Re: The State of Crafting / New to community
I think i saw a post a while ago from QC member that D4 would be the highest you could enchant an item with. Might have changed by now though.

The damage by tier goes 1, 2, 1d4, 3 and will not be limited to physical damage as far as I kno (ie. you can add elemental damage types).Tsidkenu wrote:

Re: The State of Crafting / New to community
If I recall it is limited to elemental types... I don't think you can add physical, holy or negative energy (though I might be mistaken).Tsidkenu wrote:The damage by tier goes 1, 2, 1d4, 3 and will not be limited to physical damage as far as I kno (ie. you can add elemental damage types).Tsidkenu wrote:

By the way, physical is more powerful than energy damage so long as it is not the same damage type as exists naturally on the weapon. Sure acid/fire can kill trolls and has it's place, but a handaxe w/ 1-4 bonus bludgeoning damage has that bonus damage crit while a handaxe with 1-6 cold damage does not... So if you have a weapon w/ +X bonus physical damage don't think of it as some underpowered garbage vs. a weapon w/ bonus electrical (or whatever) because in certain circumstances it's actually better.

elemental damage multiplies in crits too. I know because my silver dragon warrior's cold shows up as 2 or 3 cold damage, (cant remember ATM) when he crits, it is normally just one damage.chad878262 wrote:If I recall it is limited to elemental types... Elemental damage on weapon doesn't multiiply on crits. Dragon Warrior may work differently (although I'm skeptical about that), but elemental enchantment and WoD oil do not multiply on critical hit.NeOmega wrote: elemental damage multiplies in crits too. It shouldn't be. QC haven't even tested a framework version of it yet

I know in dwarven lore their clerics are renown for enchanting weapons, armor, gates, keeps etcetera. Not sure I've ever heard of a warlock enchanter though.

They get access to all the crafting skills, have bonuses to lore/umd, and can substitute umd check for spells when enchanting.AlwaysSummer Day wrote:I know in dwarven lore their clerics are renown for enchanting weapons, armor, gates, keeps etcetera. Warlock enchanter or warlock blacksmith is a very good fit for the class. It requires smart warlock, though.

Re: The State of Crafting / New to community
So they can only enchant one thing per level?IMBUE ITEM
Type of feat
Class, Item creation
Prerequisite
Warlock level 12
Required for
None
Specifics
You can create magic items based on spells you cannot cast. You must take the appropriate Item Creation Feat and then make a Use magic device check vs. DC 15 + Spell level for Arcane spells or DC 25 + Spell level for Divine spells.
If the check succeeds, the warlock can create the item as if he had cast the required spell. If it fails, he cannot complete the item. He does not expend the XP or gold cost for making the item; his process is simply slowed. He cannot retry this use magic device check for this spell until he gains a new level.

Hello!
Writing to ask if there were any updates as far as which feats and/or skills are necessary in regards to the upcoming crafting/enchanting system?

Re: The State of Crafting / New to community
At the moment it will be the two crafting feats: Craft Magical Arms & Armor, and Craft Wondrous Items.Beachgamer wrote:Hello!

The system is more designed for enchanting magic items rather than creating mundane equipment (eg. masterwork iron full plate, or a mithral longsword etc) so I don't think Craft Armor/Craft Weapon will come into the picture yet.
