It was clear to any one who had met Zolf that some thing was wrong. He no longer wore his mask, and had stripped him self of his armor completely. Only part of him that remained was a Falchion that sat in its sheath and clung to his back.

When he speaks on topics of interest he no longer uses sarcasm, nor does his voice carry his none chalant and ruthless point of views. Instead he cowersand became increasingly agitated. Pushed enough he would out right flee the scene. It could be said Zolf had become a completely different person.

No longer traveling out of the gate from fear of what lurked beyond, Zolf now has a new obsession. Selah Shartress was her name, it is the only thing he seemed to take interest in. Library of the weave masters now contained books about Selah from a one hundred page essay on why Selah smile was like cold chocolate dessert on a hot day. To a book of poems that mostly consisted on things that Selah had said.

With in three days of this new person Zolf idolized, he becomes the founder of the new fan club of Selah Shartress. Walking down the Istari tower he begins to walk around with a shirt with her face painted on it. Passing out posters he tries to recruit members for his new fan club.

Selune's silvery light is the only witness to the lone mage approaching the hidden entrance to Istari Tower. Cloaked in grey from head to toe, his cowl is pulled low to only show the slightest hint of his dirty blonde beard. He quickens his pace he approaches, speaking the only word left to deactivate the wards to the door that is known only to himself and one other. Once in the door he quickly works to replace the wards that he had deactivated.

Once safely inside the cowled mage moves with purpose through the levels of the tower with familiarity and ease. Once he reaches the top floor and the room that he desires, he speaks a command to light the hearth that is freshly stocked. He removes his grey travelling cloak, sets his staff in the corner, and pulls a large, dusty tome from his travelling pouch.

"Ahhh, it truly is good to be home once again."

Over the course of the last three or four days the Exarch has seemed a bit more reclusive than usual. A smile has not left his face, and he has looked younger than his age would allow. Istari Tower has been littered with rumors upon attendants seeing Elias preparing for a journey. He has given only the briefest of answers when asked where he may be going or for what purpose, and only those closest to him know of the reason behind his journey.

The day of his departure the Exarch called upon an immediate gathering of the Council.

As the council gathered, every member seemed to know the reason they were summoned. Many questions were asked, and Elias's answer was nothing short of cryptic.

"This is a personal quest my friends. I will be seeking answers to many questions that have been haunting me for a very long time. All of you have proven yourselves worthy to see to matters in my absence. Rest assured, I have no intention of leaving you for good."

With that Elias said his farewells to his close friends, clapping some on the shoulders, and reasurring them individually that he would return. He exited the council room with an ear to ear grin and a spring in his step. His questions would soon be answered.

Each piece of clothing had many magical runes woven into then fabric.*

The request:

Guildmembers who pass the entrance to the inner parts of the Istari-Tower will be stopped by a large gathering around one of the bulletinboards, which are attached along the walls of the hallway.

The crowd - made up mainly by younger members from the various branches of the guild - seems to be excited and upset at the same time.
Those who try to follow the cloud of chatter hear:

"...volunteers? For what?...uhm...but that's suicide, such things are handled by other organizations...sorry?...pick me! pick me!...hells! What are you thinking this is a unique opportunity...has someone seen my spellbook?...to get roasted...no, to earn honour and glory of course!...lessons are about to start so, you know...and don't forget the scientific aspect such sheds are rare!...hello-ho? anybody?...but that's in Amn-controlled territory, that's miles and miles away...i think this "thing" isn't interrested in being controlled at all...a friend of a friend told me that this request was made directly by the family of our famous Captain...Paah,rumors...hey!By the way what kind of armor do i need for this journey?Protection against fire or ice?...i will tell Master McGee about everybody of you not attending his class today!... *a slapping-noise can be hearn*...ouch!...besides a ton of luck, an army and the biggest sword and the mightiest spell? Hmmm...take both!"

