That said just one final point on min-maxing. Starting a character with 16 strength rather than 18 means being able to flesh your other stats to represent the character you WANT to play, rather than complicating your backstory / char. What do you lose? +1 AB +1 DAM, that's it, that's all, no great cosmic gain . . just +1 AB +1 DAM.

Worth thinking about I reckon,

Not every one wants a 0 on stats, I am pretty happy with how my character is turning out, even with 6 wisdom and charisma.

It's not about not having negative stats, its about RP'ing the negative stats, and it can be fun and interesting RP. Being looked upon with disdain and prejudice because of looking on par with a troll or the elephant man can be obstacles a char has to overcome.

Having the wisdom of a drunk chucked out a pub at closing time can also lead to fun RP. Having no will power can mean being lax in your duties (ie. sod off to the pub for a pint rather than do your duty) or are easily lead into problem situations, all can be fun RP.

RP the opposite of these things though then that's snowflake territory as the player has only taken these stats to max out others, but there's nothing wrong with being a snowflake, as I said before if you're having fun and can add to the enjoyment of others, all's good.

To me a snowflake is just a name/term, some may throw it around like an insult but to be honest those type of people would probably find some other form of insult even if there wasn't any snowflakes.
