Re: The Siege of Baldurs Gate (Post Event Roleplay Thread)
Eastern Wall Defense
ooc time: 5th january
The defenders killed one Behemoth plus a lot of rotting corpses and flying skulls. Unfortunatly the Behemoth destroyed the tower and an Angel of Decay fled from the battlefield before he was destroyed. But again the eastern walls held.
After the retreat of the enemy the defenders used the time to rest at home or in the tempels and taverns......
......."Hello Mom, I am back. We have done well.", Vendor Xon says to his mother as he enters the doorstep of their joint home in a backstreet near the Temple of Illmater. The old herb woman smiles. Standing in her spicy smelling kitchen she answers with her weak voice, "Hello Vennyboy, so you fought them back?... The undeads should be glad that my heart is too weak and my bones are too brittle. Otherwise I would teach them what it means to be fragmented". Ven laughs,"That I believe". He steps into the kitchen to give her a warm hug.
"Here are the salves for the Temple of Illmater. I mixed them with the Godsherb you brought", she speaks motioning to the desk behind him. "Please deliver them as soon as possible!".......

Eastern Wall Defense
January 5th
Before the imminent battle, Rags removes his ragged robe and folds it neatly, only to place it behind one of the wall's crumbling parapets, along the blood spilled by those who defended the wall before. He readies himself for war, taking heavy iron flails in hand and swinging them overhead with great strength. From the darkness three massive figures appear on the horizon, towering above the ranks of the undead horde. Ballista bolts fly overhead from the remaining towers, while Eldarian gets to one knee and falls to prayer, joined in his effort by Ameris and finally Rags.
The defenders gather
Reine Arlynson watches out over the ruined fortifications before turning to those gathered at the east wall. She addresses them with a determined voice.
"Our catapults are gone. Swarmed by the undead durin' the last battle. Truth is we dun got much of a chance of defendin' th' walls. We're buyin' time. Not much else. Is tha' clear t'everyone?"
Grim determination can be read off the faces of the defenders, after the realization of their ordeal and the truth of commander Reine's words sets in. Nonetheless, they all stay, ready for the battle that is to come.
"Martyrdom is not such a bad prospect." Rags offers. But his voice sounds dour.
The commander orders Eldarian and Vendor to pick their men and defend the north and south part of the eastern wall respectively. The horde of undead and the lumbering behemoths finally reach the already battered wall. Legions of the unholy creatures crawl up along the behemoths and pour unto the wall, followed by black swarms of flying skulls. Now battle is joined.
Battle is joined
"W-we are h-holdng the north. B-but what of the s-south end?" The ragged priest asks his brothers in battle, while flailing wildly at the undead ranks. "Forget the south end, FATHER!" Eldarian yells in reply. "Focus on the father!"
Battling the father
Eldarian and Rags clash with the powerful creature known as a 'father'. It is large and bulging with muscles. Above its eerie red eyes are two horns that protrude from its skull. Ameris hacks his way through the undead to their side, while Telia's spells and the tower's ballista bolts reign destruction on the endless ranks of undead that keep pushing toward the wall.
The father falls. Followed by another. And another. Finally, even the great towering creature that allowed the undead to pour onto the wall collapses, after having endured the onslaught of endless bolts and magic spells. It is sent crashing down into the wall.
A behemoth falls
"We are unbroken!" Ameris cheers. "W-well... perhaps a l-little broken..." Rags comments while spitting some blood.
Suddenly cries for help reach the defenders' ears. They come from the city proper. Looking back over the other end of the wall the defenders see a terrible sight. An Angel of Decay, accompanied by swarms of pestskulls have reached the city and are slaughtering everything in their path. The defenders are quick to react, but in their absence from the walls, more undead pour in and cause the unthinkable.
So much death
The Khazark of the Red Wizards cries out to one of his knights. "They lured us into the city, only to split us and take down the towers!"
A large tower shatters and comes crashing down. Its ballista and crew engulfed by dust and rubble. The defenders rush back to their positions along the wall and battle hard to drive the undead back. The Angel of Decay lets out a howl as it is forced to ascend once more. The towering behemoths withdraw, along with the remaining undead. The walls took extensive damage, and a tower has fallen. But ultimately the line held, and it held well.
Victory
After having helped defend against the second wave of undead at the east wall, Rags retires to Ilmater's sanctuary and helps himself to some hot porridge to calm his nerves. He then places his remaining coins on the counter and asks the sister for some loafs of bread for the city's starving, before heading out into the cold night to do Ilmater’s work.

