This group was formed as "muling allowed" so unless someone has a specific issue I see no reason the muled items should be removed. Do as you will!

For clarity.
Define muling please as it refers to before characters met ?
and also what it means going forward ?
If there is to be any rivalry rp or shared objectives between the various groups it would seem sensible they all worked off same rules. But otherwise I have no opinion of why one would be better over another. It seems to be it only effects what sort of challenge group would aim at.

OK, so let's do this as you bring up some good points.
For those who've already muled, keep what is on your PC but no further muling is allowed. If you find something on the PC, trade/sell it with that PC if you can't use it.
For those with the newer PC's that are playing catch up right now, muling acceptable, but keep in reasonable. Maybe one +3 AC item and anything else must be level appropriate (i.e. must be useable for level 7 or lower). You can mule one time and try to keep it to a total of 4 items or less. For those that already muled, if you have more than 4 items please select 4 or less and move the rest off your PC.

For this to work, all groups would have had to agree to 'no muling' up front, which they didn't. Our group was set up as the 'muling allowed group' so I am hesitant to change the rules on folks after the fact. In addition, the groups are differentiated by play times so I don't see how we could do any real rivalry/pvp between groups since getting our group in game at the same time as the other groups is just not going to happen. (unless the couple flexible people do it on their own, but then it's 2 against 4+ so.....)
If anyone disagrees/doesn't like a muling limit please post because, as I said changing the rules at this point seems a bit unfair, but I was of the mind that muling/no muling was fine either way with me so I don't really have a preference either way. If anyone in the group posts that they want unlimited muling I think we have to go with that since the group was formed under that pretense, but if everyone agrees now to limit it then I'm cool with that as state above or in any other fashion.

I have a few questions. Just a few things I think we should make clear before they come up IG.
1. How are we going to handle the death of a character?
I prefer to treat raise dead as reviving someone that has been knocked out with smelling salt or splashing them with water. I think there was talk of premadeath. I found this on true resurrection.
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/trueResurrection.htm
2. Adding characters to the group?
I am in favor of anyone joining as long as they fit. Being that were not out to get max XP I see no reason not to have more then six in our group just to avoid the XP penitently.
3. Muling? Does it have to be all on none?
The main reason I joined this group was for the muling. I have made Edgar to be a front line tank and as a cleric he will also be running around the battlefield healing anyone who needs it. I can't see playing him without having good AC from gear. If we are not going to allow muling, I will have to change Edgar to more of a ranged character.
4. Loot?
Do we put everything we find in a pile and take turns picking what we want? Or do we barter between ourselves?
This post shows how I would feel on each item. But just to be clear, here's how I would vote.
1. Treat raise dead as knocked out.
2. Let anyone join as long as they fit our group.
3. Allow muling.
4. Barter between characters.
With all that said, I'm fine with whatever we decide and look forward to seeing everyone IG on Thursday.

Personally, I vote that until your cleric or mine is able to cast (and choses to memorize) raise dead it should be treated as someone has to carry that person around until we get back to town/somewhere with a temple that can raise dead. Now, if we carry around a raise dead scroll or two that is not a bad idea to avoid unpleasant outcomes from server resets, but I think this would be the most 'lore appropriate way to handle it. Smelling salts from raise scrolls is all fine and good, but if we want to treat this closer to pnp we should avoid that and make death at least inconvenient in that the party member is unavailable until we get somewhere to pay for a raise.

As groups get larger, RP tends to slow to a crawl, especially when doing 'adventure' RP. This is why I think 5-6 is the max before splitting in to smaller groups. To me 4-5 is a good # for adventure RP, but we can also play it as it comes I.C. Sometimes it would make sense IC to split up and cover more caves. Other times, perhaps there is a more difficult area where we would want to pool our resources.

As I said originally, this group was formed as 'muling allowed' so if you feel that you need it I do not think it would be fair to tell you no. That said, I think what I suggested was simply to limit it to 3-5 muled items... Also, as a cleric you have multiple spells that will improve your armor for a time (though some are minute per level so short duration right now), but is 3-5 items not enough to keep you at respectable AC? I'm pretty sure the Soubar cave area's are low enough CR that if you go above mid 20's most creatures are unlikely to cause too many problems (especially for a large group). Anyway, as I said, the group was formed as muling allowed so I have no worries whatever anyone wants to do.
OXHawkXO wrote:4. Loot?

