I thought about that, lol. It would be fun. But once word gets around, they would just knock this guy out, and repeat every time he wakes up.

Alternatively, just take away the person's spell components. Autostill/silent is not Auto-Eschew Materials, after all!
Now, if the spells don't require a component...well, that gets complicated.

I rolled a character like this year's ago and my experience was overwhelmingly negative as I never encountered anyone who rped not seeing/hearing _______________ casting his spells. Whenever I asked how they knew the spell was from him they usually took it ooc to tell me they saw it in the combat log therefor it is ic knowledge.
*shrugs*

well thats kinda the debate, you are still casting a spell therefore one would get a spellcraft check
the combat log deals with this automatically (tho it only gives the option for the normal check), if they cant identify the spell they dont know, so kinda cant fault them for it

I suppose a question I'd be interested is in HOW do they know it? Do they sense it? Just because they are near enough for the spellcraft check to show on the combatlog, does it give anyone a free pass to know someone cast a spell in the nearby bushes and identify who cast it?
Not thinking of situations when the person is there right in front of you but more like...
Doing silent casting on self behind a corner or in the bushes etc. and in this case you wouldn't hear the person either way and wouldn't be able to notice any finger waggling. Now hurling offensive spells is entirely other matter as you see the spell product coming.
Or in the heat of the battle (or after) would you be able to pin point it was this or that character that cast this and that spell because it says so on your log?

well from an rp and pnp standpoint, yea special cases like that wouldnt allow for a check because you need visual and awareness to do it
however you cant restrict the combat log that way

Robin does more than just cast auto-still, auto-silent spells. His familiar also casts auto-still, auto-silent spells. I have spent a lot of time thinking about what Robin could and could not do with his silent/stilled spells. Essentially it comes down to what I could get away with RP wise, and I usually avoided trying to gain any benefit.
One time we were in some cave with monsters around the corner and a hostage I think, I was able to cast spells without making any noise. Unfortunately another person in the group also thought they could cast spells, and the DM hostiled the monsters because of it.
I also quite enjoy casting greater planar binding to bring in a stealth celestial dire bear behind people.

I fear the toon will always be outed as a caster in IC anyway unless playing exclusively with select friends.
There will always be someone who will relate to IC knowledge by OOC mechanics, lore rolls or what not to claim knowing.
Heck, unless ive been misinformed, we even have a recent DM forum decision on all elven knowing that a halfdrow is a halfdrow (regardless of looks) just by being elven and being near it.
However:
If someone decide for it, consider guild thief4 if it can fit the concept.
