This would be a wonderful add-on that everyone across the entire server would use. I doubt there would be any nay-sayers when it comes to only adding a breath of fresh air to customizing our RP avatars.

The link provided in the OP however, is not the mod that is being discussed. It is the current mod the server runs. Charlie's Mod states in its own post that it only allows for 'Sets' of armors.

This would be a great addition to the server. There is nothing worse than going through the vaguely familiar set of armors, trying to find if there's something that fits the image in your head but not being sure if it exists. Actually, scratch that, there is something worse. You find an armor set that you like, but there is no cloak that fits with the theme of the armor set  You can't use a slightly darker colored cloak than the one you are looking for, people would think you have no fashion sense :o You'd be the laughing stock of the server!

Karris described the way ToA handled it, and it worked perfectly. There was no issues with duplication or any other bugs that I know of.
Karris wrote:Charlie's Item Appearance Changer does have an innate bug where certain items can be duplicated and is therefore unfit for implemention in its pure form.

This, however, can be circumvented by just putting it all in a special room with mannequins, only allowing certain 'basic' items meant for appearance changing to be changed, and then with a purchaseable token (make it weigh 400 pounds if you don't want characters to be able to change on the fly), to be able to transfer the appearance of the item to your real item.

A bit like the current regeneration cloak modification system works, changing by proxy.

I'd definitely want to see something like this added in the future, in fact I'll probably put it on my top5 priority wish list when that thread is opened by the DM team early next year about what we'd like to see on the server.

Agreed. I played old ToA I and PoS, it was a fantastic system. The options, the options!

We can certainly look into it. Once we've got updates working properly, and have succeeded at a few test runs, someone throw a reminder PM to the BGTSCC Associate Developers and QC forum groups, maybe?

Please do add this... I currently have no armor appearances that fit my character and that I like and thus am having to play on a different server which has it. I much prefer this server to that one and would prefer to stay here if possible. Adding this would fix that problem.

Using it could even be made as gold sink - with a slight customizing fee.

AWESOME. So happy you were able to find the correct add-on.

As others have already alluded to, it seems the dev team would need to figure out how to best implement it. On the ToA server, there were a series of about four dressing rooms players could access, all within one building. Assuming this feature gets added to BGTSCC, it seems there will be a lot of player interest. Similar to the auctioneers about BG, it might be nice to distribute these dressing rooms among the various inns to get players to better activate those buildings. D&D always portrayed inns as the place where adventurers gather, but I rarely run into others, only NPCs. Just a thought.

I'd definitely recommend NOT putting this feature in the Nexus - no one would ever leave! I've literally spent hours tweaking armor appearances to get them as close to perfection as could be. Heh, we've all been there in one way or another. Buncha fashionistas, every one of us.

Well thanks to the developers for at least considering this idea. BG has always been the best NWN2 server out there, this add-on would only make it better.

The ToA system was phenomenal. XP Craft in general is awesome.

Consider this a +1 to the "add it!" side.

Bumping too for great justice.

If this thread had been posted in General Discussion it would've been over 20 pages long by now.