Eastern Wall Defence
January 5th
Following the exhausting battle on the wall, Ameris accompanies several others to retire to the temple of Ilmater to take a brief rest, food and drink.
Later, Ameris joins triaging efforts for the wounded, setting up a subcamp near the east gate for those who cannot or will not visit the temple. His mood is best described as vexed, although the arrival of a Tormite priest to assist the efforts keeps him in line.
When a dark haired sorceress dressed in the colours of Ilmater passes the camp, Ameris hurries after her, apparently with urgency. They return a few minutes later, with Ameris in better spirits, and she plays soothing music on a lyre to accompany the stylings of a local minstrel; meanwhile the two priests finish treating the worst of the injured they find.

Whether it was a victory or a defeat may differ from the various opinions...
One thing was certain... Death...

A confused priest of Tempus, speaks to the crowd: "What is the foul angel searching for?", puzzled he wanders back to the Temple of Tempus.

Re: The Siege of Baldurs Gate (Post Event Roleplay Thread)
Western Wall Defense
January 6th
The little gnome in the pointed hat barely had time to sort things out... his curious following of the group of adventurers started innocently enough, but the end result was not in the least what he expected.
Gurble wrung his small hands as the group of adventurers he had followed up onto the western walls started to ward and draw their weapons, their collective gaze inexorably drawn towards the wall. What the gnome saw approaching did nothing to ease his already skittish manner. A lump rose in his throat at the sight of the behemoths, and then he, rather subconsciously, began to fall into the weave. Within moments the pointy hatted gnome was a shimmering speck standing on the wall beside the others, and then his little hands wove in a long and intricate pattern towards the ground... a point from which sprung up one of his favorite summons: a writhing mass of coalescing air and wind, given slight form by the swirling branches and dirt that it whipped up underneath and then through it.
"Let's g-get them Wendy!", the gnome exclaimed with a faint quiver in his voice, his confidence seemingly given a boost just by the presence of the elder elemental.
And then... utter chaos.
The gnome froze as the winged creatures swarmed down upon the group. Not so for the elemental, who began to swat at the creatures left and right with its semi-corporeal limbs, the other warriors, mages, and fighters alike thrusting themselves into the fray.
Gurbles hands clenched up then, and he swallowed hard. A realization donning on the gnome as his group carved away through the pressing calamity of petskulls and lumbering undead humanoids: They would need his magic if any of them were going to survive.
"Freeze!!", he shouted while lifting his tiny arms... at least in his ears it sounded like a shout. The others, no doubt, would have heard it as no more than a squeak from the magically shrunken gnome. Not that it mattered, not over the din of the carnage atop the wall... and not over the crisp flashes of freezing magic that began to erupt from Gurble. His hastened minute form began to zig-zag atop the battlements then, and wards sprung up around what fellow defenders he could reach.
... and when all was said and done the group of defenders had, somehow, miraculously held.
The little gnome in the pointed hat breathed hard, and stared down at the remains of no less than seven of his elder elemental summons... their earthen, fiery, and watery remains(... which the others might have heard Gurble refer to as Rocky, Bernie, and Splashy respectively, while they fought) strewn about and soaking the mass of corpses belonging to both undead and defender alike.
"G-go p-play, Wendy...", the gnome murmured softly towards the last elemental he had brought into being, and then he lifted a little hand to blow gently at the creature before it dispersed silently back into the weave.