Siomir paused in the hallway at the babble of voices, looking up from the book he'd been thumbing through. Mildly amazed by the crowd before the bulletin board in this usually quiet and peaceful place, he craned his neck to see exactly what was causing all the excitement. His lips moved as he read, and a slow, lazy smile ghosted them when he realized the import.

"A dragon...." he muttered, closing the book distractedly. After months of recovering his discipline here at the tower, this would be a good test. The weeks spent near the Troll Ford were but preparation.

A specter of a remembered presence in his mind drawled a whisper, "It will kill you, sweet Siomir... you will die for little" He slammed the door on the memory, his face hardening as he thought, "I will never truly be rid of you... but I don't have to listen to you. It is what I am, what I do. Still I see you in my trances, live through your eyes... But I AM NOT YOURS!"
His mind swam for the barest of seconds as he reasserted himself, the memories of terrible days and faces of those harmed, yet only a flicker in his eyes betrayed the moment.

Moving forward, he threaded his way through the press of bodies before the board and with a bit of charcoal there for writing one's name, he carefully wrote his own. Nodding to the others as they filled the vacuum when he moved away, he returned to his room to closely examine his arms and meditate on the future.

The sensation of falling through blue nothingness had ended just as quickly as it had begun. In the blink of an eye Elias was standing inside the walls of Istari Tower behind a throng of eagerly jibbering students. The attention suddenly turned to the exarch once he was noticed. Questions did abound as to his whereabouts in the past few weeks, as well as his seemingly appearing out of thin air.

With a warm smile Elias asked the throng.

"So much excitement over a bulletin?"

"Master Elias, we're happpy you've returned! Please tell us of your travels."

"In due time my young friends you will hear every detail. From the encampment of foul orcs, to my arrival at Blackstaff Tower. Let me only say that when you think of me as being stern; you would do well to visit Master Arunsun at his tower."

Elias laughed as he spoke, he did not hide his jovial manner from his students.

"Now, as for the fuss over this bulletin? Let me have a look for myself."

As Elias read the notice, the students behind him waited anxiously. More than a few shifting feet, others silent as could be while holding their breath.
The exarch picked up the piece of charcoal and added his name to the list of those that would be along for the hunt.

"If any should enquire of my return, I will be in my chambers penning a personal response to the request of my friends. It is good to look upon your faces once again, and if you decide to add your name to this list be certain to bring your finest gear. White dragons may not be the wisest of their race, but they are still something to be greatly feared."

Elias gave a wink and smile as he departed from the crowd to his private chamber.

It was a sunny morning and the students were already attending their classes when Bernard finally woke up! More staggering like a zombie than walking like a human he approached an envelope, slit through under his door.

"Hmm, looks important...oh!"

As he unfold's the letter, the copy of another message falls to the ground drawing his attention. While he is working through the text he starts to frown.

He crumples up the paper and throws it into the corner of his room
After locking the door behind him he made his way along the hallway to the bulletinboards. Reading lot's of names on the list of volunteers raised his mood a bit.
As Bernard takes off the list to prepare it for a letter he mutters with a smile on his face:

"Well, they are either brave or stupid. At least this force should be a real assistance to our friends. MESSENGER!" he yells, before realising that he might disturb the students in the classrooms "Bring this to the Blade & Stars Inn, the Wyndsouls await our answer."

The Masters were holding lessons as the sound of snapping whips and squeaking wheels reached Bernards ear. He walked down the hallway and leaned out of a window just as the caravan stopped right before the entrance to the Istari-Tower, "...about time!"

"Hold! This is it, now get the damn cargo off of me wagons, QUICK! We got coins to earn and other customers are waiting already."

After muttering a quick prayer to Waukeen and cursing the stupidity and incompetence of his lazy personal, the caravan-leader starts to instruct his men which of the many crates they should stack up at the entrance to the home of the Weavemasters
Bernard tries to haste down the steps to greet the caravan-leader, but the Quartermaster Hillrin Firmbeard was faster - already yelling at the helpless merchant who tries to convince him to sign a delivery-confirmation-note.