I prefer the idea of treating it a bit like you would in pnp, just for something different... Basically put all the loot in a campfire and everyone rolls a d20. Then each person picks one item from the campfire based on highest to lowest roll until it's gone. This of course requires agreement from everyone as if any one person wants to just keep whatever they loot it kind of ruins it. In addition, if no one in the party is able to ID something, then it is left unidentified and it is up to the player in question to figure out. Reason for me wanting to do this is it was part of the fun in playing PnP when I was growing up and I think it would be an interesting type of RP. Plus everyone hears what each others picks are so if you want a specific item barter RP can occur.
So, my clear votes if you didn't want to read all my reasoning:
1. Treat dead as dead, require a raise, no using raise dead scrolls except to protect a player from server reset XP loss issue.
2. Let anyone join as IC RP dictates, but it's also more feasible in reality to RP with smaller groups, unless more firepower is actually needed.
3. Allow muling is fine with me.
4. Roll d20 and take turns picking items from a campfire.

Summary of todays adventure
The Party:
chad878262 - Kasheron (Cleric/Monk)
OXHawkXO - Edgar (Warrior Cleric)
RagingPeace - Nephxik (Tiefling Barbarian)
mixafix - Thorn (Halfling Bard/rhyming rogue!)
Tantive - Maura (Wizardess)
Our intrepid adventurers descended in to the well in Soubar, seeking anything of note that might earn them coin with their mysterious benefactor. With Kas and Neph leading the way they searched through the wells, heroically battling bats and small, mobile fungi. After searching for a time, finding little of interest among the beds of mushrooms and such, they found a submerged archway, what might be a door or hallway. Deciding it may lead to somewhere a bit more interesting they took the plunge, Kas leading the way to ensure it was safe and on the other side they found...
A ruined temple! They began searching about, battling dire rats and were rats as they searched this interesting new location, complete with an alter with dried blood everywhere, decades old corpses, some little more than bones and banners that Maura commented showed the symbol of Bane! After finding a few lose gold coins, but little else, the brave party was searching a side hall when out of nowhere a huge spider came upon them! Neph screamed in rage and attempted to slice the beast in half, but instead was knocked prone as the spider began attempting to bite through his armor as Kas looked on curiously... Eventually Maura was able to chase it off by hitting it with a magical bolt cast from her wizardly powers.
The group continued to explore, but it became apparent the spider was not going to leave them alone, it continued to attack and run off, never allowing the group to get their bearings....After a time they found they had moved deeper in to the temple and found it was less abandoned then they'd thought....Maura was beset upon by a mage wearing the trappings of a banite and was forced to kill him with her magic. However, the more disturbing issue was the spiderwebs covering every wall, the floors and ceilings of the level they found themselves in.
They were beset by several more spiders, including one that proved quite difficult to put down, but also by the huge spider from the temple floor below, which they found increasingly menacing... They fought and regrouped for several minutes, some becoming severely injured in the process before finally....they ran! They eventually found themselves back on the original level where they'd emerged from the well and, after a quick glance, chose to ascend the stairwell, leading them back to...the Winding Way inn! Hmmm...more to this inn then appears!
While Kas and Neph immediately ascended to the inn, the remainder of the party was beset by a woman....To Be Continued ((Need Tantive, OXHawkXO or Mixafix to provide detail))

So there was a woman and the group of ex adventurers fled up the stairs, half way up, and yet neither up nor down... the two fighters far ahead...
There once was a woman we met, somewhat impossibly tall
Had we seen a ghost she asked as we looked ready to fall
Were we all right she smirked, hiding her self with magic disguise
Better than alright, inspired we said, for failure we rightly despise
Spiders of Bane, all slain, rats and bats to the belfry, onwards, we will maul
She appeared neither surprised or feared at our appearance and so later Maura would suggest she was something to do with the temple below and probably rightly so - but for now we held our thoughts close and our enemies closer. For we would learn more first before speaking our words. We were not finished with this puzzle quite yet.

*After getting what supplies he could afford, Edgar sits down and gathers his thoughts and begins to write in his journal.* We must have missed something, there must be more to this then mapping some old abandoned ruins. What's with the spiders? Are they protecting something, something more then it's hatch-lings? And that woman, what was she doing down there? We must find out more about her. I think she might be the key to why we were really sent to those ruins.

There were three. The terrible trio, the thirsty three, Edgar first then Thorn then Maura too. Fortified with inspirational spirit from the Inn they finally decided to explore the ruined Temple once again. Settling their bar bill with Mag by putting down a rather understated rat problem. There were spells, there were maces, there were were creatures, there was finally success. A small bag of gold or two, some credibility. They had arrived, they were nearly famous. There would be more. Others would join them in times to come. They would spend their profit and wait for them at the Inn.