Re: The Siege of Baldurs Gate (Post Event Roleplay Thread)
The sorceress expression would have been grim as she left the walls with the others as no more undead came in the wave and it was time to change defenders on the walls. Such extensive use of magic over the past days seem to have taken a toll on her yet she tries to hide it. However, the facial paints do not quite manage to cover up the dark circles underneath her eyes.kleomenes wrote:Eastern Wall Defence

While others may celebrate at being able to hold back the undead, the sorceress looks like she has lost something.
Later on, she would be seen in the streets nearby the Enclave, just outside the fence, showing little emotion as she stepped away from it. When her priest finds her, she follows him.
Some tranquillity is found in the music.

The Order of the Silver Rose inspects the damage patrolling the walls, then would position themselves where most needed to prevent any undead from entering if there are breaches.
Also making sure the OSR Mobile Triage station and Sun cannons are ok.
(( oocly most of the OSR is at work during the days the events are being held due to being in the Eastern Time Zone of America. Not sure how to RP this yet.

Corwin, lean hooded one in green cloak, would be seen in the slums between North Wall and Palace district. He would do his best to help injured and diseased defenders of the wall, and shoot down with divine magic every pestskull that would come in range, any undead that could try to attack triage units.
Tad - mercenary of the Phoenix Company. Now spending most of time in Friendly Arms, where he rents a room.

Event: Plugging the Gap -- Northern Wall
January 7
The breach in the Northern Wall was lost... Undead pour into the palace district as the defenders make a succession of last stands.
Although all hope is not lost... Word also spreads that the Ranger Vendor Xon along with several other brave defenders managed to strike at Magmire herself. Supposedly she was critically wounded before fleeing the battlefield.

North Wall Defense
Kory would come barreling South into the lower half of the palace district as the horde along with a pet of Magmire's tear rampant through the Northern half of the Palace district. His breathing is heavy and his armor once a brilliant luster of mithril now covered in blood and is wrent so that one can hardly believe it functional. The look of determination is clear upon his face as he goes to praying over the wounded and beseeching Hoar to bring the fallen to life again lest they become a part of the great horde. As usual he does this to near exhaustion and finally colaspses against a old oak nearby as the pandemonium continues. He seems unconscious and the lone tell tale sign he is okay is the constant sound of him snoring away....

North Wall Defence - aka Bloodbath and Crushing Defeat for the defenders
*El follows in Kory's wake, her strides heavy, her own armor, shield and a blade covered in blood, pus and other remains. The long, crimson cloak hangs heavy - damp with blood and mud - around the young woman's shoulders. The total lack of expression on her face stands in contrast with the stormy, cold gaze that scans the carnage and destruction around them. She heals the wounded and rises the fallen staying close to her comrade and once Kory passes out under a tree, El stands guard for a longer while before waking him up again. They can be seen disappearing in a bright flash soon after.*

Ameris would be seen moving through the streets of the city with haste, trying to assess what, if any, support he can suggest the clergy of Ilmater provide. He visits the palace district although is careful to avoid the fighting at this stage, then does the same with the docks district.
He would most likely request that the pacifistic healers from the Temple, who lack defenders, heal the wounded in the Docks district, hoping that they can support the war effort indirectly by helping get wounded defenders on the Western Wall back in action quicker.

Should the Triage units arrive, Ameris would suggest they support the fighting directly in the Palace District, but he would emphasise the danger and emphasise to the Silver Rose that the triage units should be protected, or set up by the gates to the district.LISA100595 wrote:http://www.bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=1 ... 35#p628635
* Lady Elvina puts out an Emergency Call for ALL groups to head to the defense of Baldur's Gate Immediately!! She indicated Teleportation services are available, even if she has to do it herself.
She also orders the remaining Mobile Triage Units to Baldur's Gate which would equal both available to report to Ameris at the Ilmatari medical services station.*
(( Let me know the cost of Teleporting any groups that need to be moved quickly please.