"..ya blockin' our door dammit! Who the hells tol' ya ta bring that bloody stuff over here? Can ya tell me where i should stock that mess? Who made tha order anyway? Always me gets to know last..."

After giving a quick nod to the giggeling guardians, Bernard approaches one of the wagons and starts to examine the weapons and armor which he ordered in preparation for the journey. He grabs a bow and pulls the string for a few times before he starts to check the actual handling of the weapon.
Image
Without looking to the merchant, who is still confronted with an outraged Quartermaster, he asks:

"Did you brought the arrows i have ordered? I would like to take a loo--"

He suddenly stops as a booming voice errupts from the open doors of the tower - silencing everyone nearby at once, even Hillrin. A few confused looks later everyone continues to go on with work.Firmbeards assistents almost finished carrying the equipment to the armory of the tower as the still protesting and cursing dwarf finally signed the merchant's papers.

"Now gimme that!I hope fer ya that nothin' is missin'. "

It was late morning at Istari Tower, and Elias was teaching his class. He lectured on feeling the Weave, and using what's felt as a tool to shape magic.

"You cannot cast your spells without the Weave. You cannot see without your eyes. When you touch the walls of this tower your hands relay to your mind that they are course. Your mind can and will.....learn to tell you of fluctuations in the fabric of the Weave, and just what those fluctuations mean."

Elias was pacing through the room, weaving between the benches that held the students. One hand was flat behind his back, and the other held a long pointed rod used to slap hands of sleepy students.

"Before I let you leave for the day, I have one very valuable lesson you must all hear."

The exarch's features grew stern as he gazed around the room, his eyes boring into each and every student in turn as he spoke.

"Those who choose the life of a wizard always are to seek knowledge. This is, in part, how we become better at what we do. THERE IS....."

Elias's voice boomed, filling not only the classroom, but most of Istari Tower even though he did not yell.

"You MUST not allow your lust for knowledge to overcome you as many do. Some will put this quest above all others in their life."

The exarch's pace picked up as he seemingly was growing annoyed with nobody in particular.

"Those who do so forsake their friends, their families. They go through a transformation that I would see not one of my students go through! Some even stoop to the course of commiting or aiding great acts of evil to further their lust for that which is unknown to them! These people are but empty shells, and will benefit not one person but themselves! If, for any reason I sense any of you"

Elias took the long narrow stick and waved it around the room with a flourish.

"acting as such, you will be banned from this school! Is that understood?"

With that, every student was apt to lose their eyeballs they nodded their heads so vigorously. Elias's smile returned and his face softened at the sight of his eager pupils.

"Remember my young friends, that we use the Art to protect this land and it's people. We go to no length to make ourselves rich or futher our own desires. That is all for today magelings, you are dismissed."

Sir Jonas, busy caring for his wife these past few weeks, left the tower for a brief walk about the city. He made certain to stop in and visit his temple, and thus gained strength. When he returned to Istari, the paladin was greeted by two other members of the guild. One was returning some borrowed gold, which Jonas had completely forgotten about. The other wished to speak with him privately, and Jonas granted the request.

In the private quarters of his fellow Weaver, Jonas hears some disturbing news. After a conversation of many other topics, Jonas left to write a very important letter, slipping it under the door of one he considers a good friend.

Somewhere at the docks,a cold, wet night. Rain turns the narrow alleys into a rapid stream of water. Wrapped up in a dirty cloak a hooded man stands on the step to a house-entrance and puffs a pipe, knowing that everyone of his steps is well-watched in this part of the city. The clouds break up and the sun slowly starts to rise as he mutters to himself:

"Well,i guess he aint comin'. "

Shiftchange - Workers, merchants and Sailors take over from thugs, drunkards and prostitutes. Bernard makes his way back to the tower.
The walls of Istari are already filled with life, half asleep he drags himself up the stairway ignoring everyone who greets him. A yawn followed by a clicking noise, the door behind him is locked:

"Finally, time to sleep."

