Valefort says "persistent", but he does not mean "neverending" (even because we have no Persistent Spell feat on BGTSCC, it's been disabled): he means "damage-over-time" spells. Clouds and walls that remain in play for more than one round. If persistent AoEs were allowed you could do some shenaningans like grease + cloudkill and sit in the middle while pulling the mobs to you. Among other combinations ... best to leave this untouched.
The highest level persistant spells would be level 3.
I'd like persistent spell for lvl 2 and 1 spells at least. Or maybe a quad extend spell?
Despite this big but necessary limitation, MoS is a good feat to take.
