"Well my good fellow, that is the best suggestion I have heard so far. However...shall it be that we embark upon our journey this evening? Why not, I say! Tis but a half-day to prepare...but you strike me as a man always prepared."

Odilon nods in agreement to Adam, and with his own words. He leaves shortly the Helm & Cloak, to visit shops within the Gate to prepare himself for this...journey. There are but a few hours left for him to rightly prepare.

A particular booth was the destination of much traffic from morning until late evening. One patron, a blonde haired woman in purple, remained constant. Expressions and atmosphere dipped and rose with various topics, ending on an unmistakable high note. The woman then retired upstairs to the same room which had been listed as occupied for the recent half-ten day.

A head of a feast planned by the Whistling Wanderess crew, Jon Smythe arrives at the Helm and Cloak early...his preciseness manifesting as such. As always, the Knights of the Unicorn are holding their regular revelries, and so, Smythe engages the famous Jolboss. Such a good-natured point-of-view expounded by the Knights, intrigues Smythe's better nature. Or maybe it's that latent Elven blood being stirred....

Soon though, he attentions turn to the party....

Hoihe stands before the Inn, wearing elven fineries, as he scans for newcomers to arrive!

The wanderess crew have retreated to the larger room, where they make merry, full of both meat and mead, and of acquintances new and old.

And the day's merriment come to an end! People slowly dispersed, and eventually Hoihe, Soora and the new-comer Erenvir teleport back home. Lucky for the estabilishment, Hoihe paid ahead, and quite generously!

The Helm & Cloak...legendary within Baldur's Gate for its revelry and ale-free environment, now famous for its safe harbor in such dire, bleak times.

By the grace and generosity of a rarely recognized half-elf swordsman, wine and food flows for free on his tab, as those that manage to convince the burly doorman they are fully living beings and do not have any poisons potions of swirly, green, snot-like liquid upon their person, are heartily welcomed inside and given respite from the suffering that has been brought to the Gate by mismanaged planning. Alas...time cannot be changed backward, so some do what some do...and others, do what they do, but as long as all are busy doing something, then, a glimmer of faith flickers in the cold, evil, deathly night. So say we all....

Speaking of nights...those within the Helm & Cloak are much comforted by the knowing that the seasoned company of the Knights of the Unicorn keep a sharp watch upon the door, windows and situation outside the Feast House, or not. These known adventurers of the Realm and sworn merry makers in the face of possibly insurmountable odds, they carry little worries nor fear, naturally, it appears...and such, those inside the Helm & Cloak, have their spirits very high and their feet warm (and the flowing kegs of drink helps!).

Subject: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
DM Golem wrote:Shocked nobles, staying at the Helm & Cloak as repairs are underway on their mansions damaged during the war, speak of a burglary at the Inn. Apparently one night recently thieves made off with coin, fine wine, expensive victuals and some sumptuous crystal goblets.

The management are said to be livid, although far worse, in the minds of the noble guests, are the shocking pewter goblets now being offered as a temporary stopgap, and the scarcity of Calimsharian Amber.

One noble in particular is seen ranting long and loud at a beleaguered member of the staff about how his prized magical quill, placed in the basement for safekeeping, has gone missing.
The Knights of the Unicorn—famous and strong in their time—as long-time residents of the Helm & Cloak, are surprised and all-together bewildered that they had not a moment from which to protect their defacto guild hall.

However...some of their members start speaking directly and loudly to whomever crossed into the Helm & Cloak from this point onward—justice will be dealt.

But of course, and first...the Knights raise many glasses to the coming call to arms.

The ranger of Lurue Adam Rivers, having worked as security to the Gala that was held at the Duchal Palace, returns to the Helm and Cloak Inn for a deserved drink with his fellow knights. Suprised to hear the sad news, Adam would try to look into the matter. He would start by asking the noble that lost his magical quill

Within the Helm & Cloak...

Two sworn to the ideals of the Knights of the Unicorn speak together. They raise their glasses to a determined plan...though huddled near the bar, they keep their voices low.

Later, they speak their intentions to the assembled with the Helm & Cloak—one they would place their trust in, as it is familiar to them. Smythe and Rivers speak about reputation, about righting wrongs...of the ease of which they will have success!! They then raised a number of glasses more, of glowfire wine, which pleased them all.

If there were unfamiliar faces within the hall, it would be sure that Jon Smythe and Adam Rivers, through the revelry of a new puzzling adventure, would take a curiosity.

A moon-elf wearing a blue cloak and a fancy hat, the same who has been known to rent a room at the Inn once or twice every tenday over the past season or two, would wander into the Helm and Cloak some time early one evening wearing a decidedly bland expression and carrying a tome under his right arm. The elf would offer Morris a customary vague tip of his hat as he sidled up to the bar.

The two men at the bar, if they were still present, would easily notice the faint traces of scarred tissue lingering about the moon-elfs lower jaw, a wound that might suggest the elf got a bit too close to a fireball... or something similar. While the wound seems clearly to have seen some significant healing, the elf would, in an apparent moment of self-consciousness, stroke his jaw with a single finger, scarcely offering a glance in the direction of any other patrons and instead directing his attention towards Morris.

Upon ordering his usual beverage of choice, a water, one of the elfs thin eyebrows would lift slightly at being offered such in a pewter goblet. The elfs second eyebrow would likely arc upwards to join the first upon hearing about the recent events, a brief expression of bemusement flickering over the elfs features as he shook his hatted head and shrugged over the bar. After exhaling the lightest of sighs out of his thin nose, the elf would begin to peruse the inner pockets of his cloak, and two small bags of coin would find their way onto the counter-top shortly thereafter.

"My usual room, if it's available. And, please, feel free to spend the gratuity on some new glasswear... I prefer to see the color of the water I'm drinking."

Despite the lightly offered tone of his jest, and the brief apologetic smirk that plays across his thin lips, the elf speaks somewhat absently, while his thumb twisted a ring on his forefinger... almost as if his thoughts were elsewhere. After offering a quick glance around the room, the hatted elf, water in one hand and tome in the other, makes his way to the large circular table and takes up the chair facing the door, crossing one leg over the other as he began to thumb through the pages of his book...