Before he draws the curtains he picks up a pack of envelopes laying in front of the exit, obviously slit through under the door. One of them draws his attention.
A minute later the door to his room flips open and hits the wall with a banging noise. Bernard rushes down the hallway. On his way he grabs the nearest Weaveguardian and yells at him about:

"...INCREASING THE DAMN SECURITYMEASURMENTS AT ONCE YOU LAZY..."

After calming himself down, and explaining the situation to a superior of the confused guard things start to evolve. A few minutes later additional Guardians can be seen taking up positions at key-points inside the tower, especially at the entrance to the inner parts of the tower and the private quarters of the guildmembers. Meanwhile Bernard instructed a pair of scouts to focus on surveilance around the east-gate-district.Noone would enter Istari unnoticed.

It was almost noon now and Bernard could finally rest - in the libary - with his head laying on a tome and a Shartess quill of neverending colours in his hand.

On a sunny day when the crystal clear blue skies are not hiding behind the veil of the white clouds, and gentle golden sun rays are streaming down freely, a courier approaches the Istari Tower. Lifting up his head to marvel at the impressive building, he nearly trips over the step of the stairs. Cursing, he nevertheless manages to keep his balance and not to drop down the delievery he is holding in his hands.

Upon entering the premises, he places his delivery onto the desk and announces to a clerc at the desk, revealing his two missing teeth in a grin:

"'Tis for the Rokranon couple."

After gawping at the interiors of the Istari, he finally leaves the building.

What he has left is a woven basket adorned with blue and white ribbons interwining in a fancy pattern. The basket is filled with fresh wild flowers in azure and lily-white colours; in the middle of it, on a silken ivory-tinted pillow there is a beautifully crafted porcelain doll in a an ornamented lazuline dress; a plain white envelope is cluthced in the doll's small hand. The note inside reads:

"Jonas and Alistaria,

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. May she grow to be a beautiful, kind, and giving young lady who makes an impact on all those around her and beyond.

May the days of her parents be filled with joy.

And may the Lady of Luck smile upon your family.

Sincerely,

-Aileen."

Ali accepts the gift and smiles at the exceptional craftsmanship of the doll. After reading the note, she sits next to Inara's bassinet and looks down at her child. A slow smile spreads across her face as she moves to the desk to send a thank you to Aileen. She sends the note to the woman's room once she finishes.

Miss Aileen,

Thank you for the lovely and thoughtful gift. Inara already holds her little arms out for the doll and cries when I take it away. Jonas and I are very grateful for your kind words and thoughts.

Ilmater's Blessings,
Alistaria

Elias, holding a rather large canter of milk, smiled as he took the sealed scroll with his free hand and stuffed it into his carrying pouch. When his hand came back out he held three gold coins in his fist for the lad who so faithfully delivered letter after letter between himself and the brothers. With an exaggerated grin the boy rushed out of Istari Tower, and the Exarch departed for the foyer to read his latest correspondence.

The mage began to smile as he read from Dallenthel's letter. A slight twinkle came into his eyes as he recalled the name that seemed almost forgotten, tucked away in the back of his mind. When he was done reading he drained the remaining milk in his glass and smiled accenting his white mustache.

Seeing the busy street below his grin widened. He crumpled the parchment while he mumbled a few choice words, and tossed the paper into the air. At the peak of it's travel skyward Elias issued a single command word that sent the parchment soaring into the night sky blazing a trail of blue and gold fire. The once ball of paper again reached it's zenith and exploded with a deafening boom into a brilliant white and blue star. It held it's shape for only a moment, then seemingly fell apart into twinkling sparks that reached halfway back to the ground.

Elias smiled and waved to the cheering crowd below, over half of those who were still gaping into the star filled sky in awe. Then he picked up his empty goblet and went inside.

"Another Wyndsoul,"Elias shook his head still grinning as he walked the corridor to his chamber. "Keagan, you kept yourself much busier than I had thought."
