surprise and hostility from the adventurers, but mostly fatigued apathy from the locals. When one adventurer remarked "But they cannot just give your town away!", a local gazed bemusedly around at the ruined buildings and replied "What town?"
