*word amongst the locals spread fast, a dark clad and heavilly armored jalil has made an appearance in the region lately. However common that may be, this one seemed to be of higher esteem than a normal Yathrin. Her hair was bright as the purest silver and her eyes blood red like an elderly dragon in its prime years. Everywhere around her vermins and aberrations of all sorts seem to crawl forth and follow her from a distance, this jalil radiates with power of her goddess and a chill runs down the spine of even the boldest jaluk that lays eyes on her in this center of trade and the arcane*

Word quickly reached the guards of this mighty manifestation of the Spider Queens will, she is one to keep an eye on. Meanwhile the few Yathrins that roamed in Sshamath, along with their servants, had started to aquire information of ancient creatures in the local area. One in particular had asked a sorcerous collector of various reagents, if he knew about any spider activity between Sshamath and Ched Nasad. Apparently they had little interest in common spiders, however high esteemed by their Queen they may be, but sought information of remnants of ancient guardians and demon hunters, the notorious and feared "Bebilith" was mentioned a few times but without further explination.

Something was gathering the clergy of Lloth and had their full attention...

One of the gate guards doesn't show up for duty. Upon further investigation, he is found dead in his home. The house looks normal enough, one glass of wine and a half eaten plate of food in front of him. As the guards ask around the City, they find that he was last seen leaving The Gloura's Wings with a female drow of remarkable beauty...

The crypt west of Varalla's is teeming with unusually large numbers of undead. Rumor has it some powerful arcane force is involved.

The School of Necromancy isn't pleased by the competition.

Most loyal citizens scoff as they hear the rumor, but it continues to move around the city. Two new outsiders to the city, claiming to be of House Vandree. And claiming to be only the vanguard. Most ignore the rumor. Some however choose to pay attention and start looking in the usual places newcomers to the city frequent.

A name is being spoken in hushed voices amongst the common citizens and "guests" of the city alike. Emente' d'Ap'za. Who or what is it? Either no one knows... Or no one is talking.

Rumours have begun circulating that the ghost of a female Drow has been sighted in the Underdark west of Varalla's Passage. Antas'aere has offered a small reward for any information.

[Most people will know:]

The bloodied and mangled corpse on the lower end of the malfunctioning School of Mages teleporter was recently identified as that of Associate Quil Arken'tlar - a notoriously controversial member of the teaching staff. In the aftermath of a gruesome freak accident, several enchanted metal plates were found to have been misaligned, causing Arken'tlar's body to be improperly reassembled. He bore more resemblance to ground rothe than a wizard upon arrival.

[With reasonable Sshamath lore or connections:]

Arken'tlar was commonly referred to as "The Losstouched" by his detractors, owing to a peculiar devotion to Shar and an unbridled tendency towards the proposal of crazed theories. He was a member of the unrecognized Shadow Weave Academy prior to his acceptance as a visiting associate within the main school. The damaged teleporter component was replaced quickly, but speculations abound as to whether it was a rockslide or deliberate sabotage.

[With outstanding Sshamath lore or connections:]

The damage to the teleporter was found by certain curious mages to have been magical. The killing of Quil Arken'tlar was covered up well, but it must have been conducted by a skilled, professional assassin. Of course, there are dozens of people who might have ordered it. Certain members of the teaching staff thought Arken'tlar's theories to be a pointless pursuit, and even his own allies within the Shadow Weave Academy often saw him as an embarrassment... perhaps even an obstruction to their constant bid for a seat among the Conclave.

Over the last couple days in certain areas of the city of Sshamath trade has increased. For the first time in months, it appears that Bregan D'aerthe has been placing a lot of effort back into being a trading organization within the city. This has unsuprisingly come along after the recent loss of the older leader of Bregan D'aerthe, though the new leader has yet to publicly announce him or herself. The most recent shipment brought in was a large order of exotic fruit from the surface. Rumors spread how Bregan D'aerthe members fought off Ilithids and other horrid monstrousities to bring delicacies into the city, though that is most likely an exaggeration on the part of the Bregan D'aerthe members. Either way, for good or for bad it seems like Bregan D'aerthe is acting as a professional force in the city once more.

Hawkers and customers alike are a little supprised when a patrol of soldiers from the School of Necromancy discovers the week old rotten corpse of a male in a rothe' enclosure dressed smartly in the house colors of Mori'hyanda.

The soldiers had been in the act of taking posession of the rothe' following the owner's sudden dissapearnce dissapearance and reports of the masterless rothe' wandering the market disrupting business.

The word regarding the aftermath of the Bregan D'aerthe and Mori'hyanda conflict has been quiet indeed, but the smart whispers say that the Lolthites are taking the brunt of the blame. Some tongues even claim that an ultimatum has been issued to the House by a coalition of several Conclave schools. Accounts are mixed, but most agree on one aspect. Those within the House who oppose Ilharess Amal'launim have been offered one chance to deliver her to the Charnag Maelthra in exchange for a return to the usual backing of the Conclave. Failure to deliver the Matron would result in the House's complete and utter annihilation.

The most severe and exaggerated rumors, of course, propagate the fastest.

Lips are looser than usual concerning the activities of the School soldiers in the deep tunnels, rumour is that one such patrol is going to be striking some sort of "unlicensed" trade camp.

/// Had to push this back looking at the 25th now.
