It might be 25% but it is certainly slashing. Never had any reduction on my short sword wielding rogue or on my warhammer wielding fighter.

A longbow with bludgeoning damage and high mighty property.

As for the original question:
Aestethical: Dwaxe
Mechanical: Dwaxe (no cleave glitch due to reach as I recall)

warhammer it well do more vs fulll plate armor and lizard and bone dragon ,stone giants stone elemental monster around teh server
