Thanks a lot Cubicle!

Didn't have the chance to say thank you for all the new areas! I enjoy them a lot, especially the new darkwood district.

Gonna check out the interiors later.

Had some time to explore the new areas in the darkwood district and i have to say damn, i love them :D

Especially the new tavern what a beautiful area, such a well done job Cubicle. Kind of confused that it's also called glouras but whatever... this gloura is so much more awesome than the original one. :D

Your work is much appreciated cubicle, i am looking forward to rp in these new areas!

Edit: Although some sava tables would have been nice :P like the ones in the Bregan D'aerthe guildhall. It kind of fits the atmosphere of the tavern.

After IG talk and just to let players know, I asked a random player what they wanted that building (the DW Gloura's) to be and they suggested another Gloura's bar, since there are 3 Gloura's. It took me a while to figure out what to name it, then I figured, would McDonald's change their name based off their location? Tbh, I was going to ask the player to name it, but they weren't around at the time.
Hidden: show
A small festhall on the western edge of the bazaar. It is famous for a song written about the place that is popular among bards north of Amn. Three Glouras run the place, calling themselves the "Deep Queens" and is staffed by beautiful minstrels and dancers.
The pit was added because I remember someone suggesting it a long time ago. The Gloura's also have a system for indentured services for outsiders+citizens (read the letter inside the bar). It's not a guild per-se, but it does give non Drow some consideration.

Also, post here for future suggestions, or PM me. If reasonable, we'll all get what we want down there.

i think "Three Glouras run the place," means three Gloura fey run the place, not that there are three locations

True. I thought about that too, but I figured, why not. If business is good and they have the manpower, why wouldn't they branch out, is what came to mind. There are 3 sisters and you only ever see 1. (I actually had mind to make a 3rd someday / just a thought though)

While we're on the subject, let me know what you would do differently. I need the criticism if something is out of place. What kind of facility would you prefer, if not the DW Gloura?

Drizzt D'Urden's Guide to the Underdark, p. 94 wrote: Inns and Taverns
  • The Lukhorn’s Gullet (excellent/expensive) is by far the city’s largest dining establishment. Located in a massive, hollow column on the southern periphery of the Dark Weavings Bazaar, this tavern and eatery prides itself on catering to any sentient being, regardless of palate or origin. Diners are seated on ringlike platforms, one atop the next, while drow servers levitate up and down the central shaft delivering food and drink. At least one platform is home to a permanent conflagration catering to flame-dwelling creatures. Two other rings are sealed off by walls of force and flooded with water-saltwater in one, freshwater in the other-allowing aquatic customers the comfort of their home environment.
  • The Shattered Scepter (fair/cheap) is an inn of low repute that nevertheless provides reasonable accommodations. Located in western Sshamath, far from the hub of activity, this establishment is fashioned from a massive stalactite that broke loose long ago, fracturing into two massive chunks on impact. The smaller chunk serves as a stable, while the larger holds more than two dozen chambers for paying guests.
Festhalls
  • The Glouras’ Wings (good/expensive) is a small festhall on the western edge of the bazaar. Unlike Sshamath’s more luxurious and decadent houses, this hall achieved some fame in the Lands of Light thanks to a ballad penned by the legendary Mintiper Moonsilver after his one and only visit more than a decade ago. [Grym's note: this sourcebook is 2e and written from the perspective of about 1367] The Glouras’ Lament is a soulful hymn inspired by the constant droning song created by the wings of a glouras, described by some adventurers as more beautiful than even siren songs. Mintiper’s composition is now widely sung by bards north of Amn and west of the Great Sand Sea. The festhall itself is run by a trio of Underdark faeries who call themselves the Deep Queens. The three glouras are attended by a troupe of beautiful, skilled minstrels and dancers.

That's the issue, none of those are actually in the Darkwoods. Lore doesn't really specify too much on what's actually in the Darkwoods District. The Tower of the Masked Mage, sure, but outside of a residential ghetto/district, it's hard to say. That's why the DW Gloura's was made, non-canon. I mean, if you guys really want, I could drag something down from Sshamath (Northside), into the Darkwoods.

My IG time has been a bit scarce lately, but having been on and looked around would like to say Muchas Kudos Cubicle, your work is much appreciated :)

As regard Gloura's I think it would be better renamed with a new 'underworldy' npc owner type.

Given the culture/nature of Sshamath I just think its a REALLY bad business move for respected citizens (Ie the Glouras) to open a new bar serving the dregs of Sshamath's society. Its puts their existing business at risk with the snobbish drow / others who looks down on the Darkwoods.

The Inn itself looks really good as a rough and tumble bottom feeding slum establishment, just needs a similar type of owner, someone who resents being looked down upon by the rest of the city, as he angrily knifes one of his patrons for welching on a bet :P.

Good points there, BigJ, you too, grym.

Since there is clearly an issue with the name/ownership, I will change it. Like I said, I appreciate the criticism, so please don't take it the wrong way if I defend my work. I'm not inflexible, so if multiple players voice their opinion about something, I may question it, but in the end, I hope to add something we all can agree with.

So, the big question now is, what should we call it?
