Can you please pick a time for the next event which is playable for people in europe as well?
The event was on 3 a.m. on Monday here. If making it much earlier isn't an option, switching to friday or Saturday would help the people who do not have to work on weekends at least.
Playing a paladin and not being able to attend... Well, it was pretty much impossible to justify it IC.

Arwyroe was clearly on duty somewhere else holding down the fort while everyone else was gallivanting around. Thus playing a crucial role in defending the city when so many were unavailable to keep it safe.
That, or he got distracted by someone very pretty
Unfortunately, not everything can fit everyone's schedules. For one, the two main people coordinating this are in American timezones. I'm sure other events will happen closer to your time zone - but then ballet classes, vacations, music festivals or weddings may cause you or others not to be able to attend. We do our best and I think the huge turnout of about 30 players was quite enough, even a bit overkill. I'm sure other events will work out for you! *hug*

I cannot totally agree here. Of course everyone has to prioritise what to do in her/his spare time. If ballet classes, vacations, music festivals or weddings are more important to you than playing a computer game (which I hope

), you will probably miss some server events. But you actually had a chance to participate, but you choose something more important. To complain here would be totally silly.
But: Picking Sunday evenings EST excludes the second biggest group of players on the server from the very beginning: Europeans. There may be a handful Europeans who are lucky enough not to have to go to work, university or school on Monday morning, but that's a very small minority. The vast majority has no chance of participating. Because the events takes place when they already desperately need to be sleeping and will end shortly before they have to be at work, university or school.
The only way I could manage to play would be to call in sick on Monday. Which would probably endanger my engagement, so it is not an option. To get a free day on Monday would be the other way, but the announcements of these events are way too short-term. Besides, we are in the holiday season at the moment. I won't get any additional free days in the next 2 or 3 months.
The next event is a hour earlier. Well, I appreciate the idea but it doesn't change anything for me. And yeah, I can come up with some IG excuse every time but it's just no fun to be excluded from the main story line. Especially if your character is of the type who would do everything to participate.

Try to organize the next one then, everybody has his own timezone problem, a caravan event in euro hours would probably also work

Only fix I can see is your character taking initiative to start something. Then, when an event is necessary -- you are the boss! So you choose the time. You can't blame a person in America for not wanting to log on early throughout the day. It's summer; people want to go out and do stuff. If it fits most people being late, then they aren't really going to sacrifice their days.
I've been on its receiving end so many times, Nelty. Being left out hurts, but...what are you really gaining from being bothered about it? Start some RP and get it going, you'll never be left out and it'll be enjoyable! Initiative!
((This was in no way meant to be an insult. Tone translates horribly through text.))

Check this thread mate. These are a FEW of the events Darkshard is involved in. The deep blue color, if I am not mistaken, also means that
it (Darkshard itself) is also Campaign Coordinator for the server. Now, I can only imagine the amount of work that takes. Plus, it is often policing the forums.
I am pretty sure you cannot ask Darkshard, or any other of our vastly overworked DMs to consider every single player when they plan events. It's just too complicated. I am Euro as well, and I have the same problem: but we have to make do, play when we can, initiate something ourselves when we cant participate to the big happening.
When an event comes in our playtime and we can participate, then great. But by my side, I say this of Darkshard: it's even hard to guess its TIMEZONE, as it is always around when you need/throwing events like shurikens...
I think a thank you is in order, indeed. Thank you Darkshard, thank you staff.

Alright, you've got a good point there, Aelcar.
I just thought that Lampir could probably find a friday or saturday evening in his local time so Europeans could participate.
But I completely left out Darshard here, who is essential to whole thing. And yeah, his schedule looks horribly like a working timetable. With a small difference regarding payment...
I apologize for complaining!
