*The following letter is left at the gates of Candlekeep. It is written in the ever-elegant script of the paladin Jonas Rokranon and sealed with the phoenix crest of his house.*
Valerius,
After speaking with Sister Merielle and others of her acquaintance, the situation of a certain individual by the name of Erwin, or Rewin (to be honest, I do not totally understand the tale) possibly being influenced by Shar has been brought to my attention. After what happened with Auriel, you can imagine my distress to hear of something that, although not the same circumstances, still "hits close to home" as the saying goes. I would request of you two things in this matter old friend.
The first is that we need to contact the Selunites in Waterdeep. Your magical talents should be able to quickly get a message to them I believe.
The second is that, if they are willing, we need to get a priest or priestess of the Moonmaiden here as soon as possible. I have offered to pay the price of having someone brought or sent here by magical means. My family can not complain; what remains of the family fortune is mine should I so desire it.
I have already informed Sister Merielle that it is likely the afflicted will need to spend time in Waterdeep with the Selunites even after any ritual is performed.
In addition, I have given Merielle the focus we used last time to drive the shadow from Auriel: the blue diamond called a piece of Selune's tear. I hope there is enough energy remaining to be of use.
If you can help, Valerius, please let me know as soon as possible. If not, I will make the request of one of my fellow Weave Masters. I turn to my brother for aid first.
Sincerely,
Jonas

*Letter arrives to the Keep*
*Written in Elven, Sylvan and Draconic, written three times, once for each language.*
To whom it may concern, I am Ama'laf'ther Arabi'rretyn of the Doron Amar. I request special permission for in the day time hours to wear my full hood within the city limits. When I was young my eyes were badly damaged, and the damage wasn't completely fixed and never can be. Due to this I have extreme light sensitivity. It will be a blue hood with a full mask to keep my face as much out of the light as possible, at night I can wear just the hood. I have been staying at the Inn in Candelkeep a lot so if you wish to send a response please forward it there, thank you.

[[ A man walks into the Keep, spotting a guard stationed at the Gate. He hands the Guard a sealed letter to be addressed to the Captain of the Guard before walking to the inn to see about a room. ]]
The letter inside reads:
To the Captain of the Candlekeep Guard,
A night past I was traveling through Baldur's Gate seeking an Inn where I was to meet some friends. On asking the posted guards for assistance, I was laughed at and shooed away.
After hours of searching, I happened upon a traveler who was more than willing to show me the way to my destination. I didn't learn till our arrival that the elf, one Firavain, was not from the city, but hailed from the Keep.
A city that can produce people of such good-nature to aid another in a city not their own, when even the local guards would not, is a city worth protecting. It is because of the actions of that elf that I would humbly wish to enlist in guarding such a city.
I will be staying at the Inn here in the Keep for a time, awaiting a reply. The Innkeep Winthrop knows my room, and has said he would deliver messages to me should any arrive.
Humbly,
Lucavern

A sealed letter arrives at Candlekeep:
To Lady Joan DeGaulle:
I am a private investigator looking into the White Mask Theater arson case as a matter of public interest. I would like to meet with you to discuss the issue.
Please leave a sealed letter with Lady Alyth of the Elfsong Tavern. Please include in the letter a time at which I could come to Candlekeep to speak with you, and address the letter to "C, of N."
I want to prevent any further catastrophes from befalling the Theater and its patrons. Please help me help the people of Baldur's Gate.

*After the utter chaos infront of the Keep, and badly scorched Kaden leaves a note, and small bag with the sages.*
Yesterday's battle has me greatly concerned, the reason being there were two true fiends among the mess, which nearly cost us the battle. A quick search uncovered a summoning circle, the circle that I believe was used to summon these beasts.
I have met litches whom can summon and control one, yesterday there was both a pit fiend, -and- a balor. Whomever, and what ever summoned these abyssal, and hellish nightmares is both powerful and utterly vile. I lack the ability to examine these samples, thus I bring them here to the Keep in hopes that the Sages can offer insight into the nature of whom ever summoned the fiends.

*In the bag are several vials with blood smears insde, and a sketching of the circle*

Kaden receives a reply promptly, with Candlekeep's crest on the sealing wax:
Kaden Asen,
We at Candlekeep are always happy to assist others in their quest for answers. I have placed some scholars on the problem you've brought to us, and they are looking into it even as I write you now.
What I can tell you, immediately, is that the blood appears to be a pure example of a higher-planar being. Celestial blood is considered a minor artifact, when properly prepared, and can be used in a number of rituals (both benign and quite evil).
The summoning circle appears to have been set up with two forces in direct opposition and should not, technically speaking, have worked. Are you sure this drawing is accurate? And are you sure this circle produced the creatures you speak of? I will look into it further, regardless.
Good luck to you, and please check back with us in a couple of days.
Oghma light your way,
Helm guard you always,
Valerius

A man in the livery of House Rokranon arrives at Candlekeep on horseback, and quickly delivers to the Gate a rolled up piece of parchment sealed with the phoenix crest. He informs the guard on duty that it is for the Guide, Valerius Rokranon.

Valerius reads Jonas's latest letter with a small frown, scratching his head near one of his horns.
He writes a thank you to his sworn brother, for the information, and has it sent with the next Seeker heading north. He then makes a mental note to himself to have a talk with Alison.

*Addressed to The Guide*
Honored servant of Candlekeep
I am writing on behalf of a woman who resides in your bastion of knowledge. She is being tormented by a magic user of considerable power, he is using a scry spell, to instigate a sort of mental torment. The guise this magus is using originates with people she associated with in her past.
We have few clues to go on, though I presented a idea which was agreed on upon by the woman in question, and her friends to include, Sir Jonas Rokranon of Baldurs Gate. Our plan was to locate the people used in the guise, and see if they might offer us any more clues in this matter. To this end, we have need of a magus capable of scrying, I know of no other school of learning than The Keep, that I would prefer for such a task.
We have personal belongings of those in question, and their names. All I would request is for to you could ask your colleges if there are any willing magi to undertake this task, if any wish a reward, I will gladly agree upon a reasonable sum.
Respectfully
Trent Blake, servant of Mystra

*A letter is left outside the Guide's office in the Candlekeep library. It is written in a delicate, cursive script on expensive heavy parchment, scented with rose-water*
"Esteemed Sages of Candlekeep,
My name is Amara Calder, and I find myself in possession of a most rare tome relating to most fascinating arcane lore. If it would please you, I would like to arrange a meeting such that you can evaluate the great value of this piece.
If I may be so bold, I would offer to forego any recompense in exchange for instruction in the Art by one of your most brilliant arcanists.
I look forward to your doubtless wise and considered response,
Amara Calder"
