If you are going to make a Bear Warrior, have a look at this one: http://nwn2db.com/build/?111541 Switch the race to Half-orc, and remember that they get +1 constitution on this server.

As for non-monk unarmed character, lots of levels of fighter make a pretty decent build. It is the bonus feats. Thus simply going for Fighter 30 should be more than good enough, as long as you have UMD skill stat of at least 13. (To overcome the Monk class requirement that is often seen in unarmed gloves.)

But if you are determined on making an unarmed Barbarian. Unarmed damage sure, but what else do you actually want?

Do you want to go for the Constitution based absurdly high of Hit Points, with 15(+)/- Damage Reduction, and Fast Healing of 6 HP per round?

Or would you rather want to focus on AB, Damage, and really high Strength ability score?

For both of these builds, a Barbarian 20/Fighter 10 is a pretty decent base template.

Then to mix things further, which of the Rage variants do you actually fancy? The regular Str + Con, or Whirlwind Frenzy variant with Str + Dodge AC? (Honestly, either build idea could go for either one.)

Not to forget asking whether you want the Fist of the Forest PRC, or any of the PRCs that grant you fear immunity. (Standard Rage using Barbarians can easy boost their Will saves with their absurd constitution modifier and rage bonuses - where as the Whirlwind Frenzy variant is much weaker against the relatively common Fear aura.)

And then there is the issue of Epic Rage. Are you happy with +8 (From Rage) and +4 (From potions/Spells/Or hard to come by equipment) or would you prefer to get +10 (From Rage) and +2 (From easily acquired equipment)? You have to consider the possible AC bonuses on top.

So what would you actually fancy?

This is a lot to take in for someone just starting out such as myself. I've never even crafted my own build, people always do it for me and than I just follow the outlines. That being said, I'm fairly lenient on what needs to be in the build. My biggest concern is for it to be viable in the server. It has to make sense from an rp stance. I don't want to be in trouble with the DM's for playing a certain way that would go against everything the class would stand for.

I would just do a monk build, but I can't see that being feasible from a rp stance with the type of character I'd like to play. I don't see my character being a law abiding citizen. Lawful just isn't going to be in his nature. He's the kinda person who would start a brawl because it's fun.

EDIT: As for the character type, I just want to hit things. I don't expect to do a lot of damage. I also don't expect to dodge every attack. It's mostly for RP, though should be viable in combat.

And I have to admit being rather lazy when it comes to using that NWN builder. But I did search for builds... and managed to find these two:

This one was done with Grey Orc: http://nwn2db.com/build/?177498

And this one was done with Half-orc: http://nwn2db.com/build/?238270

Either build should do just fine, but if you want to just follow a layout, then go for Chambordini's Half-orc. (Although, in my eyes, it is hindered by limited usage of Rage. But then on the other hand, Rage only grants it +3 AB, Damage, and AC, which it should be able to live without.)

Anyhow, in this case it is a bit of a shame that the Battlerager PRC is limited to Dwarves only.

Sigh... I guess I went and did two Barbarian 20/Fighter 10 builds as an example:

Strength based: http://nwn2db.com/build/?238352

Constitution based: http://nwn2db.com/build/?238354

The strength based build is the easier to start out with of the two. Higher damage output, higher amount of AC thanks to your Whirlwind Frenzy Rage variant, but as discussed earlier, it is the low will save that makes you hate all fear auras. (Unless you use a wand to make yourself immune to mind affecting effects.)

And the constitution based build is slightly more equipment dependent. You got that silly amount of bulk, once you get past the mid epics, but on pre-epic levels you will want to raise your AC as much as you can. Even by using a tower shield. But on the bright side, thanks to your Rage and Steadfast Determination feat, your base will saves are not that crappy.

Anyhow, just compare the builds. Pick your favorite. And I guess some other people could chime in as well.

20 barbarian, 10 Frenzied Berserker. You get 50 strength while angry and your opponent comes down with a serious case of punchy face.
Roland; svirfneblin fist of the forest and eco terrorist.
Heinrich Von Rittermark; Everwatch Knights of Helm
Frederick Von Rittermark; Paladin of Azuth/Mystra
Erik Von Rittermark; Unknown

Isn't there a hard ability bonus cap of 12? Meaning that you can get +10 from Epic Rage, and just +2 from other sources?

Or has that been changed on this server? (You could do it in PnP though, and your party would hate your guts after your character accidentally tears up the party in addition to enemies.)

That strength build you did is very appealing and just what I was looking for.

I'm guessing that lowering the int would be a problem though. Think people would get angry if I still talked like a "dumb half orc?"

Nothing says that your character cannot talk like a dumb half-orc. So, one way to solve this perception 'issue' is to say that character lacks 'cultural refinement' or something along those lines.

For example you could consider a fancy dinner party where usage of certain utensils is expected if not outright required. Thus people will be appalled to witness someone transport food from the plates into their mouths via their own hands, even if it is mathematically speaking the most time saving solution. You could easily make similar parallels with accents and academia.

So, feel free to RP as you please. ;)
