i gues with enough buffs they really dont get hit. and if they go AFK they might pick mobs that are quite a bit lower level then them. they might not get as much xp per kill as with other mobs, but why would they care if they arent infront of the pc anyway... safe and easy xp

My friend has a favored soul that he leveled from 1-20 in 5 days legit, it's actually not that hard. You just have to know the spots and have no life. No afk killing is required. He has caught other ppl afk camping though during that time, the haunted horrors seem to be a favorite spot of such people.

Should we set an XP cap per day?

If someone wants to do nothing but gain XP, then they are missing the point of the server and I feel sorry for them.

Yeah but if they find that enjoyable, why bother stopping them?

1. Make it explicitly against the rules

2. People can take screenshots of any character not responding to conversation who is surrounded by loot bags

3. Make them KoS

That would solve the problem, if you want to solve it, if it's a problem.

Oh and IIRC there's a Cloak that has Regen +1 (not sure about anything else) so if you only get hit on a 20 that is probably enough to keep you going.

Ah, regen. I was a little confused when they put that item in the game.

*spots player in middle of nowhere, no afk sign*

*creature comes in, attacks, gets killed*

*spawns another, has the critter say or emote something, still no response.*

*sends tell: "Afk?". no reply*

*comes back later, player is still there.*

*ports player to new DM Area. leaves message: "The happy little prankster spriggans have carried your comatose, sleeping body, to a place unknown, you have no idea how to get out or where you are."*

*leaves tell, saying when you get back, I will port you back.*


Perhaps not illegal, but certainly can be disruptive, if you just leave your char in a place unattended.

I wish I still had that pic of the drow, surrounded by dozens of loot bags in the mushrooms.

While I totally hate the XP camping biznatches... I can only half blame a person.

I mean... the difference between mindless grinding for XP and camping is... well... a few mouseclicks.

And mindless grinding is acceptable in the present rules. Heh heh.

...Better than what I've seen a certain DM do. He was kinda de-leveled from 10-2.

Sadly the guy wasn't surprised that it would happen and shrugged it off

he he... thats the way to do it ... the rest of us who has grinded. has done it the mindnumbing way. when you start to think about jumping out the window head first...

BG is not rule heavy but the DMs can be strict.

1st time caught: DMs take 25,ooo xp
2nd time caught: DMs take 50,ooo xp and ALL gold
3rd time caught: DMs take 5 levels and item of choice from AFKer

Upon a player successfully reporting to a DM with many screen shots they are given a free teleport to the late white dragon lair to loot all 6 chests. and a safe escort to the city of Nashville, TN.

We would never see this thing again! Power to the RP!
