Yeah, sure, go for it - if it fits your character
If you're planning on rolling up a new character, I could see a cleric, favoured soul, or monk being able to pull it off with some decency.
A mage and sorcerer probably could as well.
And Valefort posted a thread with a naked bard soloing a boss monster, so I suppose they'd be pretty swell at it too - though I got very little combat experience with bards in this game.

If you make a spellcaster you won't be needing any gear anyway.
