WoD/AK patches up a fighters weaknesses to a certain extent - namely, will saves, AC and spell defence. It does this via access to tumble (2 to 3 more AC than a typical fighter), forcing players to make a good choice in picking Iron Will as well as having Will saves progress at a high level. Added to this, players can maximise spellcraft for an additional +6 to saves vs spells. Players can also max heal, allowing them to heal 100+ damage per round if needed. It gets 2 very useful bonus feats early on, and smart builders taking ten levels will use the last two bonus feats to buy epic feats. Anointed weapon is just icing on the cake. It basically makes any +4 weapon an epic one, plus you never have to worry about how to kill trolls! This isn't a weak prc, it's basically a must have prc for pure melee'ers. To say it's weak or underpowered is pretty crazy. Also, I think the Rp around it is awesome too ...

As said, WoD/AK are fine. They provide several feats, skills, saves and for most builds two more epic feats, plus the damage bonus. Comparatively, it's a really good class for non-spellcasters.

BFZ is obviously one of the worst classes in the game. Even the suggested upgrade from QC might become make-up on a corpse (a suggestion from last year was D4 fire, 7/10 CL, dimension door 3/day). The requirements are rough, and the kind of builds its meant for rarely pan out well. Even if you made something like a FS or C with BG, to help to qualify for the class, what you're really doing is sacrificing epic bonus feats and CL for...some fire damage and skill selection. It's not worth it.

Meanwhile, Karond's Dwarven Defender is among the best PvE characters one can build, and it's as melee as it gets.

+1, it's exactly my experience. It's not so much that the class is bad per se (and it is...), but the requirements completely kill it. In addition, with the new CL fix going in, you might as well remove it from the game.

And please remove that "Death Touch" piece 'o' crap and give something in exchange.

Was there any changes in classes in the latest patch?
